i just… need more people to read the stormlight archive…
seriously they are such AFFIRMING books in the way the characters are rewarded for personal growth and challenging themselves, but also rewarded for being gentle with themselves when they stumble or regress. and the ensemble cast has all kinds of different skills because nobody has to be good at everything, or be competent all the time. all the protags have each others’ backs and i am SO here for it.
and the lowkey theme of people finding freedom & comfort in chipping away at restrictive gender roles? mmmmm yeeeah boy!

I saw someone complain about the fact that weddings in Brandon’s books always end up happily. And yes it’s true. However if his overused storyline is to have women not ending in abusive relationships, and having two people in love and caring about each other? Then he can carry on for as long as he wants.
I thought this was talking about the weddings themselves and was like “Have they even read some of his wedding scenes??”
Vin and Elend were married while she was almost bleeding out in a stairwell.
Wax and Steris had a water tower fall on their church.
Dalinar basically had God’s ghost preside over the wedding.

Mistborn Vin vs ATLA Toph
I’d been wanting to do a Cosmere/ATLA crossover for a long time (my two main fandoms!) and I finally did one. Not sure if this had been mentioned or done before, but Vin & Toph would be a great pair!
