Coppre is a great initiative to redefine the copper craft of Tambat Ali Peth, Pune. Coppre reflects the legacy of the metal craftspeople – the makers who beat malleable metal into beautiful artefacts. This collaboration was initiated by product designer Rashmi Ranade. INTACH Pune Chapter and Forbes Marshall Foundation provided start-up support for the project.

They sell packaged jackfruits that can be kept fresh and is available through the year. Freeze-drying technology is used to preserve the freshness of the fruit. Jackfruit is harvested seasonally and collected in their facility where they freeze-dry the fruit with utmost care for quality control and package it to be sold in stores both onsite and online.

RassLeela was founded by Hetal Shrivastav and Chaitali Patel to work collaboratively with artisans exchanging knowledge, skills and supportive services to preserve and uplift the traditional craft practices.   The artisans of RassLeela are equally involved in the design process. Aiming to preserve, not only the technique but also, and more importantly, the joy and passion of the craft, the artisans are given the freedom to use their own designs. It’s an effort to learn and use some of their design skills and traditional styles.   They have developed a whole new range of fully hand stitched garments, where various hand embroidery stitches are used as embellishment and also to stitch the garments.

Animal Farm, by Nishi Chauhan, is part of a continuing series of explorations centered around the twin themes of craft revival and the repurposing of used objects. This first set of up-cycled bottle lamps evoke six animal forms - Peeves, Porky, Gerry, Flo, Humf and Ellie. Featuring the wood and lac turnery craft of Channapatna in Karnataka, with minimal intervention from the designer and the craftspeople. These objects that would usually have met with uninteresting ends in the recycling chain have been born again as playful and usable products.
