Heigh-Ho!
I just realized that doing another College Program means dusting off the ol’ blog and getting back to posting on here! Excited to have my mom and a few friends tell me how much they love my writing. Stay tuned.Â

Fancy?
I haven’t posted on my tumblr in roughly 10 months, so this is probably what I deserve...
WHAT ARE ALL THESE FANCY UPDATES?! HELP ME I’M SO 2000 AND LATE.
I’m going to start posting regularly again. Though I’m not working at Walt Disney World or doing anything devastatingly exciting right now, I still have my wit and desire to write, damn it. So...here I am! (Please read that as Julie Andrews as Maria when she arrives at the von Trapp mansion...you know the line.)
Here’s my last post (ever?) about my 2014 Disney College Program.Â
Graduation!! With two of my favorite Mermaids, the best roommate I could have asked for, and my boss & his GF.Â
The last time I saw my clockout screen. A glorious, but sad thing.

Saying goodbye to Hollywood Studios in the best way possible - riding my favorite rides multiple times.Â
Princess Day! I absolutely love this girl and cannot wait until we are reunited someday at Disneyland!!
We went to rope drop, so we got a lot accomplished! First on the Mine Train (!!), Peter Pan's Flight, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise and I had my very first Dole Whip, all before 10 am!Â
We met the Gaston, Ariel and Peter Pan (who was actually the most perfect human).Â
"Maddie are you alive? What happened to your blog?" - No one.
Okay so I know it looks like I kind of fell off the face of the earth here. Like, did I survive my College Program? Why didn't I finish this thing out? Am I alive?Â
So I'm being a little over dramatic (shocker) - I totally survived living in Florida (wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles) and successfully completed my Disney College Program (it's...more "difficult" than it sounds, you'd be surprised at how many people don't), but for whatever reason (sheer exhaustion, just being over it), I stopped this blog. Sorry y'all (and by y'all, I mean the two people who read this. Hi Mom, Hi Patrick!).
I guess I'll try and wrap up the final week as best I can...but it was like six months ago and my memory isn't what it used to be. (However, I posted a lot to Twitter so I’m digging through that to try and figure out what happened.)
I had a LOVELY Princess Day with my favorite CP from across the pond, Leanna! We went to Magic Kingdom and had a blast, despite the rain. Pictures to follow!
I watched a one-eyed squirrel break into a to-go box that was left on a stroller, steal a HUGE piece of chicken out of it and feast on said piece of chicken in front of Disney Junior. It was incredibly entertaining.
I worked some horribly long shifts my last couple of days. 12 hours, no big deal.
I worked my last shift and got off sometime around 6, I think. I met up with Jay and we rode Toy Story Mania three (four?) times, Rock N Rollercoaster twice, both times in the front, and Tower of Terror. It was a great way to say goodbye to Hollywood Studios. After that we went to Magic Kingdom and closed it down. Pictures to follow!
The next day was graduation, which was more like waiting in line to get your ears/gift (cute little memory box)/picture with Mickey and Minne, but was still really cool! (Pictures to follow.) After graduation I went straight to the airport and had a lovely 13 hours of travel back home (thanks Southwest!!).
Turns out I was not able to go seasonal with the company, Disney changed some policies and, long story short, no CP was able to. This really disappointed a lot of people, but for me just kind of confirmed that I really should never, ever step foot in Florida again. And I’m very much okay with that.
Be happy to know that I have cleansed my pallet and returned to the holy land of Disneyland on three separate occasions (most recently for a five day vacation), and will be back there in January.
Looking back, I am so grateful for this experience. It was fun, challenging, and beyond unique. Plus I will always have something to talk about with anyone who has even the slightest interest in Disney (which is every person I talk to). I love The Walt Disney Company and I still pinch myself when I think about how I was a part of it for six months.
I came very close to doing another CP, this time at Disneyland, but declined the offer.
As of now, I’m living at home, going to school for my AA/working on transfer plans, and nannying. Really different from what I was doing six months ago, but that’s fine. I’m happy and have some pretty great plans that I am confident will happen.
 Yay! Â
We’ve got apple pie, jazz and musical theater.

Had to say farewell to my long lost best friend yesterday. Thanks for making Orlando 1000 times more enjoyable. I can't wait for October - we will consume all the macarons and Oprah Chai Tea possible! #MeetMeInStPortland#katespademakesfriends #blessed #hashtagÂ
Around the world last week at Epcot!
Mexico, Germany (GERMAN Pride because I'm GERMAN!), China, Italy, and Paris.
That ice cream was "apple cinnamon crumble crunch" or something ridiculous like that. It was also the best thing ever.Â
I've been the worst blogger in the world the past couple weeks! SO busy though. I got my final schedule - my last day of work is Wednesday, July 30th and I leave the 31st! I can't believe I get to go home in eight days! I also can't believe I'm about to say this, but I am going to miss this place a little bit. Okay, maybe not Orlando itself, but some of the people here for sure. And the work. I really do enjoy it. I already had to say my first difficult goodbye to my friend Hannah, but I'll get to see her in October when she comes to the West Coast! Yay!
I started packing tonight, and let me tell you - those airtight space-saving bags are AMAZING! Holy cow. I mean I still think I'll either need three checked bags or go over the weight limit, but I'm still doing pretty well.Â
Anyway, I'm just enjoying my last week and a half here, trying to do as much as possible. Oh - I also decided to go seasonal with the company, which means as long as I work 150 hours a year, and at least once every six months, I will remain a cast member! (Disneyland for FREE!!!) So that's something exciting.Â
A tough angle, but #makeitwork
Had fireworks duty last week. I won't lie, it was pretty boring. But I guess that just means everyone was being safe? After I put up my barricade to block off the road, I didn't see a single soul. So, I did squats and lunges all around the area. I was SO bored. When the fireworks finally started (about an hour and a half after I had been at my station) they scared the CRAP out of me! I put in my earplugs, sat in a pargo (fancy word for golf cart) and watched the fireworks that were directly above my face.

The Duea's came to Florida!! I love this family and absolutely loved hanging with Elliott and Joy at Magic Kingdom for a night :)
Yoo-Hoo! Big Summer Blow Out! Frozen has taken over Hollywood Studios, and I get to be a part of it! I've worked a couple shifts over at Frozen Funland (there's ice skating and a snow play area, merchandise and Frozen treats) and it's been great!
