The trauma on Macâs body in the recent days proved to be too much for the untriggered wolf and not only did she suffer for it but the unborn child she was still for the most part unsure existed. Her uncle Dan mentioned it in passing while in the whale but Macâs mind was a thousand miles away trying to think of she would even make it out alive that evening and if Chris would be there when or if she did. Her body shutting down on her was to be expected and when she felt the warmth of life back in her but with an icy chill that ran down her spine her eyes fluttered opened, aware of the weight of another over her. Not enough to cause discomfort but clearly there, âDa-? Oh my god, Chris? Daddy, what did you do?â She questioned her father as she brushed her husbands hair out of his face looking at the blood running down from his nose. âDid you hit him?â Mac was outraged and worried by the look of him âIs he even okay?â She asks in a panicked tone dispite the fact some tall young man started humming to himself and softly breaks out âIâm still alive but barely breathing.â tapping his feet to the melody of the song in his head and she tried her hardest to ignore it, âWhat happened?â She continues to question her father trying to drown out the obnoxiousness.Â
Each breath Nic mustered was laboured an uneven as his digits tightened around his daughtersâ, willing for her to open her eyes. The adrenaline coursing through his veins felt almost physically painful and his eyes widened as Chris protested his words, causing for him to shake his head within disbelief, âwhat the hell do you mean no? we have to get her help.â The wolfâs voice was now raised as he argued within retort and his jaw tightened as Chris made it clear that he believed he could save the both of them. At first, Nic hadnât understood the otherâs intentions, he was still hellbent upon getting his daughter to the infirmary, until the murmurs began to fall from the lips of the other and Nic shifted uncomfortably within his position. âWhat â what are you doing?â
His tone was disjointed as he questioned Chrisâ actions, forcing himself to recoil upon the ground as the onyx veins appeared upon Chrisâ features before transferring to Macâs flesh. He watched on within disbelief as the blood began to disappear and Nicâs hand extended towards his son-in-law as he began to fall limp. âChris, Jesus christ, Chris?â Just as rapidly as Nic had begun to question the other, Macâs frame began to reanimate, and her mirroring hues looked upon Nicâs own and questioned what it was he had done to her husband. âI â I didnât do anythingâ he protested, still enslaved to his turmoil for all he had just witnessed as he pushed a trembling hand backwards through his unkempt locks, âhe, heâs a witch? Or â or warlock, or whatever - Jesus, Mac, wha-â The interruption from the bystander caused for an irritated growl to urge from Nicâs lips as he forced for himself to ignore it. âWhat the fuck just happened? ⌠youâre okay?â
Mac runs a hand over her husbands forehead brushing his hair back and looking him over, âHeâs got blood on his nose.â She points out, not wanting to accuse her father but if a busted nosed husband looks like a busted nose husband she had to jump to the idea that was presented to her. When he brought up Chris being a witch she frowns confused, was this him pushing his limits with magic. âHeâs a hybrid sort of...his mom was a witch and his dad a wolf. Did I forget to mention that?â She never thought it was a big deal personally but maybe she could see why someone would be stalled and shocked to find out. Her eyes went from her knocked out husband to her frantic father and Macâs head was spinning, âI-I donât know what is going on...I felt terrible. I remember being in pain and then just passing out.â She ignored the sheer memory of being told by her uncle Dan about a baby, it seemed like too much to handle all at once at the moment. âI feel fine.â She frowns again, âDid Chris do this? He could have died! Daddy is he okay?â Panic started to flood the young untriggered wolf as she rolled Chris to his side and pats his face to try and rise him. âBaby, wake up. Chris?â
