Teen Wolf AU - Fratboy!Derek Verse: 

In a world in which the Hales are alive and healthy, Derek grew up to be a very self-confident kind of cocky college student who enjoys living life to the fullest and not denying himself simple pleasures; like drinking with his fratboy buddies, playing sports, or, you know, gangly, awkward, sarcastic and nerd-tastic teenagers who catch his eye. Stiles is just here to study, thank you very much. He’s not going to be distracted by unfairly good-looking, charming and kind of arrogant fellow students who think the world revolves around them. He’s not. Even when he discovers Derek isn’t half as dumb and a billion times nicer than he originally thought.

Derek turns to leave when Stiles near-shouts, “This is weird! Right,” he adds. Derek looks over his shoulder at him. “That you’re giving me a key to your place. Seems a little fast.”

Derek rolls his eyes and turns back toward the door. “Have a good night.”

Stiles will never admit how many times he went over to Derek’s loft in the intervening weeks since Derek’s disappearance. Sometimes he goes over when the landlord calls about leaky pipes or an odd sound. Sometimes he goes over when he has a hard time sleeping. Sometimes he goes over when he misses Boyd and Erica. Going to Derek’s place has become so normal that when Derek does finally come home, the whole place reeks of teenage boy and Stiles Stilinski.

"Thanks for checking up on the place," Derek smiles from the doorway of his bedroom. Stiles is half-asleep (well, now fully awake) in Derek’s bed.

"This seems fast," Derek continues. "You being in my bed and all."

"You started it!" Stiles squawks, and Derek puts a single knee down into the mattress. Stiles’ face reddens. "With the. The key." Derek can see Stiles’ mouth open slightly, like he wants to say more but he also physically can’t, not while Derek is stalking toward him across the bed. "What is happening right now?"

"I gave you my key," Derek says softly.

"For…," Stiles trails off. Then his eyes open wide and Derek can almost see the lightbulb go off above his head. “You actually gave me a key to your place for sex?”

Derek peels off his jacket. “I dunno. I’m not great at this sort of thing.”

"Shut up, shut up,” Stiles hisses, scrambling forward and kissing him soundly. “Scott is never going to believe this.”
