what am i even doing anymore. i am so tired.

anyway i haven’t ever played ariel this old ‘cause usually she’d be McDead by now, but i decided to shake things up a bit mainly bc i love her with all my heart and soul so now i guess i gotta flesh this out huh

anyway, basically ariel left hogwarts even more confused then when she began. she knew she wanted to make a difference in the world, to be the change that she had so stubbornly demanded during her years at school, but with grades far too pathetic to get her into the auror program and no one from the order having reached out just yet, she felt worthless.

she jumped from job to job ( mainly bartending, #alcoholic ) for three years in the wizarding world, trying to find anyone who might help her get into the auror training program ( the only job she has ever wanted rip ) before eventually deciding she was a lost cause and retreating to the muggle world with her legal guardian for two years. she just didn’t believe that she had anything to give to the wizarding world anymore, she had tried again and again to help people, to make a difference, but nothing had ever come of it --- perhaps the muggle world was where she was truly needed.

to the surprise of utterly no one, it was not. ariel tried to put herself through university, but no one would accept her. she tried to get a proper job but everyone wanted proper credentials that she could never get. she even tried protesting and activism for a little while before getting arrested for a couple days after a particularly nasty protest and scaring herself back to seclusion. the only good thing that came out of this time spent in seclusion was eva taylors --- a girl she met through a brief stint at the local cafe, who she eventually went on to date for twelve and a half months.

it was after eva dumped her ( citing her flighty attitude and complete lack of direction in life ) that ariel decided to return to wizarding culture, finding herself a tiny flat in hogsmeade where she lived independently for the first time in her life and continued working at the hogs head bar as a bartender.

upon returning, an old friend from hogwarts reached out to ariel and told her about the order ( OPEN CONNECTION ) --- they had been watching her before she had abandoned her life for the muggle world and had grown to trust her and now that she was back, they wanted her to join their ranks. of course, ariel absolutely jumped at the chance to do something worthwhile, something she had always wanted to do, and with this recruitment now up her sleeve, she felt her life turning around.

still unable to put herself into the auror program, she managed to find something kind of close --- a cursebreaker. after applying and getting rejected three times, it was her fourth application that was successful ( apparently resilience is a good trait to have when a cursebreaker ). not only was this awesome for her personally, finally having something to do with her previously useless life, but the order found this particularly intriguing too --- she is now one of many spies within the ministry who keeps an eye on things and looks out in particular for suspicious activity regarding strong curses. 

this whole intro is a mess i’m so tired.

still depressed, tho. still an alcoholic. as always. but perhaps with a bit more direction in life --- a bit more purpose and a kick up the ass that has gotten her far too invested in the war and its dealings. yikes.
