i am in tears. they both love macklin SO much.

also, leaning into rpf speculation here (rick celebrini defenders look away), but do you ever think about how toff spent some time living with macklin in vancouver and training with rick this summer and immediately went, “holy fuck, that was insane. i need to be nicer to this kid”?

because last year, it seemed as if toff loved willmack but got tired of their shit pretty quickly, telling them to leave him alone or straight up ignoring them when they were being a nuisance. this year, he seems to be so much closer to mack and more lenient with mack’s wildness (the pre-game nose touch ritual, the roughing on the bench, the way they’re always photographed hanging together or playing board games together or being side by side).

it could potentially just be them getting closer in year two, but the main change i feel is related to the time toff spent in bc. like it was one thing to know how hard rick trained his sons through news articles and the occasional stories mack mentioned. but to live through it, even just for a few days?
