it's fucking me up how tv shows, movies, and even video games can't be "niche" content anymore

I don't know if anyone pointed this out, but I noticed that Walter's dialogue after your license gets authenticated is different in NG++, and it might suggest something. I don't have any clips of it right now, but I think Walter says something like "You have plenty of experience. You'll be able to handle whatever Rubicon throws at you," in NG++, and does not say anything like that in NG. (After all, it wouldn't really make sense for him to say that in NG because it takes place right after the first mission.) This might suggest that Walter is at least somewhat aware of the "time loop" some fans have speculated the player is stuck in.
