it is intensely irritating how a Platform feels like a vaguely necessary attribute within the current zeitgeist, like if your resume doesn't have your social clout listed with your virality index it feels like trying to interact with the world with your dick hanging out. It shouldn't feel like I'm underdressed simply because I spent a good chunk of time aggressively deplatforming myself whenever I felt like I was becoming Known, for reasons entirely mine, but there's a sense that being a hermit is akin to self-destruction, that refusing to sign my art is effectively digging a grave. In certain respects I know that has to do with being a social creature but I think my main gripe is feeling the grip of a whisper economy upon us all that hinges on whether one can demonstrate their posting gland's efficacy over like, being a human being worth time and care. No one should have to demonstrate their ability to bring the algorithm under their thumb to be heard. Yet I feel it. How tedious.
