Just a mini Janka timeskip AU where Zanka and Riyo take on Enjin's role as Cleaners and take his influence with them as they become parents leaders of their own teams. Jabber leaves the Raiders and becomes more of a merc for hire. Zanka will occasionally call up Jabber for more intense missions that might need his "special" skill set.

It's September. The sunlight is dancing through sand-colored hair the same way that it does through the endless wheat fields ahead of them. The air is warm, almost inconceivable against sun kissed skin.

Juno focuses her eyes back on the large, green ones in front of her, trying in vain to pretend that she's been listening.

“So, what do you think? Gray or blue?”

Right, the art show. They were supposed to finish the piece by tomorrow. Honestly, Juno couldn't care less about it right now. The seniors win all the prizes anyway, and everything year that they've signed up so far ended in a disaster. But… seeing that stupid excited grin on his face…

“Gray. If we use blue, the waves will clash with the background.”

“... Right. Can't have too much color in the painting, huh?”

Ray nudges her playfully, a sly grin on his face.

“Gray it is, then.”

He shifts a little to lay his head on Juno's lap, his eyes closing as he takes in the stillness of the field.

Slowly, almost instinctively, Juno runs her pale hand through golden curls, watching them stretch and bounce back under her fingertips.
