People need to understand how an environment can create a personality. Mako has been an orphan since 8 years old, grew up on the streets, took care of bolin and joined the triple triads and most of these things require a very harsh/serious personality, he had to become a parent that wasn't there for him at a very young age, I repeat. And bolin representes the fun brother that tries to put all his truama behind so he doesn't get hurt,bolin himself is a soft person but we can see that he has changed thru out the seasons,he realized that not everything will come easy especially when working with a dictator and growing up. I will always admire both of the brothers because everyone of them has the thing that makes them special in their own way.
