taylor swift's new album includes the lyric "did you girlboss too close to the sun" and rolling stone gave it a 5/5. post your bad art
being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?
adopt a prompt
leave a prompt, take a prompt --
I'll go first: a chemistry phD student turns to witchcraft in a desperate attempt to prove their thesis to their conservative professor.
quick question! are your prompts for other people/writers to use with credit or your personal prompts for people to request? sorry if there's an obvious answer to this somewhere on your blog, I was just wondering 🤍
hi -- unless you're posting it to another platform (in which case I would like credit!!) all prompts are fair game for personal use & inspiration. if you do use them though, I love reading others' work, so you can tag me for that also!
thanks for asking :]

the life of a showgirl prompts
sleazy business dealings hidden behind swaths of glitter
a lipstick print on a shimmering neck
lowered eyes, husky voices, fingers searching for coins
the scream of applause drowning out exhaustion
stepping along in sky-high heels to a thrumming heartbeat
late nights, concealer-covered eye bags, unglamorous monday mornings
makeup brushes shared between lazy fingers
picking up languages over time, speaking just enough to entertain
glitter on the floor of the cabaret the morning after
applying makeup over tear-stained cheeks
a new identity with a new costume, a new life in a new city
faces glistening with sweat and tears after a performance, chest rising and lowering faster than you can breathe
growing numb to glitter and parties, disassociating in the glamour
empty apartments that only see a few hours of sleep, lives left behind
soft feathers over hard muscle
the balance of a day and night job; callused fingers into jazz hands, slick buns into curled blowouts
ruby red lips dipping into a martini glass, leaving behind a stain
alcohol poured with poison
dancers moving in and out of rotation, lifelong friends never seen again
at the end of the day, effort and desperation lost to the glitz and drama
august, and hopeful scenic prompts
warm flash storms and the cool mist after
the last long stretches of summer; slow daylight and lazy afternoons
sitting without speaking, legs intertwined
being able to go down the street and see people rocking back and forth on their porches, in quiet conversation
studying what you feel like; remember what it's like to enjoy learning again
walking around after sunset, stumbling over words, saying whatever comes to mind
the last new buds pushing up through fragile soil
reading books and poetry
breathless secrets, being able to think through feelings for the first time
plants craning towards the sun, soaking up every ray that beams down for as long as they can
fresh notebooks and inky pens
open-toed sandals and breezy blouses, the taste of citrus and sea salt
escape through time, through moments feeling longer and shorter than they should
the end, and the beginning, all over again
So, I guess as a middle range millennial, I now get to tell all you young queer kids that what you are feeling right now is exactly how it felt in 2004 when we re-elected George Bush, and not only that but many states put in bans against gay/same sex marriage at the time.
This is probably not comforting, but it is true, and it helps me when I feel hopeless: For every revolution there is a counter revolution, for every step forward there is a step back, that things may not be good forever but they will not be bad, either. That we clawed our way to get where we are and we can claw our way forward from here, too. Talk to your queer elders, the ones who have been here before and will be here again and who threw bricks at Stonewall.
When I was a child, if you got AIDS it was a death sentence. Now it isn't. Now you live on.
So I'll quote angels in america: You are fabulous creatures, each and every one. And I bless you: More Life. The Great Work Begins.
Please, spread this for those who might need it right now

We are a very very dumb, stupid people
Everyone deserves a little outlet today, grab a yummy snack, skirt a responsibility, play a cozy game - but no one is allowed to punish themselves on behalf of other’s ignorance. No one is allowed to keel over. Be a thorn in their side every day, and most importantly, be your own advocator. We live in spite of these people.

camp nanowrimo packing list
water!! or a pretty drink to keep you motivated as you work
a comfy blanket or stuffed animal to keep you company
shoes, for when you go outside and touch grass after realizing it's been three days and you have 500 words
a nice-smelling candle, unless you're prone to leaving them to explode in the other room
(technically 4b) a fire extinguisher
snacks for energy and because you deserve them!
a book, for when you run into a writing slump and need inspiration
a movie, for the same reasons as above but maybe you're a little bit lazier (it's okay)
a pillow for naps to give you energy
a change of clothes because maybe you write better not in pjs
treats for when you accomplish something you're proud of (that can be as simple as just starting)
a trash bag for your red pens, because this is writing season and not editing season
headphones and good music
all the luck for camp!! see you again in november <3

anything but just "I love you"
I want to love you.
I think I can love you?
Let me love you.
I loved you.
I would love you.
I can try to love you.
I used to know how to love you (I don't anymore)
I still love you.
Do you love me?
Can you try to love me?
I can't stop loving you.
Let me try to love you.
I think I can love you.
I think I can try (to love you).
Do you still love me?
Did you ever love me?
I don't think I could ever love you.
Don't let me love you.
I gave up (loving you).
You made me love you.
I've always loved you (but I can't anymore).
