I've been inactive for a while, and I want to get back into using this blog as a langblr/studyblr. So hi, this is my new reintro/welcome post to find new mutuals/let you know what's going on here. Will every post be study related no probably not but I'm going back to my roots.

Some personal info:
♡ Name: Weng, but my nickname is Eden, if that's easier. Technically Weng is also a shortening of my name, but who really cares. ♡ Age: 23 ♡ Area of study: linguistics. I'm specifically interested in language acquisition, but I also love translation, morphology, and historical linguistics. ♡ Filipino-American ♡ I'm really interested in language, obviously.
Languages I speak/study:
🇺🇸 English - Native level. 🇵🇭 Tagalog - I just get worse and worse every year. Whatever the Tagalog equivalent of "no sabo" is. 🇻🇪 Spanish - I used to be pretty advanced, but at this point it's in dormancy so I'm only conversational these days. I'm specifically interested in Caribbean varieties like Venezuelan and Cuban Spanish. 🇮🇩 Indonesian - My first love! Intermediate-or-so. I started because I was interested in Austronesian languages, and it was my main target language for about three years. I'm less focused on it lately, but I will always love it. It's like Tagalog's fun sister to me. 🇹🇭 Thai - My primary focus lately, but still pretty elementary. I got interested because learning about Balinese dance was a pipeline to learning about Thai dance, and I've also become interested in Thai dramas, music, and history since then. 🇯🇵 Japanese - I'm only dabbling, so like N6 if that's a thing. I learned a little for a trip I went on earlier this year, but I'm thinking about taking it seriously because it's just so fun lol.
I've also studied Korean, French, and German in the past, but they're all dormant/forgotten so I wouldn't count those. I'm really drawn to Mandarin, Yue, Khmer, Javanese, and Burmese, so it might be cool one day to learn a little bit. There's too many languages in the world, I fear.
Other facts:
♡ I'm very interested lately in techno, ambient, folk, experimental, and world music, but I really do like any genre. ♡ I actually considered both anthropology, religious studies, and philosophy before deciding to study linguistics, but they're still huge interests for me. ♡ Kind of nerdy, but besides language learning conlanging is also a big hobby for me. ♡ I do, unfortunately, enjoy BL dramas. You will find BL gifs on my blog. I'm gay. I'm not going to apologize for this one. Lol. ♡ I love pink, and it will be found everywhere I have ever been long after I'm gone. ♡ I'm very interested in divination practices (tarot cards, astrology, BaZi, etc.), even though I don't really believe in it. I think there's a lot of beauty in their symbolism and methods, even if I don't personally believe in them.
