Current Cashapp Savings are almost 29% of the way there (I’m using my own sliding scale values)

I’ve been here in the amazing state of Washington now for almost seven years and I’ve not missed this event once! This was the first time my baby wasn’t with me as she had to work. 😫😫😫

I was able to get some sick work done (over 300 photos taken and awaiting editing), and since I’m shooting mostly JPEG now I don’t really focus on in post editing really. (Granted some of them actually need it and that’s why I set the camera up to shoot both Fine+JPEG files.

I was off from work today and scrolling something to watch as to take my mind off the irony of not wanting to have to work my life away to now (on off days) not having anything to occupy my time and WORK starts to creep in. So, I couch potato mode out and scroll the streaming services to find something to occupy my idleness and lo and behold I fucking find out that my childhood has come full circle when I find that TALES FROM THE MUTHAFUCKIN CRYPT (sorry for cussing) was on TUBI!!!!!!!! The nostalgia hit like a truck yet as children (I was born in 1985 for context) we don't fully understand what it is we are watching so long as its engaging. Oh boy oh boy I get now why me and my cousins snuck up to watch this back in the day.

Watching this is a treat as an adult as I understand more now what it is that the theme is in every single episode (ALL GODDAMN 7 SEASE0NS ARE ON TUBI) better than I did as a child and am starting to realize some things about EVERY SINGLE THING that our parents tried to shield us from by using "wholesome" ways to engage us. This is only one example of that as the very things (cartoons, Disney, etc) was made for adults because of hidden ways to keep our parents engaged when we wanted to watch ALLADIN for the 5th time in one day from the adult themes carefully planted within.

In closing I am only saying this,

"I love rewatching things like this as an adult because the lens is completely different and it changes how we rememeber things.

So now I feel as if I may replace the Canon 90D and lens ecosystems I’ve built with the more compact Fujifilm mirrorless camera. I’m keeping the 90D and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 beast for “paid” work, and the latter for my own artistic visions.

Time will tell…….

When I was a shorty, I have the fondest memories of spending summers in Mississippi with my Grandaddy, and Nanù is what I remember calling big cuzzo, Tee Noonie was too immature so Big Pop legal strongarrmed the situation like a Boss. Thass why he grew up with Big Pop (my Tee Noonie Pops)

I was really young during these memories, some things are clearer than others, but i remember I placed him high on the totem pole.

Nanù taught me a lot about how to deal with life without having any control over what happens to others when you don’t have the ability to deal with yourself right, and how control was an illusion people lied to themselves about.

This carried on until life ducked us down into the muck from recessions, economic stagnation, and financial uncertainty.He was the only one capable of making it back up. Big bastard rose up in ranks til big whigs win over companies that needed crane people. But then say word and OOOOFAAHMMMMMM…..Economy imploded in the Gulf first someshit (ground zero, it was nasty and dishonorable how there was no oversight that protected my cuzzo and big bro sat big in a crane, my kin was an operator.)

Shoutouts to Lux coffee in the McKinley Hill neighborhood for having an episode of my new favorite zine to read! I was out on delivery too no less and the moment I saw the location it dawned on me that I might be able to catch a copy of the newest edition of Underground Sound (see the picture attachment at the bottom of this article). Spring has passed all too soon and I’ve come to find yet another thing to love Washington for, Tacoma in spring! All the colors from the wildflowers blooming and the smell of sage and rosemary is heavenly in ways new to me now that I’ve sorted out my trauma and fought my demons back these last 6yrs. (Heroin was a goddamn trip and damn near wiped me off the face of the planet, no respawn type shit, and for damn near two decades!)
