Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand this is.how.it’s. DONE
couch story!! dont try this at home
the setting: world market
subject: me, a couchless 20 year old
victim: dumb ass gullible SA who was a teen and probably high
this took a lot of planning. lots of phone calls. scanning website as to what I want. finding out manager’s name… email… phone… etc
*walks in*
Hi there! I spoke to ___ (manager) about the ___ (model name) couch.
*shows SA email that I made up that is identical to manager’s email but instead of i it was L*
Email thread went something the lines of
“Hi I am interested in couch blahbah heres my credit card info”
“ Hi random customer *this doesnt seem fake at all* I will run this through and send you an online receipt”
*shows SA online receipt that I made that was horribly photoshopped*
“yeah so I already spoke to ___ about the couch and she said it would be ready when I got here and I dont have a lot of time could you please help me with it?”
I literally got the DA to put the couch on a rolly thing and bring it to my truck
I tipped her $10
this was so dumb and Im honestly surprised that this worked. dont try this,, dont be afraid to take advantage of the gulliblness (not a word I know) of shy teens who dont know what theyre doing and will do anything to avoid being yelled at. that sounds horrible but hey…. i have a couch
The importance of taking a break.
It’s a hugely important thing to take a break from lifting, if possible. If you’re lifting to survive, then not being able to lay off is understandable.
But when you are able, chill out for a while. A break now will further your lifting abilities in the long run. It gives you a chance to truly shop as a normal person. You can build a rapport with the sales staff. Building rapport and trust is invaluable if you live in a smallish city whose stores tend to have employees who have been there for years and know your face and even your name. If you become a trusted regular, your chances of being watched and suspected go way, WAY down.
Another advantage of taking a break is being able to regroup yourself. Some of us get to the point where we lift without even thinking about it. This leads to sloppiness and errors, just shoving crap in our bags without even checking for tags or cameras, etc. Not good.
Taking a break is the most important thing you can do sometimes. Sometimes my breaks range up to nine months or a year. It just depends on where I am mentally and financially, and it’s most important to take breaks from stores you frequent on a very regular basis (again, super important if you live in a smaller city, or don’t have the ability to travel very far, and thus are reduced to a small selection.)
Everyone knows about the master list right?
Just in case some don’t, it has security details on most stores, including camera info and tagging frequency. I always read this over for the stores I’m gonna hit just in case :)

happy birthday to me 🤩 here’s to a week of lifting
A lil baby haul
how do you sneaky bitches conceal large clothing items on the floor?
i can barely slip in a pair of panties behind a rack at uo. how are summa yall shoving sweaters in ur bag in the middle of the store
I’ve done this once with a pink sweater since the counted going in and out of the fitting room. So what I did was I had the untagged sweater at the very bottom of a stack of four or five clothes hanging on my arm. As I walked around the store I discretely folded the sweater underneath until it would be the right size to just slip into my bag. Practice folding items at home and it should only take you a few seconds without even having to look at it. So the you know those displays that have clothes hung on them that you can just part? Part one and make it look like you’re looking for your size while putting the sweater in your bag on the other hand. If you do it well enough the clothing rack blocks the front of you, your body blocks one side and behind you, and the stack of clothes on your other hand blocks that side. If you conceal really fast it just looks like the clothes on your arm were a bit heavy so you were just adjusting your grip on them.
Lifter Alert: You Are Being Tracked
I just read some articles on some new technology some stores are using to track people in their store and across entire malls. I could get into technicalities, but the baseline of it is that stores are using your phone’s wifi pings to get information about your searches, personal info, and most alarmingly, an address specific to your phone. This system is not only able to accurately track where you are in the store live, but is also able to tell if you’ve visted the store before, how often, how long ago, and which areas you’ve visited most often.
This system of tracking is not only an exposure of privacy for shoppers, but also dangerous for lifters. The solution most people reccommend in response is to completely disable wifi, though I would personally take it safe and just turn on airplane mode while I lift. The idea of being so precisely tracked is scary, and luckily only a few stores, mostly high end like Marks and Spencers, but also casual places like Topshop have this tracking system so far.
Be aware and stay safe everyone!
Signal boost 🚨🚨🚨
Omg definitely turning on airplane mode in every shop I go
Okay. Ex-hacktivist and experienced computer user here. There’s a few problems with this post.
“Wifi pings” aren’t real. The PING function on a device verifies that a particular IP address is online. Nothing more. It gives away no location or any other data.
IP addresses are indeed specific to your phone, but are renewed regularly and can be easily hidden with a VPN. Seriously. It’s not that hard.
Stores dont have the cybersecurity resources to do most of what you’re saying. Take it from me, folks. I’ve worked at several cybersecurity firms that didn’t even have this supposed level of resources. You cant track people that easily, unless you own services the person uses. The only way a store can track you like this is if they partner with Google to get your location (via Google maps’s location services) or if you download a store’s app and it has access to your location. Otherwise they cant really get it, at least not easily! Just dont be stupid online and nothing is going to happen. Also, dont connect to a stores wifi. They can get info from you that way too.
Either this post is mad bullshit, the interpretation of the articles is mad bullshit, or the articles themselves are mad bullshit. Don’t “signal boost” this shit. I dont mean to attack the creator of this post, but all this is doing is creating hysteria that is completely unnecessary. If you have any further questions feel free to ask me. I’ve been in IT for over 10 years.
Reblogging this for a second time because it’s going around the community again without this addition
first haul post yall imma call this one… the panty raid

went a bit crazy today lmfao
total: i don’t know lol
📚 Barnes and Nob.le Tips 📚
!! disclaimer: these are what have worked for me, i say try this after a little bit of lifting experience !!
☁️ okay so, here are some tiny rules for this (and in general for lifting): ☁️
🌱 don’t get greedy
- if they see you carrying a whole bunch of books around the store, they’ll keep their eye on you. stores want to make their daily goal and depending on the location, the b&n may have more attentative employees.
🌱 grab some books you may not want
- this is best if you conceal on the floor instead of the cafe, because they might see you w/ like 4 books but suddenly 0? have like 2 you’re not gonna get and put them back where they belong and leave.
🌱 check for tags
- from the tips ive received any book that is above $40 dollars, is hardcover, or in the medical section, all have rfid tags embedded in them. do not attempt!!! for paperbacks, “read” through them. you might find a rfid sticker in there, just peel it out. you’ll find these more in manga, but always check!!
☁️ now time for blindspot and concealing tips!!: ☁️
🌱 b&n cafe
- in my opinion the best place to conceal is inside the b&n cafe, you find a table not too close to the cafe register and place your bag and books on the table. then what i do is take out my wallet (leave my bag open), head to the register and order some food, a snack, or a drink. get my receipt and go back to my table. i then put my wallet on one of the books, hold it together and put it in my purse.
- while eating you can read through the books, making sure there’s no rfids, and slowly put them in your purse or shopping bag.
- what ive done once is ask my partner or friend to call me and i fake having to rush and leave, so i stuff the books in my bag and leave while on the phone w them (do this after checking for rfids)
🌱 concealing on floor
- find your blindspots!! this is a known rule here but it bears repeating, find your blindspots!!! if you’re going to conceal in an aisle, make sure theres no cameras above you or infront of you (there’s bookshelf cameras!!)
- i like to conceal while sitting on the mini sofas because your purse is in your lap and its a quick sleight of hand to put the book in it. find a chair/sofa in a blindspot!!
- and i see teens do this a lot, sit on the floor in the aisles and “read”, its so common to see that at b&n that some SA’s wont bat their eye
🌱 kid’s section
- this has its own part because the kids section at b&n usually doesnt have cameras, but they do have: at least one SA walking around (and the kids section isn’t exactly the biggest), and parents and kids who might be able to see you conceal. so be careful here
i haven’t lifted stationary and accessories at b&n yet so please feel free to add more to this!!! and if i missed anything or was wrong in some of these add that too!!! i hope this helps some of y’all!!! 💓💓💓
I just want to say in some locations there are RFID towers before you enter the cafe. At least that’s the way it was in my closest location. But thank you!!!
