Genji raised a hand. “I apologize, I do not mean it in such a way. I merely meant that someone had maliciously left you here, not that you chose to be here.”

He looked around. “I think only the very hardy…or very eccentric…would come to a place like this.” He mused, before turning back to Becq. “What is a…Vault Hunter?”

“What- what’s a Vault Huntah?” Becq had to chuckle a bit, “You really must be new around here then; it’s one of the only decent ways to scrape a livin’ around here. Basically this planet is riddled with various vaults left by some ancient race; one as a prison, ‘nother was a super weapon. Still a few left on here on planet, but there are more across the galaxy. We get paid basically to see what’s in them.”

He shrugged, “On the side I deliver packages and mail for residents, makes for a nice sense of ‘normalcy’, or closest you can get here on Pandora.”

Genji thought over the explanation for a moment. “Ah, so it is sort of like an expedition, in a way. Interesting…” He mused. “It must be a very profitable venture then. I can’t imagine it is an easy career though.” He rested a hand on his chin. “Hmm, perhaps I should try my hand at it, given it does not seem like I will be finding a way home for a while…”

“You deliver? Surely you do not do it all on foot, given how large the land seems to be?”

The courrier gave the armored ninja a look over, “Well, you seem protected enough, and Moxxie could probably fix you up if you need it, but those swords aren’t going to last you that long on their own. Even the ninja we got round here, Zer0, he prefers sniper rifles.”

Nodding towards what looked like a small garage, Becq motioned for his new comapnion to follow, “Beauty of Pandora, the Catch-A-Ride system. We got Scooter up in Pandora who basically runs it and is able to digi-struct all kinds of vehicles for us.”

Reaching the garage, Becq pointed to two vending machines off to the side of the building, “Suggest you take a look and pick up some ammo and at least a pistol.”

"We usually only see skags or other bandits and stuff around here, not handsome guys! Today must be a lucky day!" The young, upstart bandit/scavenger exclaims, looking over Becq. (Haven't drawn him yet but I'll throw in my Borderlands!Ray.)

Seeing the bandit, Becq drew his sidearm, “Woah there, just need to get through here to deliver a package. Don’t want any trouble, just doing my job.” Of course the delivery guy was going to be on edge around a bandit; he’d been shot at too many times by them for the packages he was delivering. Didn’t matter how cute they looked, a job was a job.

"Typical Pandora. You say hello to a cute guy and he pulls a gun to your face. And the boys back at the hideout wonder why I don’t date.” Ray mumbled to himself, sighing as he shrugged. “Look, I’m not here to cause trouble. I’m out to do some scavenging and happened to run into you.”

He grinned. “Can you blame me for wanting to chat up a cute guy? Let’s be honest, most of the guys in this crazy place don’t exactly have pretty faces.”

“Don’t blame you at all.” Becq smirked as he lowered his pistol slightly, not because he was getting buttered up, but rather because he knew most bandits weren’t smart enough to come up with some elaborate trap to bait travelers like this which did bring up a thought...

“You don’t seem as antsy and eager to murder than other bandits...”Becq raised an eyebrow, “Seem to have a fair bit of sanity left, so why aren’t you in Sanctuary? Easier place to hold out compared to well, out here.”

Becq nodded as he leaned back, polishing his pistol, “Well, when you’re the only reliable delivery man in a hellhole of bandits, mutated creatures, and a megalomaniac has you in their crosshair, you learn to be fast on your feet if you want to make a livin’.”

He looked the cybernetic being over, “So, you’s a cyborg or more of a ‘bot? I’ve met my share o’both where i’m from.”

“Sounds like you come from an…interesting place.” Genji responded with a small chuckle and a curious tilt of the head. “Though I suppose that would give a reason to hone your running speed.”

“Me? I suppose you could call me a cyborg, yes. Though I’m more machine than man these days.”

Most people who approached him in new places typically knew who he was and the enemies he’d made…this one though didn’t seem to be in the loop however.

“Well, I am hoping to find out just where I’ve stumbled into, and you are the only person I’ve seen around this area. I have met others but they were…hostile, to put it lightly.” Genji explained, shrugging.

“It’s quite barren this place, isn’t it?”

Chuckling, Becq stood back up, “Yup, doesn’t help that when the local bandits see you, they’re probably seein’ their weight in Iridium if’in they can sell you to Hyperion.”

Walking over to the stranger, Becq placed a hand on his shoulder before sweeping his hand across the horizon, “Welcome to Pandora! A backwatah planet home where those on the run can hide from the law an scrape out a living-” He then pauses before his voice goes flat, “-or in my case get dumped here by your corporate overlords to prevent ya from alerting your co-workers about mass layoff.”

“Bandits? Ah, those men that tried to assault me a moment ago.” He rested a hand on his chin. “Speaking of which, I would not recommend going that way. I…left a mess, so to speak.”

The ninja looked around as he was introduced to the new land he found himself in. “That is…an interesting description. So wanted criminals and the abandoned live here…” He mused. “I suppose that does explain on why it is so…rough-looking and aggressive.”

“Whatever your blades did can’t be much for what a Mawalian Acid SMG can do to a Skag.” Becq shrugs, “Trust me, it reeks and is an ugly sight.”

He paused, “Hey hey hey, I wasn’t ‘abandoned’ mate! It was corporate retaliation! You think I chose to get stranded on this rock? I’m just lucky I met up with the Vault Hunters when I did!”
