Becq Candela: The Courier
If you needed something to be shipped across the galaxy quickly and efficiently, you call on Kesselton Delivery. Sure, Hyperion has their moonshot canons for mass delivery loads, but Kesselton specializes in your typical package deliveries.
Among Kesselton’s Express Delivery department, Becq was one of the top rated delivery personal with a gleaming record. So when an order was put through that had an expensive express delivery add-on, Becq was entrusted by management to deliver the package to a backwater planet named Pandora.
After arriving on planet, Becq decided to travel by train to the final destination...only to make the mistake of boarding a Vault Hunter train. It was only once the train started to get attacked by Hyperion bots and engineers did Becq realize that he had fucked up.
Along with the other actual Vault Hunters, the Kesselton delivery man found himself rescued by Claptrap. However, unlike the other Vault Hunters who were trained killers, Becq had no experience...or training...or weapons. His only hope was whatever he was delivering. Opening the package, he found odd barrel extensions for firearms inside, but was stunned to realize that said gizmos were capable of changing the properties of Pandora’s firearms in different an unique ways.
Using these tools to get to Sanctuary, while the rest of the Vault Hunters took off to go rescue Roland, Becq insisted on getting help to contact Kesselton to arrange a pickup from Pandora, claiming that the package he was supposed to deliver was destroyed in the train explosion. However, suspicion started to raise with Becq when the Kesselton representative claimed they couldn’t extract him until Jack and Hyperion ceased their firing upon the planet as it would be too risky for them to approach. As consolation, they tried to suggest that Becq start a Pandora branch of Kesselton on the planet to pass the time...but it was clear Becq wasn’t keen on hanging around Sanctuary or Pandora.
Almost as soon as Roland came back with the other Vault Hunters, a pissed off Becq came storming in to demand a better gun. If Kesselton wasn’t going to rescue him asap, he was going to have to hurry this war along...
Becq’s class ability is ‘Solarmods’; attachments he puts on the end of his guns to temporarily give them unique abilities.
Pistols will ignore shields (an enemy with shields, but no health will die)
SMGs temporarily gain infinite ammo (though will need to be reloaded)
Assault Rifles no longer fire bullets, but rather fire a beam of energy (eliminating bullet travel time)
Sniper Rifles bullets will pierce through enemies (allowing for him to kill multiple targets in one shot)
Wherever a Rocket Launcher round hits will be the target of a massive beam coming down from the sky.
For his Skill Trees, there are three areas to focus on: his mobility, SolarMod capabilities, and pistol usage
Speedy Delivery: Focusing on ways to boost Becq’s movement speed and inventory space, skills include
Faster sprint speed during daylight hours
Increased movement when carrying a quest item
Extending vehicle boost time & decreasing cooldown
After running a certain distance, Becq’s next shot will deal increased damage
Running to decrease shield recharge delay
Corona: Focusing on his SolarMods, Becq tinkers with them to make them even more powerful
Increasing active duration and reducing cooldown time
Chance to apply a ‘Blindness’ debuff onto enemies that can cause them to commit friendly fire
Add burning damage into the mix
Adding secondary benefits to certain weapon types (SMGs not needing to be reloaded and pistols damaging both shields and health at the same time for example)
Chance for grenades to apply blindness debuffs
Double-Action: While not the best shot, Becq favors pistols since their easy to carry. This tree focuses on improvements to reload speed, critical damage, and firing from the hip.
Reducing the kickback of pistols
Improving the accuracy of pistol shots while not aiming down the sights
Critical hits building up stacks of Adrenaline which boost the damage of his firearm
