1. Steve has some memory problems after getting so many concussions. Youâll be telling him about someone at work who annoyed you and he will completely zone out and forget who you are talking about. Youâll ignore it and answer his questions simply and go on with your story and heâs secretly really grateful that you didnât make a big deal of it.
2. Heâll lose balance and get dizzy often. He, again, doesnât show it and doesnât like to make a big deal of it, but you notice that if he gets up too fast, heâll grab onto whatever is closest to him to steady himself (sometimes you). If youâre in a big social setting, sometimes heâll step away and crouch against a wall, focusing on one point on the floor. You donât say anything, you just sit with him and rub his back until it passes.
3. Since he told you about everything and you put the pieces together that all this is happening because of repeated head trauma, heâll start to feel really anxious of getting hit in the head again. Even in situations where thereâs like a -1% chance of getting hit in the head, his heart will start pounding. Every time he lurches forward when he trips, his heart will drop.
4. Bright LED lights irritate him. Not only because they now give him migraines, but partially because they remind him of the Russian base. Every time they flicker above his head, he hears the ringing in his ears that he did when he was getting beat up by the soldiers. He doesnât even realize that heâs remembering his trauma. He just gets annoyed and snappy towards everyone.
1. He notices the little things first. Your breathing becoming more shallow, sometimes youâll hold your breath longer than heâd like. He doesnât say anything at first, he doesnât want to embarrass you in front of everyone. Still, he taps your pinkie with his pinkie, a small sign that heâs there physically, but he wonât overwhelm you with physical touch or coddling words if you donât want them
2. If you end up leaning into his touch, heâll wrap his pinkie around yours, but somehow, heâs holding on tighter than he would with his whole hand. Heâll start to breathe in a much more exaggerated way, allowing you to mimic him.
3. If you donât end up calming down quickly, heâll start getting anxious himself. Heâll start overthinkingâ he knows logically this has nothing to do with him. But he canât help but feel guilt about the fact that you feel so anxious with him there.
4. âSweetheart, do you need to go somewhere else?â Heâd say against your temple as he kisses you. When you nod, he excuses you both, making something up about how your mom made a curfew for you, despite your friends knowing she very much didnât. Heâd probably take you to his car or a bench on a nearby street.
5. He whispers comforting words into your hair while cradling you as you sob in his arms. âItâs okay, Iâm here. Iâm here. Iâm not going anywhere. We can sit here as long as you needâ
6. When you finally calm down, heâs just as exhausted as you are. He will continuously place kisses on the top of your head, to ground both of you. He doesnât like to admit it, but seeing someone he loves in distress really gets to him.
7. âYou wanna go back? We can go home too. You tell me what you wanna do.â When you inevitably request to go back home, he simply nods and walks you to the car. When you finally get home, he stands awkwardly in the middle of the living room, unsure if heâs overstayed his welcome. But when you ask him to stay, in that quiet voice, like talking takes too much energy, his heart stops for a moment. Heâs wanted. YOU want HIM. And he wants you. He wants you to be okay.
1. Heâll always open the car door for you. Sometimes he forgets to go around the other side of the car, but the moment your hand touches the door handle, heâs walking around the car to open it. You insist that youâre capable of opening doors yourself but Steve will push back.
âIâm a gentleman okay? let me have thisâ
Literally puppy dog eyes, how can you say no?
2. Youâve been designated passenger princess. Anytime anyone else tries to sit in the front seat he snaps his fingers at them and goes âah ah ah, what did we talk about?â usually this results in (most commonly dustin) them rolling their eyes but reluctantly opening the backseat door.
Robin however will sit in the backseat anyways because she loves to observe.
3. Steve will consistanly only drive with one hand fully on the wheel. Often, when youâre in the car, his right hand will rest on your thigh or find itself intertwined with your fingers on the center console. If youâre not in the car, his hand will rest on the stick shift, and heâll tap his fingers along to whatever song heâs playing on the radio at the time.
4. Always has to have some sort of noise while heâs driving. whether itâs the radio or your voice, he cannot sit in silence. One time you were quiet in the car, just because you were tired, literally nothing had happened, and Steve overthought it so much that he thought he was going to be sick by the time you both got back home. You spent 20 minutes convincing him that he did nothing wrong and he still thinks about it to this day.
5. Steve is a reckless driver when heâs by himself, however, the moment anyone else, especially you, gets into the car he is so careful. He also insists that everybody NEEDS to wear a seatbelt, even if heâs just driving them down the block.
6. He literally will not let anyone else drive his car. Heâs attached to it and if he does let someone else drive it, he has to be in the passenger seat. He also, if someone else is driving his car, is the biggest backseat driver in the world.
âThereâs a stop signâ THERES A STOP SIGNâ Robin, I swear to god if you keep braking like that youâre going to ruin my suspension and you will be paying to get it fixedâ

It was a foggy morning, one where you could step outside and feel the air, heavy on your shoulders. The leaves rustled in the soft breeze, leaves turning orange at the mere thought of autumn. Cassiopeia Jones was sprawled out on the couch of the living room, chest rising and falling with a steady rhythm.Â
Cassie lived with her mother in a small, one bedroom apartment right on the border of Hawkins. Her mother had insisted on her taking the bedroom, but Cassie told her that she wasn't letting that happen. Her mother would get ill often, but sheâd chalk it up to stress, or fatigue from work. Cassie never asked, and her mother never elaborated.
It was peaceful that morning, until the phone rang. Cassie sat up with a start, the shrill noise waking her from whatever mundane dream she was having. The ringing was not, however, enough to get her out of bed. Her momâs yelling was.Â
âCassie! Answer the damn phone!â She called, jerking Cassie out of the dozing state she was in.Â
âGoing,â she grunted, swinging her legs off the couch and standing up, squinting at the bright sunlight that shone through the blinds. âHello?â
âAnne, is that you?â Aunt Joyceâs voice spoke through the phone.Â
âHuh? No- no this is Cassie,â she said, glancing in the direction of her motherâs door. Her mom would hardly entertain the idea of getting out of bed just to talk to her sister. âMomâs asleep right now, did you need something?â
âUhâ No Jonathan heâs notâ sorry, give me a moment,â Joyce spoke away from the receiver for a moment. âSorry dear, is Will with you?âÂ
âWill? No, uhâ why?â Cassie asked, her brow furrowing. She twirled the line with her index finger and thumb, leaning against the wall.
âOh, umâ nothing just, I thought he might have stopped by your place before school, he loves the bagels you guys have so I thought he might have stopped by. Nevermind, have a good day at school sweetie.â And then the phone hung up with a click. Cassie stared at the receiver for a good long moment, then put the phone back on the hook.Â
Her thoughts were interrupted by the honking of a car horn outside the apartment. Cassie stepped out onto the porch, immediately shriveling back at the cold air. James, Cassie boyfriend, was in his red convertible, honking like it was an instrument. Cassie waved her hands in the air to tell him to stop, but James only stopped when Cassie reached the car.
âDo you know what hour it is right now? Youâre going to get a noise complaint.â Cassie said, the smile on her face betraying how annoyed she was that it was 6 am and she was awoken to not one but two loud noises.
âSorry Cassie, but youâre such a heavy sleeper, figured Iâd help your alarm clock out,â James gave Cassie a wink.
Cassie rolled her eyes but even her smile seemed forced. James furrowed his brows and leaned forward to cup Cassie's face.Â
âHey, you okay? Whatâs wrong babe?â asked James.]
âItâs Aunt Joyce,â said Cassie.Â
âWill wasnât home when she woke up.â James stayed quiet for a second. They both knew Will wasnât one to stay out all night. He was only 12 years old, itâs not like he had a secret lover to sneak off to.
âHe probably went to school early and didnât want to wake Joyce.â He said, finally. âMaybe he wanted to meet with that one teacher he likes, the science one. MrâŚ. whatâs-his-name. You know, mustache guy?â
âYeah⌠Yeah probably,â Cassie said, though she didnât look convinced.Â
âCâmon, go get ready, Iâll drive you to school,â Cassie nodded but didnât move. James sighed.Â
âLook, Iâm sure heâs okay. Just go get dressed and weâll ask Jonathan when we get to school okay?â Cassie nodded again and stepped away from the car. âAnd bring me a bagel too, please!â
â ââ
By the time Cassie and James pulled up to Hawkins High, the bell was ringing for the second time, students were filing into classrooms, and Cassie was so stressed about making it to her physics class that she had nearly forgotten about her missing little cousin. After all, a third late resulted in a one hour detention.Â
âOkay, see you in a bit,â Cassie said as she gave James a hasty kiss and gathered her backpack from the car. She half walked, half ran to classroom 204, and sat before the third and final bell rang. And although Cassie wanted to be in her class on time, when that third ring filled her ears, she wanted nothing more than to be dismissed already.Â
As the class went on, Cassie found herself tapping her pencilâs eraser against her notebook and staring out the window for the twentieth time that hour. She looked at the clock. 8:53. 7 more minutes. She tapped her pencil more and rested her head on her hand with a sigh.
After an eternity, the bell rang once more and Cassie quickly sprang out of her seat. She rounded the corner of the doorway and nearly smacked into Tommy Hagan.
âHey, watch it!â he sneered. Cassie blinked, mumbled a soft âsorryâ, then watched as he, Steve Harrington and Carol Perkins strolled over to Nancy Wheelerâs locker. The three juniors were all pretty popular and Cassie was⌠not. She wasnât unpopular, but she didn't have many friends. Or really any. She was friendly with Nancy and Barbara Holland, Nancyâs best friend, but she wouldnât consider them friends. Cassie couldnât imagine why Steve, Carol and Tommy were going to meet up with Nancy, but frankly, she didnât care.
And though their backs were turned to her, she could hear Steve saying something along the lines of âcalm down, she didnât mean it.â Tommy H looked back at Cassie and narrowed his eyes before Steve smacked the upside of his head.Â
Cassie continued to watch the three stroll down the hallway, and nearly jumped out of her skin when she felt Jamesâs soft hands on her elbow. She yelped and James gasped in return.
âShit, sorry, I didnât mean to scare youââ James started.
âYouâr fine,â Cassie said.â
âYou okay?â
âYeah, just⌠got distracted, why?â
âYou just seem⌠distant, thatâs all.â Cassie forced a smile.
âYou havenât seen Jonathan today, have you?â She tried to change the conversation. She knew it wasnât a complete 180 in topic, but she might as well find out as much as she could about the events this morning rather than stay in confusion.Â
âNo, actually, I havenât,â Jamesâs face fell, only slightly. âYou havenât seen him either.â He said it more as a statement than a question. Cassie didnât say anything. She didnât have to. James pulled her into a hug and rested his hand on her hair. âIâm sure Willâs okay. Heâs a competent kid, you know? He can handle himself.â
âNot if heâs been kidnapped, âCassie mumbled into his chest.
âJesus, what put that idea in your head?â asked James.
âJust a thought.â
âAnd a dark one at that. How about we call your aunt at lunch and see if thereâs any updates, okay?â Cassie took a deep breath and nodded.Â

They never thought domestic life was for them.Â
But then again, since theyâd gotten their four million kruge, since theyâd moved into the Van Eck estate with Wylan, everything had been flipped on its head.Â
The day Jan Van Eck went to jail was the day Wylan had asked Y/n to be his partner. And heâd asked them to move in with him.Â
âIsnât that a little⌠fast?â Y/n had asked.Â
âWould you prefer to stay in the Slat?â Wylan said, no malice in his voice. Heâd actually sounded quite kind about it.
âFair point, Iâll go pack,â said Y/n.Â
They settled in, had a routine and everything. Y/n would get up earlier than Wylan and go on a run. The Geldin district was much safer than the Barrel, and Y/n was grateful they were able to run without glancing over their shoulder every two seconds. Then when Y/n returned, theyâd wake Wylan and then bathe while Wylan got ready. Theyâd sit together while eating toast with jam, a delicacy that Y/n had come to like. After all, everything tasted better when you could actually afford it.Â
Wylan would work on small designs in the workshop, and Y/n would usually take to the library or theyâd bake something to keep their hands busy. Then they would come to dinner, which Wylan would put together. It was a simple life, but it was enough for the both of them.Â
One fateful morning, Y/n had gotten up and to their surprise, Wylan was already up.
âWhat are you doing? Isnât it a bit early to be up?â Y/n asked, blinking away sleep.
âThought Iâd surprise you.â Wylan shrugged. âCan I go on your run with you?âÂ
Y/n quirked an eyebrow. âDo you know how fast I run?âÂ
âFair enough,â said Wylan. âWilling to compromise and make it a brisk walk?â Y/n laughed.Â
âI suppose I can adapt for today.â Y/n and Wylan finished getting ready and Wylan made sure to lock the door. Y/n started briskly walking down the street, Wylan a step behind him. He caught up quickly.
âWhy must you always have a headstart?â Wylan whined.
âItâs in my nature,â said Y/n. âI canât help it.â Wylan hummed. They fell into a comfortable silence, the only sounds were the early morning birds and their breaths.
They walked silently for the most part, save for Wylanâs heavy breathing.
âYou really run this far every morning?â Wylan asked Y/n.
âI run further, but I figured Iâd go easy on you,â Y/n glanced at Wylan, a sneaky grin on his face.Â
âThis is easy?â Wylan squeaked. Y/n laughed.
âYes, my love, I run three more blocks than this.â
âSaints,â Wylan muttered under his breath.Â
They traced their steps back to the mansion and Wylan immediately flopped on the sofa.Â
âI canât believe you do that every morning,â Wylan said, still breathing heavily.Â
Y/n just smiled.Â
The next day, it rained. Actually, it had started raining in the early dawn, so Y/n woke with a sigh. Their routine had been interrupted and they wouldnât be able to run that morning. So, instead of getting upset like they would have when they were back in the Barrel, they took it as a blessing in disguise and snuggled closer to Wylan.Â
Now when Wylan woke, he woke with a start. Not because of a nightmare, no, those were left in the Barrel when his father had gone to prison. But because there was a weight on his arm that was never there. Not usually.Â
His hand instinctively went to touch Y/nâs forehead. If they were in bed and not out, surely they were sick. They hadnât skipped a morning run in⌠ever. But their head was actually quite cool, which left Wylan more confused. It didnât really click for him that the rain would stop Y/n.
Y/n stirred at the feeling of Wylanâs hand on his head.
âMorning,â they said, their voice groggy and rough. Wylan gave him a small smile.
âMorning sleepyhead. Overslept?â he brushed a strand of hair out of Y/nâs face.
âIt was raining.âÂ
âAh.â Y/n looked up at Wylan, only to be met with loving eyes already on them. âWhatâs on your list for today then?â
âI havenât gotten that far yet,â Y/n said. âThough, maybe I could join you in the workshop?â Wylan's mouth quirked.Â
âI have a better idea.â
***
They said leg to leg on the tiny piano bench. The piano was sorely out of tune, so it had taken a while for Wylan to get it back to where it actually sounded pleasant to the ears. Wylan flipped through the books of sheet music, furiously scanning pages for the right piece of music.Â
âWhat are you looking for?â Y/n asked when Wylan let out another sigh.
âClair de lune, but I canât reââ Wylan stopped himself before he got too frustrated. Y/n stepped next to him to help him find the right book. They didnât need him to finish the sentence. They understood.
âHere,â they said, dusting off a thin folder with sheet music on it, titled âClair de lune.â
âThank you,â Wylan said quietly. To be completely honest, he had been starting to feel ashamed that it was taking him so long to find the right folder, despite the fact he couldnât read the titles of each of the pieces.Â
âNow teach me how to read the notes,â Y/n said, quickly moving to a new topic.
âRight,â Wylan said. âSo this is middle c, itâs the c closest to the center of the piano. And that note below the staff on the page is middle c.â Y/n looked at him blankly. Wylan sighed. This might take longer than he thought.Â
âThe lines on the page, itâs called a staff. The circles are notes. That note is a c. The notes range from a to g. So this note is an a,â Wylan played a note on the piano. âAnd then b, c, d,â He played each note on the piano as he spoke, keeping his eyes trained on the keys. But Y/nâs eyes stayed looking at Wylan. Admiring.
Wylanâs voice faltered and a red heat traveled up the back of his neck when he felt their gaze on him.Â
âAnd this is an e flatâwhat?â
âNothing, Iâm listening.â Y/n smiled as Wylan looked up at them.
âWhat did I just say?â Y/n stayed quiet for a moment.
âOkay maybe I wasnât listening.â
âHow am I supposed to teach you if youââ
Y/n leaned in and placed a soft kiss on his lips. Wylan was quick to melt into the kiss, his hands falling to Y/nâs waist as their hands found Wylanâs jaw.Â
Y/n was the first to break away. âIâd rather just listen to you play.â
Wylan swallowed hard and nodded.
âOkay?â Y/n asked.
âOkay,â Wylan said, a blush creeping onto his face. His hands fell to the keys once more, and he started to play a lovely, calming melody. Y/nâs head fell to Wylanâs shoulder and Wylan faltered for a moment, and a short one at that. But he continued to play until the song was over.Â
They stayed like that for a while. Y/nâs head on his shoulder and Wylanâs hands resting on the last chord of the song. The steady pitter patter of the rain on the windowsill made for the most peaceful moment either of them had had in a long time.Â
âI love you,â Y/n said. Wylan inhaled sharply. It was the first time Y/n had uttered those words to him. Probably the first time theyâd said them⌠ever. Y/n suddenly lifted their head off Wylanâs shoulder, but Wylan rested his hand on Y/nâs before they could go far. âSorry, I donât know what came over me, I shouldââ
âI love you, Y/n,â Wylan said back.Â
Y/n blinked. âYou do?â
âYes,â Wylan giggled.Â
âReally?âÂ
âWhat do you think, Iâve been kissing you for the fun of the game? Iâm in love with you, idiot,â Wylan said.Â
âAnd Iâm in love with you.â Y/n said.Â
Wylan spoke softly, âI know.â
And that was all that needed to be said. For now. Maybe forever. But for now would do just as fine.

Orion left silently in the night when the Slat was asleep. Inej had offered to go after him but Kaz stopped her.
â
âGive him time.â Kaz said. âHeâll come back.â
â
Wylan wasnât so sure. Ten more days passed. Then another five. It had been nearly three weeks until Wylan saw Orion again. It wasnât even intentional.
â
Wylan was out at the market, wandering through the stalls and peeking into small shops that were in the area permanently. He wandered closer to the stalls that stood by the tannery, and picked up a vial that was full of sodium phosphate. At least, thatâs what he thought it was full of. The letters on the label swirled, and so he put the vial down and tried not to think about the headache that was starting to gnaw at his brain.
â
A few people brushed past Wylan, muttering something along the lines of âsorryâ and âpardon me.â When the last person passed with an âexcuse me,â Wylanâs head shot up. He gasped, making the person turn around.
â
âOrion?â Wylan said, staring at the boy. Orionâs face turned pale, and he cleared his throat.
â
âWylan.â He said, his voice cracking. âI didnâtâ uhâ I didnât realize you wereâŚâ He trailed off. Heâs okay. And heâs managing without me. Good, Orion thought. Wylan nodded.
â
âDidnât realize I was what?â Wylan said, a bit too defensive. Orion opened his mouth, then closed it.
â
âDoesnât matter. How are you?â Orion offered. Wylan shook his head.
â
âWeâre supposed to pretend everything is okay? More so, are we supposed to go back to being strangers?â Wylan said harshly. Orion frowned.
â
âIsnât that whatâs easiest?â He said, genuinely confused. âI hurt you, you shouldnât want to see me again. Youâre supposed toâŚâ
â
âSupposed to what, Orion? Tell me, what am I supposed to feel?â Wylan said. He was drawing attention to bystanders nearby, but he didnât care.
â
âWylan⌠thatâs not what Iââ
â
âHow are you to tell me how I feel when you donât even know what to say?â Wylan said, a lump forming in his throat. Orion stayed silent. His mouth formed a straight line. âHow are you to know whatâs best for me? You never once considered my feelings, youâve only considered how you thought I felt. But you know what, maybe youâre right. Maybe I do hate you. But not because you stabbed me, Orion, or called me names and insulted me. Maybe itâs because you keep leaving when I need you most.â Wylan said, his voice cracking at the end. Orionâs mouth stayed slightly agape. He blinked. âWhy do you keep leaving?â Wylan croaked.
â
âI⌠Isnât that how itâs supposed to be? I wrong you so you leave me? Youâre not supposed to stay. Youâre not supposed to forgive me.â
â
âI donât forgive you, Orion. ButâŚâ Wylan let out a small breath he didnât know he was holding. âI do still love you.â He said quietly. Orionâs face went pale. He staggered back a little bit, as if someone had just punched him in the gut.
â
âLetâs talk about this⌠not here.â Orion said, taking a step towards Wylan and taking his hand. Wylan felt like a jolt of electricity just coursed through his body. He forgot the tender touch of Orionâs hand. How gentle it once was, and how hesitant it was now.  Orion pulled Wylan to a small alleyway and let go of Wylanâs hand. He turned and looked down, then looked at Wylan.
â
âWhy?â
â
âWhy what?â
â
âWhy do you still love me? Thatâs notââ Wylan cut Orion off.
â
âNot how itâs supposed to work. I know. Iâm not black and white, Orion. To be completely honest, I donât know why Iâm still in love with you, but I am. But Iâm not leaving because you did something that hurt me. People like you who areââ
â
âBroken?â Orion interjected.
â
âHurting,â Wylan glared at Orion, but there wasnât real anger behind it. âYou all think that you do one wrong thing and itâs another red mark in your ledger. Another⌠thing you have to have to hide from. But thatâs not how it works in a relationship.â
â
âWeâre not evenââ Orion tried to speak.
â
âI wasnât done.â Wylan said, holding up his hand. Orion shut his mouth. âIn a relationshipââ Orion pursed his lips. Wylan continued. âPlatonic or not, people do fight. People do get hurt. Itâs inevitable. But what they shouldnât do is run away. You have to work through it. Thatâs how relationships work. Itâs going to be messy, and complicated. Itâs going to take time, but I want toââ Wylan choked on his words. He debated finishing the sentence. âI want to be with you. Okay?â He said so softly, he wasnât sure if Orion had even heard him. But Orion was practically leaning forward because he was listening so intently. He swallowed hard.
â
âI want to be with you too, WylanâŚâ
â
âSo why would you leave?â
â
âBecause⌠Iâm scared. This whole situation is so fucked. I nearly killed youââ
â
âBut you didnâtââ
â
âIf I had miscalculated you would have died! I couldâve hit your spleen or a major artery orââ
â
âBut you didnât, Orionââ
â
âIâm afraid of what could happen if I let my feelings get in the way. What if I go soft, miscalculate. What if, if I fall in love with you, I canât think straight. Iâm scared Wylanââ
â
âOrionâŚâ Wylan took a step forward.
â
âIâm scared of who I could become if I love youââ
â
âOrionâŚâ Wylan started to close the distance between the two.
â
âAnd what if Iââ Wylan cupped Orionâs face with his hands. Orion stopped talking for a second, and thatâs when Wylan kissed him.
â
Orion closed his eyes, practically melted into the kiss. He tasted salty tears as they fell, though whose they were, he didnât know. His hand raised to Wylanâs neck, as Wylanâs fell to Orionâs hips. Wylan was the first to pull away, and Orion tried to chase his lips with his own.
â
âWas that so bad?â Wylan asked, laughing a little. Orion looked at Wylan, eyes wide and lips swollen.
â
âThis is dangerous.â Orion said, though it sounded like he was trying to convince himself of that.
â
âThis is love. Itâs messy, but itâs still there. It doesnât just⌠go away.â Wylan said, searching Orionâs eyes. âI donât forgive youââ Orion looked away, but Wylan took his chin and softly turned his head back to look at him. âBut Iâd like to try again. See what happens.â
â
âIâd like that.â Orion said after a while.
âBut only⌠if you promise to try.â Orion tilted his head in confusion. âTry to learn how to love. I can even teach you. But you canât run away again. Okay?â Orion nodded.
â
âI can do that.â He said. And so Wylan wrapped his arms around Orion and buried his face in the crook of Orion's neck.
â
âWe can do this.â He said. And for the first time in a long time, Orion felt hopeful.

It had been a long enough period of time to where Kaz had started wondering where his brother had gone. The crows were still on edge, but most of them had forgiven Orion for what he had done. Even Jesper was starting to warm up to the idea that Orion was in fact, not a traitor. But Wylan⌠wasnât sure.
â
He trusted Orion, or at least had trusted him at some point. But his words, his actions, nothing could ever erase how Wylan had felt. He could still see the look in Orionâs eyes when he went to sleep. Could still feel the sting of the knife entering his stomach when he leaned over. Everything reminded him of Orion. Hell, even the toast he ate for breakfast reminded him of Orion.
â
He liked it plain. Jam was too sweet, butter was too salty, both were too expensive, Orion usually said, scrunching his nose at the strawberry jelly atop Wylanâs slice of bread. Wylan huffed humorlessly as he stared at his bread that morning.
â
âYou gonna eat that orâŚâ Jesper said from behind Wylan. The Durast had surprised Wylan, but he made no effort in showing it.
â
âHow long has he been gone again?â Wylan said quietly. Jesper was silent for a moment.
â
âTen days. Do you miss him?â Jesper asked cautiously.
â
âNo. I donât think I do.â
â
âThen why do you keep asking?â
â
âBecause Iâm angry at him.â Jesper stayed silent.
â
âWhat if he comes back, what will you do?â Jesper asked. Wylan opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but no words came out.
â
âI donât think heâs coming back.â Inej said, making both the boys gasp. She had that effect on people.
â
âWhat makes you say that?â Jesper said, eyeing Wylan to see his reaction.
â
âHeâs found a place in West Stave. He seems to be doing fine. Running odd jobs for Haskell, but heâs⌠surviving.â Inej said, glancing towards Wylan.
â
âHow⌠has he said anything?â Inej shook her head.
â
âHe hasnât said anything directly to anyone.â Inej said. Wylan took a shuddering breath. âIâve just been watching to make sure heâs okay, like Kaz told me to. But Wylan,â he looked up. âHe cries at night. I think for you.â
â
Wylan looked down quickly. Orion never cried. Wylan wasnât sure Orion could even cry. But Inej didnât lie, so suddenly Wylan didnât feel hungry anymore.
â
___
â
Wylan picked up the book heâd been trying to read. It was a childrenâs book, but Orion was helping him get through it. Theyâd only made it to page five before everything had happened. He read the first five pages like normal, but when he made it to page six, he felt like he could throw up. It felt so overwhelming, the words, the feelings.
â
Saints, why did he have to be in love with Orion? Why did he have to miss him so much? He tried to focus on the words. The big⌠fuck, what was the next word. It was long, that was for sure. He tried to trace the letters on the page like he did when Orion would read to him. It didnât help. He groaned in frustration but kept trying. Cat⌠that was the first part of the word. It felt daunting, too scary to do on his own. He didnât want to do it on his own. He didnât want to do anything on his own. Despite all the hatred he felt, he missed Orion. His partner in crime.
â
He felt tears well up in his eyes. He squeezed his eyes shut, and let out a strangled cry as he threw the book on the ground. He pressed the palms of his hands against his eyes and just sobbed.
â
âThatâs a library book. You shouldnât throw it.â Wylan didnât even process the personâs voice before he looked up. Even through his blurry vision, he still froze. What was he doing here?
â
âOrionâŚâ He said quietly. Orion was leaning against the doorframe stiffly. His hands were curled into fists and his lips were taut in a straight line.
âWylan.â He nodded at the boy. Wylan did his best to wipe the tears from his eyes, but they just kept falling.
â
âWhat⌠I thought you were gone for good.â
â
âI thought so too.â
â
âWhat made you, you knowâŚâ He said, sniffing.
â
âCome back? Kaz decided to pay me a visit.â
â
âAnd?â
â
âAnd he called me a coward. Among other things.â Wylan laughed, which made the corners of Orionâs mouth twitch. âBut he also told me how youâve been doing.â He pushed himself off the doorframe.
â
âYouâve not been eating, staying in your room half the time. He told me you havenât been in your lab since I⌠since it happened.â
â
âSince what happened?â Wylan tilted his head up. Orion went silent. âSay it. Say what you did to me.â
â
âSince I stabbed you.â Orion choked on one of the words. Wylan took a deep breath and shook his head.
â
âI donât forgive you.â
â
âI know.â
â
âI donât know if I can forgive you.â
â
âI know.â
â
âYou stabbed me, Orion.â
â
âIâŚâ Orion trailed off. âIâm sorry.â He whispered. He looked at Wylan, and then looked down. âI knew this was a bad idea. I should go.â
â
âOrion, you donât have the right to be selfish and run away again.â Wylan said before Orion could take another step out the door. He turned around and Wylan was standing. Worse, he was walking towards Orion. His heart was beating like crazy, slamming against his sternum.
â
âYou donât get to be a coward. You donât get to make the selfish choice again.â Wylan continued towards Orion. Orion shrank back into himself, but kept looking at Wylan.
âYou canât just stab me and run and expect me to be okay. You didnât even check on me. You just leftââ
â
âI didnât check on you because it made it hurt lessââ Orion tried, but Wylan kept going.
â
âYou should be hurting. After what you did to meâŚâ Wylan choked on a sob. Orion suddenly realized how close Wylan was now.
â
âI donât know how to forgive you. But I deserve an explanation.â
â
âI didnât want them to kill you.â Orion said, tears welling in his own eyes.
â
âSo you hurt me instead.â
â
âYou deserved to live and hate me, rather than be dead and still love me.â
â
âYou donât get to make that choice for me.â
â
âI know.â Orion said simply, which made Wylan more mad. But he knew Orion was right. âI did what I thought youâd do.â Thatâs what got Wylan. They both wept silently.
â
âWhy are you here?â Wylan asked, finally.
â
âI wanted to make sure you were okay.â
â
âIâm not.â
â
âI can see that.â Wylan pursed his lips.
â
âAre you going to stay?â Orion took a breath.
â
âProbably not.â
â
âCoward.â That made Orion smile a bit.
â
âYeah.â That made Wylan smile next.
â
âWhile youâre here, can you at least make yourself useful?â Wylan asked. Orion furrowed his brow.
â
âHow?â
â
âHelp me finish this stupid book.â Wylan said, nodding to the library book on the floor.
â
âAnything.â Orion said. He stepped towards Wylan, but Wylan was already stepping back to grab the book. He said on the bed, and Orion stood stiffly in the middle of the room. Wylan rolled his eyes.
â
âYou can sit, you know.â
â
âI didnât know ifââ
â
âI promise I wonât bite.â So Orion sat next to Wylan and began to read. He kept his eyes strictly trained on the pages, but Wylan couldnât tear his eyes from Orion. He noticed the sweat on his forehead, the shakiness of his hands, the quivering of his voice.
â
When Orion finished the book, he shut it, but didnât dare look back up at Wylan.
â
âDo you want me to leave now?â He asked.
â
âI donât know.â Itâs better than a yes, I guess, Orion thought.
â
âOkay.â He said. And so he didnât quite leave, but he didnât quite stay. He moved to the kitchen of the Slat and stayed there for hours. But as Wylan worked around him and snuck glances at him, something had shifted. Wylan didnât hate Orion anymore. He didnât know how he felt, but he wasnât angry. But mostly, he was grateful that Orion had stayed.

Description: Orion Volkov is Kazâs younger brother, and Wylanâs partner in crime. When a job goes wrong and the Dime Lions attack the Crows, how will Orion worm his way out of this one, especially when his feelings for Wylan get in the way
Warnings: Kn1ves, Blo0d, so much angst, will make you cry...maybe
Words: 2.5k
Prompt: I just made this up there was no prompt
A/N: this is kinda a one off of the story I have with my OC/self insert. I m going to post more about this OC and their origin story later so just bear with me.
The heist had gone well. Jesper and Wylan were assigned to rig the safe, and get out. Nina and Maverick were to stay on the lookout, and take care of potential problems, silently. Inej and Orion were to take out the guards at the gate, and any other ones that might get in the way. Orion thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye, but when he turned to look, all he saw was a bird. A crow. Funny, Orion thought. Heâd been on edge because of something Kaz had requested a few days ago.
â
âMingle with the Dime Lions. They donât know youâre a part of the Dregs, so keep it that way. Get to know their tells, their slip ups. Report back, and most importantly, donât get caught.â Kaz had told him. Every time Orion questioned whether or not this was worth this trouble, he just thought, Iâm doing this for Jordie. Thatâs what kept him going. Because at the end of the day, all the Rietveld siblings wanted was for the man who got their brother killed to be taken down. Locked in a prison to rot, or even betterâ six feet under.
â
Once the safe door was separated from its hinges, Kaz entered the vault and quickly took the ledger. From Orion and Inejâs spot on the roof, everything looked fine. Until it wasnât. A rather big looking âstadwatchâ was attempting to creep up behind Mav and Nina. Orionâs heart dropped when he saw the face of the stadwatch. He recognized him, and not only did he recognize him, but he saw the look in his eyes. Vladimir Abdulov. A Dime Lion, and the most dangerous of the gang.
â
Before thinking, he shouted. âMav, Nina!â He jumped from his perch and felt a jolt of pain in his shins. He ignored it. The two heartrenders turned suddenly and started to slow Abdulovâs heart. But he was faster, and landed a punch to Ninaâs stomach. By the time Nina hit the floor, a knife had flown past Maverickâs head and landed in the Dime Lionâs shoulder. He looked up and made direct eye contact with Orion.
â
Fuck. Orion thought. Heâd been caught. How would Pekka react? Would he be angry? Amused? Would he try to punish Orion somehow? Orion looked to Kaz. Kazâs face was indifferent, but he gave a slight nod.
â
Double fuck, Orion thought. He couldnât dig himself into a deeper hole.
â
âVladimir.â He said, strolling up to the man on the ground.
â
âTraitor,â The Dime Lion spat.
â
âPekka sent me,â Orion said plainly. Vladimirâs eyebrows shot up. Out of the corner of his eye, Orion saw Wylanâs jaw drop, and Jesperâs hands fell to the guns on his hips. Maverick narrowed his eyes, as did Inej.
â
âDid he now? Because you werenât there when he sent the rest of us.â So weâre surrounded.
â
âSpecial orders.â Orion lied.
â
âThen you wouldnât be bothered if you told Rollins what you just told me.â
â
âNo.â Vladimir smiled. He raised his hand and signaled the gangâs sign. About five more Dime Lions emerged from the shadows and surrounded the crows.
â
âGive the orders then,â Vladimir said. Orionâs heart thudded in his chest. He saw Kaz tilt his head out of his peripherals. Orion turned to look at the other Dime Lionsâ the hunger in their eyes was very fitting, Orion thought.
â
âGo on then!â He shouted. The five gang members sprang into action and lept towards the crows. He heard a gunshot, and a thud. Then Wylanâs yell. He ignored it. In fact, he didnât even turn towards the sound. He simply extended a hand to Vladimir to help him up. Vladimir stood and clapped Orion on the back. âI know who you are.â He said.
â
Orionâs blood ran cold. How would he prove to Pekka that he was loyal? Vladimir led Orion away from the fight, one arm wrapped around his shoulders. âYouâre gonna pay for this,â Vladimir grunted as he ripped the knife from his shoulder and shoved it into Orionâs hands.
â
âOri-â He heard Wylan call. His heart twisted and his breath caught when he realized Wylan got cut off, but still, he didnât look back.
â
â-
â
It was a long walk from the merchantâs house to the Dime Lionâs version of the Slat. It was a lot bigger, and a lot nicer than the Slat, but still, it felt colder. More empty. Orionâs feet ached as he walked through the door, but his heart ached more. He prayed to the Saints, to Ghezen, hell, even to Djel, that the rest of the crows had made it out and were okay. He honestly didnât care what happened to him, as long as his friends were safe.
â
When he opened the door to Pekkaâs office, Pekka didnât turn around. Orion cleared his throat.
â
âWant to tell me why you were working for Kaz Brekker, Volkov?â Pekka said, still turned around, though he had raised his head.
â
âYou told me to get to know him. Tell you what I learn and report back. Thought Iâd do you one more and get to know all of them.â Orion said, his heart thudding in his chest.
â
âAnd?â
â
âAnd I know that Kaz doesnât care about his crew. Except for Maverick, whoâs too focused on helping others to care about himself. Inej shifts her weight onto her left foot when she lunges. Jesper is aâŚâ He trailed off. He had to make this believable.
â
âA what? Spit it out boy,â Pekka turned around. He was intrigued. Orion couldnât mess this up.
âJesper is a durast. Thatâs why he never misses a shot. Nina has an agendaâ she wants to break her lover out of Hellgate. He hates her though, so sheâs upset. That makes her dangerous. And Van Eckâs son is also working for Kaz.â
â
âIs he now?â Pekka said. âTell me more about that.â Orion narrowed his eyes. Why did Pekka care more about Wylan than Kaz?
â
âHe goes under his motherâs name, Hendriks, but heâs Van Eckâs son. Heâs a demolitionist. And heâs stupid.â Orion added. His stomach just kept twisting the more he spoke.
â
âAnd why is that?â
â
âBecau⌠Because heâs fallen in love with me.â Pekka smiled.
â
âAnd do you love him back?â
â
âNo.â
â
âYouâre sure?â
â
âWhy would I lie to you, Rollins?â
â
âBecause the idiot followed you here.â Orionâs heart dropped, but his face didnât betray him. He still looked indifferent.
â
âDid you talk to him?â Orion asked.
â
âIs Orion Volkov asking? Or is Rion asking?â Pekka glared him down. Orionâs gaze faltered.
â
âLike I said, heâs fallen in love with me. It makes them all trust me more.â Orion said.
â
âThen you donât want to talk to him? See how heâs doing?â
â
âI frankly donât care.â Orion snorted. Pekka smiled.
â
âAngeloff,â He called to the door. A bigger member of the gang opened the door. Orion had to swallow the bile that rose up in his throat when he saw the curly haired boy who was shoved into the room before him. He did his best to look unimpressed.
â
âAre you hoping to get a rise out of me? I told you I donâtââ
â
âOrionâŚâ Wylan croaked.
â
âCare.â Orion finished and shot Wylan a look. Wylanâs teary eyes made Orion almost break down.
â
âOrion pleaseâŚâ Wylan whimpered. Orion rolled his eyes.
â
âShut up!â Orion snapped. âFor saints sake, you talk too much for your own good.â Wylan curled back into himself, and for a moment, Orion saw how scared he was. His eyes were brimming with tears, and he had a few bruises forming, most noticeably on his cheekbone.
â
âGo on, tell the littleâ what does Kaz call them? Crows? Tell the little crow what you really think about him. Convince him, but most importantly, convince me.â Pekka said, a smug smile plastered on his face.
â
âYou really think you made me fall in love with you? Saints, youâre insufferable.â Orion spat, specifically avoiding eye contact with Wylan. âYou and your little sob stories about how âDaddy tried to kill meâ. No one cares, Van Eck.â Wylan shrunk back at the name.
â
âNo one is going to love you, much less me. Youâre broken and you canât be fixed. Fuck, you canât even read the letters your father sends you. I didnât read them to you because I wanted you to trust that I liked you back. I wanted you to think that I actually cared. I donât.â Wylan took a shuddering breath.
â
âI couldnât care less if you dropped dead in front of meââ Pekka held up his hand.
â
âThatâs enough Volkov.â I stopped and finally met Wylanâs eyes. Hurt glimmered in his eyes, and his bottom lip was quivering. But he knew better than to speak again.
â
âYouâre good at lying, Volkov.â Pekka said.
â
âIâm notââ Orion tried.
â
âBut youâre not good enough.â Orionâs eyes widened. Pekka reached into a drawer and pulled out a knife. One of Orionâs knives. How did he even get that?
â
âProve that you could care less,â Pekka turned the knife around and held it out for Orion to take. Orionâs breath hitched. He wanted Pekka to believe that he was on the Dime Lionâs side, but he didnât want to kill Wylan over it. But if he didnât hurt Wylan, would Pekka kill him instead?
â
Orion looked Wylan in his eyes, as if to silently say, âtrust me.â And with Wylanâs hands held behind his back by Angeloff, Orion drove the knife into Wylanâs side. Wylanâs mouth opened in a silent scream, and his eyes squeezed shut. Orion twisted the knife, and was so close to Wylan that he could have whispered, âIâm sorry.â But he didnât.
â
He watched as Wylanâs face drained of color. Wylan looked at Orion, and was terrified at the stone cold face he was met with. Orion pulled the knife out of Wylanâs side. He looked at Pekka.
âLeave him outside, the collectors can take him to Reaperâs Barge tonight.â Pekka said, nodding. Angeloff basically dragged Wylan out of the room.
â
âYouâve convinced me, boy.â He said, but Orion barely heard him. âYour little excursion tonight scared me a bit, but youâve proven yourself. Take the day off tomorrow. Youâve earned it.â
â
Orion nodded, trying to ignore the pounding in his chest. The moment Pekka dismissed him, he quickly ran through the building and out the back door. He looked around, and for a moment, he felt like he was going to die. He couldnât breathe, he was sweating profusely. He debated dropping to the ground and sobbing. But Wylan needed him, and Orion needed to find him to help him.
â
He ran up and down alleyways and finally found the corner that Wylan was slumped over in. He darted to the boy, who was pale, but still breathing. Orion ripped the bottom part of his shirt off and crumpled it into a ball. He lifted Wylanâs shirt slightly and examined the wound. It was exactly where Orion had intended to stab him. It missed all his organs, thank the saints. He shouldnât have any internal bleeding either. Wylan groaned as Orion put pressure on the wound with the scrap of fabric.
â
âI know, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry my love,â Orion said through sobs. Â Â Â Â Â Â
â
âWhyâŚâ Wylan croaked out.
â
âI had to. Câmon, I need to get you to a medik.â Orion tried to pull Wylan up. He was heavier than he looked, but then again, Orion was stronger than he looked. He draped Wylanâs arm over his shoulders and lugged him back to the Slat.
â
It felt like it took years, but he finally reached the door to the worn building he called home. Would he be welcomed there anymore? Probably not, but Wylan needed medical attention, and Inej knew how to stitch a wound and Nina knew how to keep a heartbeat steady. After he knew Wylan was okay, he could leave. If the crows didnât want him anymore, that is.
â
âInej! Nina!â Orion called through the slat. He didnât know what hour of the night it was. He didnât care. Wylan needed help more than the others needed sleep. Four pairs of footsteps rushed down the stairs. Nina, Inej, Mav and Jesper rushed to the two boys. Maverick, Nina and Inej took Wylan from his arms and rushed him to the table in the sorry excuse for a kitchen.
â
Orion watched as the heartrenders and Inej worked, but he could feel Jesperâs gaze boring into him. Jesper took a step forward towards Orion. He didnât move.
â
âWhy the fuck would you double cross us?â Jesper said, his tone scarily serious.
â
âI was just doing what Kaz told me to,â Orion said, not tearing his eyes from Wylan.
â
âAnd what were Kazâs instructions? Get your boyfriend stabbed in the stomach?â Jesper spat.
â
âDonât get caught,â Orion repeated what Kaz had told him.
â
âWylan could die!â
â
âHe wonât.â
â
âAnd what makes you so sure?â Orion was quiet for a moment.
â
âBecause I never miss.â Jesper took a step back.
â
âWait wait. You stabbed him?â Orion nodded. Jesper laughed in disbelief.
â
âOrion did as he was told.â Kaz said suddenly behind the two boys. Both turned around. âYou canât be angry when he was doing what I told him to.â
â
âYou told him to stab Wylan?â Jesper said.
â
âI told him to get Pekka to trust him.â Kaz looked at Orion. âAnd you did.â
â
Jesper scoffed. He held his hands up in disbelief. âWell, if itâs a job then I suppose itâs okay. Kaz, do you know how insane you sound right now?â
â
âJesper, a word.â Kaz said, pulling Jesper aside and leaving Orion alone again. Inej had just about finished stitching Wylan up. She looked up and met Orionâs gaze. She nodded. Orion let out a breath he didnât know he was holding. He was going to be okay.

â
Wylan had been asleep for most of the night. And Orion stayed with him the whole time. He held Wylanâs hand through the whole night, and was slightly dozing off when Wylan stirred.
â
âWylan?â Orion croaked.
â
âRion.â Wylan said, before he opened his eyes. He turned his head so he could look at Orion, and then the memories came flooding back. âWhy?â
â
Orionâs heart broke. âI didnât know if they were going to kill youâŚâ
â
âSo you decided to try first?â His gaze hardened. Orion had never felt this small before.
â
âI did it so you wouldnât die. It needed to be believable.â
â
âYou still stabbed me.â
â
âI didnât want toââ
â
âAnd all the things you said? Were those real too?â
â
âNo.â Orion said. âI care about you more than you knowââ
â
âHow can I believe you?â Orion stayed silent for a moment.
â
âYou canât. I donât blame you if you never trust me again.â This time Wylan stayed quiet.
â
âMaybe you should go.â He said. Orion felt like his whole world was falling apart. He wanted to bed Wylan to forgive him, but Wylan deserved better. So he nodded and stood. Before he left the Slat, he turned.
â
âI love you more than you know,â he said. Wylan didnât respond. And so Orion walked out of the Slat, heartbroken and tired, and disappeared into the night.

Words: 644

A/N: so sorry ive been gone for 5ever i kinda dropped off the face of the earth but i am here! I also have not watched hawkeye so im so sorry if this feels inaccurate but i hope it provides you some comfort
Y/n didnât know how many days it had been since they started feeling like this. Could have been a month, could have been three. All they knew was that they felt so alone and just flat out numb. They didnât bother to pick up the phone, to make themselves proper meals. They slept all day and stayed up all night. It felt impossible to get out of bed some days. Actually, most days they couldnât get out of bed.Â
So when the doorbell rang that one day in September, Y/n didnât bat an eye. Probably just some salesman, theyâd go away eventually, they thought. But after about five minutes of consistent knocking and doorbell ringing, y/n decided to muster up the strength to open the door. It took another minute or two for them to get out of bed, but when they looked through the peephole and saw their sister, their face immediately crumpled.Â
Kate had called y/n nearly everyday since they had moved out, and when y/n stopped answering the phone, Kate took it upon herself to pay her sibling a visit. Y/n couldnât stop the shame from washing over them, they should have picked up the damn phone. Now, seeing Kate at their door, anxiously biting her lip and knocking over and over again, y/n couldnât help but feel guilty for worrying their family.Â
Y/n unlatched the deadbolt and lock, and opened the door ajar, as to not show the mess of the apartment.Â
âOh my god thank god, I thought I was going to have to call the police!â Kate said, shoving the apartment door open and wrapping her arms around y/n. She placed her hands on their cheeks. âYouâre alive.â
Y/n didnât say anything, but tears pricked their eyes. Kate looked at y/n, then around the apartment, then back to y/n.Â
âItâs bad again isnât it?â She said softly. Y/n nodded, afraid that if they spoke theyâd never stop crying. âHey, itâs okay, itâs okay. Youâre okay,â She smiled at y/n. It was a soft smile. Comforting. She brought y/n back into a hug and cradled them in her arms. âYouâre gonna be okay.â
_____
Kate set up camp in Y/nâs living room, despite their objections. She set up a little bed on y/nâs couch and brought back groceries and cleaning supplies.Â
âDo what you can, I wonât push more than what you are capable of doing,â She said. Y/n started to clean as much as they could, but they wore out fast, so Kate finished the job. It wasnât long before Kate was in the kitchen, cooking their grandmaâs favorite spaghetti and meatball recipe. Y/n gave Kate a small smile. But the guilt still weighed down on them like a boulder.Â
âYou know you donât have to do this for me,â Y/n said while they sat to eat. Kate shrugged.
âMom wasnât going to do it. And I was worried about you. I worry about you all the time. Ever since we were kids, I always wanted to protect you from stuff like this, but I know I canât take your pain away. So I just try to do what I can to lessen the burden.â Kate explained with her mouth full towards the end.Â
âI just-â Y/n tried to say, but Kate quickly interrupted them.
âDonât feel bad. I do it because I love you. Not because I feel bad for you or anything. Youâve always been there for me, so.â Kate explained. âAnd I promise Iâm going to keep being here for you because you deserve to have someone in your corner.â Y/n smiled.Â
âYou mean that?â They asked. Kate nodded while slurping up a noodle.
hi !! could you possibly do a oneshot or something where Mike comes home from work early one morning and he sees that the reader (could be GN or male if you happen to write male stuff) is still asleep on the couch, (they take Maxâs place in being Abbyâs babysitter but they DONâT work for the aunt) and heâs so tired that he ends up grabbing a blanket and cuddling up next to them? and then when they wake up theyâre like âmike?? are you okay??â and heâs just a flustered mess? thank you so much! <3
Pairings: Mike Schmidt x male!reader
Description: after a long night at work, mike just needs some comfort from abbyâs babysitter, aka, his boyfriend
Warnings: little tiny sexual innuendo at the end if you squint, falling asleep together, fight scene kinda? mostly fluff tho
Words: Â 704
Prompt: cuddling
A/N: I LAURVED WRITING THIS MIKE IS MY LOVEEEEEEEEE send me more requests for him cus tbh, this was fun af
Mike had just had one of the worst nightmares in his life. So bad, in fact, that he left work early. It was the same nightmare he had been having for years, but instead of finding his little brother, Garett, gone a minute too late, he came face to face with the kidnapper. Only the kidnapper had a mask on- a yellow bunny mask with a purple bowtie at the bottom.
Having been caught off guard, Mike ended up on the ground, beaten and bruised, as he watched his younger brother be coaxed into the station-wagon, and driven away, never to be seen again.
As if the dream wasnât enough, he had woken up feeling incredibly sore. Bruises littered his arms and torso, but nothing too serious. Mike was too tired to stop and question why he even had bruises in the first place. It was only a dream after all... right?
It was only 4:58 when Mike got to his house- a mere hour before he should have even left work in the first place. He fumbled with his keys, trying to find the right one to open the house. When had he acquired so many keys?
All the lights were off, except for the light above the stove, which provided just enough light for Mike to find his way to the sofa. He sat, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness, when he heard a soft snore. He looked to his right to find y/n curled up under a fleece blanket. He smiled softly. How did he get such a handsome boyfriend? And one that happened to babysit as well?
Mike scooted closer to y/n, pulling him close to his body and laying down against the pillow behind him, so that he was holding y/n. After a while he let sleep overtake him.
When y/n woke up, he was definitely surprised to see Mike home early, much less on the couch with him rather than in his own bed. Y/n crawled over Mike quietly, tiptoeing to the kitchen and turning the stove light off, as the natural light began to fill the kitchen.
He pulled out the egg carton from the fridge, as well as a pack of bacon. If Mike was home early, y/n might as well surprise him with breakfast.
âIs that eggs and bacon I smell?â Abby loudly ran into the kitchen.
âShhh, we donât wanna wake your brother, do we?â
âOh right,â She whispered. âIs that eggs and bacon I smell?â She said much quieter that time.
âYeah, thought Iâd surprise Mike,â Y/n said, laughing a little to himself.
âAnd why is that?â Y/n jumped a little when he heard Mikeâs voice. He turned to see Mike still in his security outfit with messy hair and a crooked smile on his face.
âWell you certainly surprised me when I woke up,â Y/n said. Mike blushed.
âThat wasnât- I didnât-â
âItâs okay Mike. I liked waking up like that.â Y/n said with a soft smile.
âWaking up like what?â Abby asked, looking between the two boys.
âIn your brotherâs arms,â Y/n said, making Mike blush again. Abby simply stuck her tongue out and faked throwing up.
âWhen I grow up, Iâm never gonna be in love. Itâs gross,â Abby said.
âYou might change your mind hun,â Y/n said.
âNo,â Abby stated, matter of factly, pulling a piece of paper out of who know where and began coloring with the crayons that were already spread out on the table from last nights drawing session.
Mike wandered closer to y/n, wrapping his arms around y/n and hugging him from behind. When y/n placed his hands over Mikeâs, Mike hissed.
âMike-â Y/n looked at Mikeâs knuckles that were raw from the âdreamâ fight. âAre you okay love? What happened?â
âItâs nothing, donât worry about it,â Mike murmured. Y/n got the hint that he didnât want to talk about it but he kept it in his mind that he should ask again later.
âI liked waking up like that,â Y/n said.
âYeah?â Mike asked, placing a kiss on y/nâs jaw.
âYeah.â
âWell I liked falling asleep like that. Letâs do it in my bed next though. WAIT- I DIDNâT MEAN IT LIKE THAT!â
hey! i just came over from tiktok, could you possibly do a gally x reader where he tries to act tough around all of the guys but (y/n) starts teasing about how sweet he actually is and he has to try and defend himself but gets all flustered over it, but canât get mad at (y/n) cause heâs got that fat crush on her? (fem pronouns possibly please?)
Pairing: Gally x fem!reader
Description: Gally has a hard exterior, but secretly melts when y/n is around.
Warnings: smooching, glade slang, idk just a lot of fluff, gally being a bit of a jerk
Words: 651
Prompt: Grumpy x Sunshine Trope
A/N: It lowkey ends kinda abruptly but OH WELL HERE YA GO
âGally, would you please stop yelling at the rest of the builders and actually start building?â Newt called from the gardens.
âNo can do, I gotta make sure everyone stays in line, thatâs why you put me in charge of the builders, remember?â Gally called back, yelping soon after when one of the newer gladers dropped a piece of wood on his head. âYou shank! Look what youâve done! Dropping klunk all over the place, you should be sent to the slammer!â
âGally, is that really any way to talk to the new guy?â Y/n jogged up to Gally from the med-jack hut where she was just supervising Clint and Jeff. Y/n was somewhat of a floater when it came to jobs. When they were testing what jobs she was good at, she was nearly good at every single one. Well, except for the slicers. Poor Winston nearly scared the girl half to death when he first came out with a machete.
âI uh- Well he dripped- I mean dropped that shucking piece of wood on me an-â Gally stammered.
âGally, câmon give the guy a break, heâs only been here a week,â Y/n said with a soft smile.
âLook, Iâm just trying to do my job, gotta make sure everything gets done, right?â Gally said, seeming to regain his composure.
âAnd it will get done, you can just be a little nicer about it through,â Y/n said, placing a hand on Gallyâs arm and running her fingers down his bicep.
Gally blushed. Y/n was playing him like a fiddle and she knew damn well what she was doing.
âIâll see you at supper?â Y/n said.
âYou know youâre the only one that calls it that, right? Itâs dinner,â Gally snorted.
âOh shut it, you know you love me,â Y/n said before turning over her shoulder and walking away, not before giving Gally one last smile. Gally stood there for a moment, not sure what to do with himself.
âOi, Gally, what were you saying about making sure things get done?â Newt called, snickering to Alby.
âOh slim it,â Gally growled. âNo- you canât hammer that in, thereâs not a screw to hold it together!â He turned his attention to the Greenie.
___
âHey big guy, not interested in tackling anyone to the ground tonight?â Y/nâs voice came from above Gally.
âNo, not tonight, gonna try to go to sleep early,â Gally said, getting up and trying his best to avoid y/n. But before he could leave, y/n grabbed his wrist.
âWait- did today really bother you?â She asked, furrowing her brow.
âI donât know what youâre talking about,â Gally broke away from her grip and tried to escape again, but she was too quick for him. She grabbed his arm again.
âYou know what Iâm talking about. I didnât think it would bother you, I thought you would actually like it, yâknow considering I was flirting with you.â Gallyâs eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
âOh my god,â Y/n laughed. âWasnât it obvious?â
âKinda hard to pay attention to that when things need to get done,â Gally cleared his throat, trying his hardest to hide the smile that was forming on his face.
âOh donât act like you werenât blushing the whole time you- oh my god youâre even blushing right now!â She laughed.
âShh, no Iâm not,â Gally smiled back at her, the blush returning to his cheeks.
âYou are! Gallyâs blushing! Gallyâs blu-â Y/n called when she was cut off.
Gallyâs lips crashed into hers as his hand moved to her cheeks. Y/n closed her eyes and sunk into the kiss, bringing her arms around his neck. When Gally pulled away first, y/n smiled.
âWhat was that for?â She breathed.
âTo shut you up,â Gally smiled. He looked to her lips and back to her eyes. âAnd also because Iâve wanted to do that for a while.â
hey i have a request and its fine if you dont do it cause its a little different to your others! y/n is in a movie with scar, lizzie and flo, y/n shâs but the others dont know that but one day they see the cuts on y/nâs wrist. i lovee your other oneshots btw
Pairings: Scarlett Johansson x gn!reader, Lizzie Olsen x gn!reader, Florence Pugh x gn!reader
Description: After a long day on set, y/n doesnât notice their scars are visible.
Warnings: TW DO NOT READ THIS IF IT WILL MAKE YOU RELAPSE!!! self harm, mention of scars, angst, lots of comfort.
Words: 900
Prompt: Person A has scars and person B finds out about them
A/N: First of all, thank you for the love, I truly appreciate it! You all mean so much to me! I hope you enjoy, and like Iâve said before, my DMs are always open <3
It was weeks, nearly days since y/n had last self harmed. In all honesty, they were doing better than they had in a while. Since being cast in the up and coming Marvel television series, a spinoff of the Avengers, they had felt better. Happier.
They were with some of their best friends. Scarlett was like a mother to y/n, Lizzie and Florence were like sisters. They had become a family, the four of them. And since they were so close and spent so much time together, y/n barely even thought about self harming.
Of course the urge would come back once and awhile. But that wasnât the problem. It was the scars. Y/nâs scars werenât the freshest, but they were definitely still there. Their makeup artist who had been with them since the beginning knew how to cover them up, so no one else on set really knew about y/nâs scars. And it wasnât like y/nâs costume was extremely revealing anyways.
Y/n sat in their trailer, finishing up their hair and zipping up the last bits of their costume.
âYou almost ready babes?â Scarlett knocked on the door of the trailer.
âYeah! Iâll be out in moment!â Y/n called.
âGood! We got you coffee,â Y/n could practically hear Florence wink.
âThank you!â
When y/n had finished getting ready, they opened the door to their trailer and was greeted with three smiling faces and four cups of coffee. And a croissant, of course, Florenceâs favourite.
âDirector wants us in the studio by 8, if we run we can make it.â Lizzie said.
âJesus Christ, why did no one tell me? Its 7:57!â Y/nâs face went pale.
âRun!â Florence yelled, taking off into a sprint, completely forgetting to give y/n their coffee.
Y/n looked down at their phone. 10:37 pm. They had been on set for nearly 15 hours, and all y/n wanted was to go back to their hotel room and sleep. Y/n barely noticed the lack of makeup on their forearm when they and the girls were walking back to their trailers.
âI didnât know they added scars to your character. When did they do that?â Lizzie asked out of the blue, nodding towards y/nâs arm.
Y/n cocked their head for a moment, confused as to what Lizzie was talking about.
âWait yeah, those are badass!â Scarlett added on.
The four reached the trailer section of the set. And it hit y/n. They were talking about their self harm scars.
âI-â Y/n started, too shocked to be able to form a sentence. Florenceâs face was the first to drop. She smacked her hand over her mouth and whispered a muffled, âLizzie.â
Lizzie realized within a split second, as did Scarlett. Scarlett was the first to speak.
âOh baby, câmere.â She said, holding her arms out for a hug. Y/n stood for a moment, then collapsed into Scarlettâs arms. Florence and Lizzie enveloped y/n in a big hug and the four were silent for a minute.
âIâm so sorry, y/n. If I had known I never would have said anythingâ Lizzie said when they broke apart.
Y/n stayed silent.
âDo you want to talk about it?â Florence said, taking y/nâs hand in hers.
Y/n was still silent. Then they took a deep breath.
âI donât know. I just, I struggle sometimes. Iâve never been like, officially diagnosed or anything, but,â Y/n looked at their faces. Each one of them was focused entirely on them. âI just feel like thereâs no way out sometimes. So I...â Y/n trailed off, gesturing to their arm as a conclusion to their sentence.
âOh hun, Iâm so sorry you have to go through that. Thatâs awful.â Lizzie said.
âItâs okay.â Y/n said, tears threatening to fall from their eyes.
âNo, itâs not. You shouldnât have to go through that. I wouldnât wish that on anyone, let alone a beautiful soul like yours,â Scarlett said. She took y/nâs hand and gave it a squeeze. âWeâre here for you love, no matter what.â
Florence had stayed silent the whole time. It was confusing to y/n, Florence usually was the most supportive out of the three girls.
âHey guys, can I just talk to y/n alone real quick. Weâll meet up with you after.â Florence asked.
âYeah of course, weâll see you back at the hotel?â Scarlett said.
Florence nodded, watching the two girls leave and then turning her attention to y/n.
âI understand how you feel.â Florence said.
âThank you,â y/n said, not really realizing what Florence was really saying.
âNo I mean, I really understand.â Florence stayed silent and looked at y/n. Y/n searched Florenceâs eyes. And it clicked.
âOh my god, Iâm so sorry.â Y/n said.
âWhy? Itâs been ages and Iâm not ashamed. Theyâre my battle scars. I know it sounds cliche, but I went through a lot a couple years ago, and I like to think of them as a sign that it gets better. How long has it been?â Florence explained.
âTwo weeks,â Y/n said.
âTwo weeks is amazing y/n!â Florence watched as y/n smiled sheepishly. âLook, Iâm not going to tell you to come to me whenever you feel like doing this, or tell you to bring me what you use or whatever youâve heard before. Just take it one day at a time. Okay?â

Description: Things get hot when reader and Steve work through some past trauma together.
Warnings: mention of scars, mention of panic attacks, cursing, smut, 18+ pls and thank you, oral, praise kink on both ends kinda, sub-ish!steve, dom-ish!reader, pet names (hun, love, baby), aftercare
Words: 1.4k
Prompt: âCan I touch you?â
A/N: YAS STEVE MY LOVE!!! @ilyyharrington this oneâs for you bae mwah
âCâmon, I wanna show you something,â Steve murmured into y/nâs ear as she was dozing off in his arms on the couch. Eddie and Nancy were sleeping on the floor and Robin was curled up in an Mr. Wheelerâs armchair. All the kids were asleep in the basement, and Steve would get up periodically to check on them, waking y/n up in the process.
After the events of Vecna were over, no one really wanted to sleep alone. Sure, they werenât really alone, but being with the group that protected each other just made everyone feel safer.
âWhat is it? Just show me now,â Y/n muttered, using an immense amount of effort just to keep her eyes open.
âNo, letâs go upstairs,â Steve said. He took y/nâs hand and pulled her up off the couch. Feeling more awake, y/n followed Steve up the stairs and into a guest bedroom.
âWhat is it, Steve?â Y/n asked again. He led her to the bed, still not answering her. She sat, looking up at him with half closed eyes.
âI, um, god this was stupid.â He said, pacing back and forth in front of her.
âNo, hun, what is it? I promise itâs not stupid,â y/n said, cocking her head slightly. She didnât know why Steve was acting so weird and cryptic. She watched as he bit his lip so hard he nearly drew blood. âSteve stop!â Y/n was definitely more awake now. She took his face in her hands and made him look her in the eyes. âWhat is it love? Youâre scaring me.â
âItâs nothing, I shouldnât have woken you. Iâm just gonna go-â Y/n grabbed Steveâs hand, accidentally grazing his torso in the process. He flinched so hard he nearly jumped out of his skin. Y/n never would have touched his stomach on purpose. She knew it was a sensitive spot for him; since the demobats left their mark, he didnât let y/n touch him there, especially when he wasnât prepared for it.
At first, y/n didnât know. Hell, even Steve didnât realize it at first. That was until it happened. This was when his scars were still fresh. Y/n was on top of Steve, kissing every bit of skin that was accessible to her when she reached down and fiddled with the hem of his shirt. Her fingers had barely touched the scars, but it threw Steve into a full fledged panic attack. From then on, she knew his scars were off limits.
âSteve?â Y/n said after a moment. He was turned away from her, so she had no idea what he was feeling. âStevie?â Y/n repeated. She noticed the lack of movement in his chest, and the silence surrounding him.
Shit. Was he having another panic attack?
âIâm okay.â It sounded like he was trying to convince himself more than y/n. âIâm okay.â He turned back to her. Tears threatened to fall from his pretty brown eyes.
âOh hun,â Y/n said, resisting every part of her that wanted to hug him.
âI just, I thought that this time, if I prepared myself it would be okay. I mean like, I want you to be able to touch me and it feel good. Like it used to be.â His words made y/nâs heart break. She wouldnât admit it, but she missed that too. To be intimate with him again. To be able to hug him. To be able to go for piggyback rides. To swim with him without him feeling scared of taking his shirt off. She missed how it was. But it didnât make her love him any less.
âWhat if we tried again?â Y/n asked, looking up at him. He scrunched his brows. âCan I touch you?â She watched as he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and nodded.
Also having to prepare herself, she breathed in through her nose, and out through her mouth. Then she slowly and delicately ran her fingertips over his stomach. His shirt was still a barrier to the scars, but she still felt him tense up. When she had reached his back, she pulled him in for a hug.
It took him a moment, but he soon wrapped his arms around her too. He rested his chin on the top of y/nâs head, and sank into the hug.
âNot so bad?â Y/n asked. Steve stayed silent. âHey, talk to me big guy. Weâre in this together.â
Steve cleared his throat. âNot so bad.â They pulled away from each other. Y/n cupped Steveâs cheek. âYou want to keep going?â Steve nodded.
Y/n dropped her hands back to his waist and fluttered her fingers across where she assumed the scars were. âCan I take this off?â Steveâs breath hitched at the thought of her seeing him, all of him. But he trusted her.
With a nod, y/n began to lift his shirt. He helped her take it off, and she gasped when she saw him. It was more than she thought it would be, she was certain of that. Jagged lines littered his chest, and a particularly large scar was found on the side of his stomach.
âYou think itâs gross, donât you? Iâm sorry, I shouldnât have-â Steve started to say, but cut himself off with y/nâs next move.
She kissed them. She kissed every scar she could find, even the ones that werenât the demobatâs work. Steveâs heart swelled with love, maybe showing her wasnât a bad idea. When she was finished kissing his scars, she moved to his lips.
Their lips moved together in sync as Steveâs handâs fell to her hips. He guided her back to the bed and sat, while she stood in between his legs. She broke from the kiss to speak.
âI donât think itâs fair that you have your shirt off and I donât,â She smiled. Steve hummed and rose his hands to the bottom of her shirt. He helped her take it off. âNow, I wanna make you feel good tonight. Is that okay, love?â
âYeah,â Steve breathed out. The last few times they were intimate, Steve was in charge. Y/n had never been in that role before, but she was enjoying it. She truly wanted now to be all about him. He deserved it.
She knelt down between his legs and pulled his sweats down along with his boxers. She pumped him a few times before taking him in her mouth. Steve let out a sigh, letting one of his hands gently rest on her head. He didnât push, just let it stay there. Y/n bobbed her head up and down, faster and faster, relishing the moans that were falling from Steveâs mouth. They werenât loud, they were more like whimpers.
âPlease more, please please please,â he breathed. âYou feel so good.â
She went faster and faster until she felt him twitch in her mouth. He shot his load into the back of her throat and she scrunched up her face, but swallowed. She rose to her feet and looked down at Steve, who was still panting. He had a slight sheen of sweat on his forehead, god he looked so pretty.
âDid that feel good?â She asked.
âSo good, I missed that,â He said, through heavy breaths.
âNext time, itâs my turn.â She laughed. He nodded, though she wasnât even sure he was listening.
âCan I hold you?â He asked quietly.
âOf course, baby,â Y/n said, her heart swelling. It had been so long since he had asked that. He adjusted himself against the headboard, putting his pants back on. He held his arms open and allowed y/n to straddle him. She tucked her face into the crook of his neck and wrapped her arms around his chest.
âI love you.â She said.
âI love you too.â
âNo, I mean, I love all of you, scars and all.â
Can I please get a nice fluffy Fred Weasley one shot please? As fluffy as you can possibly imagine. I'm thinking like an 'over the years' type thing, where like it's when they first met, to their first quidditch game and their first date and so on. Fem!reader please <333
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Lupin!fem!reader
Description: When reader has a nightmare, Fred is the one to comfort her.
Warnings: nightmares/flashbacks, a little teeny bit of cursing, angst but fluff at the end, a little bit of gore.
A/N: Anything for you Eden, hope you like it bae <3 I know this isnât exactly what was requested but Eden and I talked about it beforehand and she said it was okay to change the prompt, so hereâs what all of my Freddie whores get!
âLock your door, sweetheart, and remember, donât come out until morning. 9 AM, sharp, weâll have pancakes,â He told her, his face twisting in a feeling that y/n didnât quite understand. Remus knew the moon would be out soon, and he could feel himself changing already. The tingle in his spine and the stretching of his skin would indicate that. In a hurry, he shut y/nâs door, a little too hard.
Y/n knew that she had to stay in her room. Ever since she could remember, once a month her father would tell her to go in her room, lock the door, and turn on the television as loud as she could tolerate. He told her that if she got bored of the TV, she was allowed to use the record player to play her favourite songs and have a dance party for as long as she liked.
Y/n liked these nights because it was the one night a month she was allowed to stay up as long as she wanted. She never could stay up all night, though she always tried.
After she had turned on her favourite show and settled into bed, she heard a strange noise coming from the room over. It made her grimace, it was an animalistic sound. Something must have slipped into the house while her father was going to sleep! She had to protect him.
Against her better judgement, she unlocked her door, and peeked her head out into the hallway. The growls were louder, borderline shrieks. She knew her father was in trouble now, there was no way he could be making those sounds!
As she got closer and closer to the door, her heart rate quickened. What was she supposed to do, she thought. She didnât know a bit of magic, and she was far too small to fight off an animal. Maybe, she thought, if she could find out what was attacking her father, she could call for help.
She opened the door, her heart beating faster than ever. She saw a tangle of matted fur and claws, but most of all, sharp, yellow teeth. She shrieked, trying to run backwards and falling over in the process. The animal snarled and ripped the door open, pouncing on the little girl and shredding her skin with its claws.
Y/n screamed for help, begging for her father, wherever he was, to come help her. She screamed and screamed and screamed-
âY/N!! Wake up!â A groggy voice woke y/n, making her nearly jump out of bed.
âHelp! Help...â Y/n continued, still half in her dream. She kicked and punched, and Fred had to wrap his arms around her so that she would stop trying to pummel him.
âItâs me! Itâs Freddie! Youâre alright love, youâre okay,â Fred said, panic surging throughout him, making his stomach churn. Since y/n had moved in with him when she graduated, she had a few nightmares like this. She never told Fred what they were about, but it scared the shit out of Fred every time.
âFred...I didnât...mean,â Y/n said in between pants.
âItâs okay love, itâs okay,â Fred said, stroking her hair and letting her bury her head in the crook of his neck.
After she had taken a few deep breaths, and her heart rate had turned back to normal, Fred took her by the shoulders and looked her in the eyes.
âThis is the third time this week, my love. You donât have to, but if you want to talk about it, Iâm all ears. Unlike Georgieâ
âNot tonight,â Y/n shook her head. If she was completely honest, she didnât know why she didnât want to tell him. It wasnât like she was trying to keep secrets from him. It just felt like it would be a lot, and she didnât want to overwhelm him.
âFair, but remember, Iâm here for you, my love.â
