Athanasia de Alger Obelia
"A shining child who had to fight to avoid death."
The protagonist of this work, who has possessed a supporting character in the novel "The Lovely Princess". She is a princess born to Emperor Claude de Alger Obelia and Diana, a former dancer, possessing the "jeweled eyes" passed down only by the imperial bloodline. According to the original storyline, she is destined to die by her father's hand, but she strives desperately from childhood to avoid that fate. A character who gradually moves people's hearts with her loveliness and finds her place.

In the middle: Athy from ages 13-15 and 15-17.
Spoon's comment: When I think of Athy, her flustered expression usually comes to mind. I guess you could say it's the cutest... as if she were thinking, "Why isn't this going as planned!". But strangely enough, things always turn out well for her in the end. That relaxed vibe, like "This isn't quite right... but, well, is it okay?", feels like part of Athy's character.
Yes, there's a typo in the book...
"An emperor without blood or tears. Yet warmth lingers beyond the missing memories."
The emperor of the Obelian Empire and father of Athanasia. A cold and ruthless ruler, he appears in the original work "The Lovely Princess" as the one who kills his own daughter. However, in this work, his true motives are revealed, gradually portraying him as a different character, ultimately showing signs of change. After losing his beloved lover Diana, he erased all memories of her himself. Yet, through his time with Athanasia, he gradually regains those feelings. A taciturn and cold figure, his profound loneliness hidden within is striking.
Spoon's comment: He is the character who changed the most because of love in this work. I think he is the most romantic character. Though he has the position of the protagonist's guardian, he might have actually been the most childlike one...
"A wizard who is unnaturally strong for his age and has lived far too long."
A great wizard who has lived for thousands of years. Though outwardly appearing as a boy around Athanasia's age, he is an extraordinary being in terms of magical power, knowledge, and behavior. After awakening from a long slumber, he resides in the Imperial Palace, forming a bond with Athanasia as a peer and friend, staying by her side. Playful and friendly at times, yet arrogant and insolent as if looking down on everything in the world. Seemingly simple, yet his true intentions remain elusive.
Spoon's comment: Lucas is easy to draw without much trouble. His expressions are fun and cheerful, lifting the mood. The mystery surrounding his existence adds to his charm. His constantly changing appearance also makes him fun to draw.
Another typo or one of the many spellings of Kiel's name? Who is to say... In the middle: 15-years-old Ijekiel.
"The sincerity hidden behind a calm and gentle smile."
The heir to the House of Alpheus. A perfect young man of noble dignity. Impeccable manners, and striking good looks. He is Jennette's older brother and grew up with deep ties to the Imperial Palace since childhood. Outwardly, he is kind and gentle to everyone, but he is never to be underestimated or taken lightly. He openly reveals his feelings for Athanasia. Yet, he respects her without forcing his will upon her.

On the right: 17-years-old Ijekiel?
Spoon's comment: Ijekiel was created to embody the essence of an idealized prince. Polite, with a gentle smile that conceals inner strength and honesty. It was crucial to capture the look of his eyes, which always seem to be smiling.
Comments on the right: She has a long neck and fingers. Curly (hair).
"A person who was freer and more beautiful than anyone else, whose existence was brief yet intense."
A free spirit who once danced, she is the woman Claude loved and Athanasia's mother. Though her background seemed incompatible with the Imperial Palace's grandeur, she treated people with warmth and sincerity surpassing anyone else's. Though her appearance in the story is brief, her very existence profoundly influenced the entire lives of Claude and Athanasia.
Spoon's comment: Diana didn't have many scenes, but in every one she appeared, she had to be so achingly beautiful that Claude's feelings became understandable. Beautiful memories and sparkles, the regret of a love that was lost, longing... Drawing her was joyful yet heartbreaking.
Another typo? I'm not sure, she has many last names... Comment in the middle: a pitiable look.
"A girl who yearned for a family bound by blood to accept her within the grand Imperial Palace."
A noble girl raised under the protection of Duke Alpheus. With her quiet yet bright demeanor, gentle appearance, and soft-spoken manners, she is regarded as "beloved by all" within the duke's residence. However, she harbors a secret no one has ever told her, the truth of her birth, unknown even to herself. She is not of imperial blood, she is a being born through magic. Essentially, she is "a life created by someone's will". Though her life at the duke's residence lacked nothing, she had to live without freedom to keep her existence a secret. Amidst this, she continued to nurture her longing while hearing stories about her family, the emperor and the princess. In the middle of her missed encounters with Athanasia, Jennette gazes longingly at the one she wishes to be with.

Spoon's comment: Jennette is a child swept along without knowing anything. But she has a strong heart and a bright, cheerful nature. Had she truly understood, she would have acted differently. She will break free from her narrow world and grow tremendously.
"The sword that silently guards the cold emperor."
Emperor Claude's closest confidant and captain of the knight order. He follows the emperor's orders more faithfully than anyone else, calmly carrying out his duties even while in danger. Yet at the same time, he knows the emperor's vulnerabilities and worries about him. In his relationship with Athanasia, he quietly bridges the gap with thoughtful consideration. Loyal yet warm-hearted, he is one of the rare, trustworthy figures within the Imperial Palace.
Spoon's comment: Felix may lack tact, but he has truly excellent intuition, always responding perfectly when needed. Of course, that intuition doesn't kick in when he upsets Claude (laughs). A kind man with a noble background, skills, looks and character. Could he be the best husband material?
In the middle: Other maids' character designs: Other (maid), Ces, Hannah.
"The warm hands that held and protected a tiny life."
As Athanasia's nanny and maid, she is a woman who has lived within the Imperial Palace for many years. Always by Athanasia's side, who was unloved from birth, she provides a quiet shelter for her life with warm hands and a steadfast heart. Athanasia was able to grow as a princess and as a person precisely because Lily remained unwaveringly by her side. Within the cold confines of the Imperial Palace, Lily was the one person who stood by the child until the very end. Her very existence was Athanasia's "family" and her "world".
Spoon's comment: Lily is Athy's unwavering ally. Athy's happiness is Lily's own happiness. After the events of the story, she holds onto her friendship with Diana and her feelings for Athy, and she begins to think that if she can also find her own happiness, her life would surely become even more fulfilling. It definitely will.
In the middle: Droppy eyes.
"The heart of noble society, a strategist concealing his ambitions."
The head of House Alpheus, father of Ijekiel and Jennette's guardian. A character who hides calculated politics behind his ever-present smile, he skillfully manages his position amidst the delicate tug-of-war with the Imperial Palace. His slight air of clumsiness is also charming. He takes Jennette under his wing and protects her to achieve his own ambitions. All his judgments stem from his unwavering conviction that everything is for the sake of "the House".
In the middle: I'm sure there's a determined side to him.
Spoon's comment: Roger isn't a clear-cut villain, that's the crux (of his character). He doesn't harm others, but he tries to lead them toward his own goals and methods. Because he believes it's right. He's never lived a life outside the established path, I suppose. He also shows the flustered side of an ordinary father when faced with Ijekiel's rebellion. Taking Jennette was just a small scheme he calculated wouldn't harm Claude or the empire. Sadly, he got caught up in the greater scheme of treason.
