“Come on baby-” Jason tries to argue with you as you inch away from him on your couch.
“No! It’s too hot.” You stay firm in your resolve as you push at his arms that you usually love wrapped around you.
Most people wouldn’t believe you if you told them that Jason Todd, the Red Hood, was clingy. They would probably scoff at that or just give you a small placating smile.
But it’s true!
And usually you love that. His body touching yours makes you feel like two pieces of a whole clicking together. He also runs hot in the winter which is a plus since your apartment can get cold in the winter but when summer rolls around it’s a completely different story.
“You are depriving me of love.” He crosses his arms.
You groan into your book as you put it on your face, “Can’t I love you from over here?”
You hear him shift closer and his hand slowly takes the book off of your face so you can see him. He has a slight grin to his lips as he looks down at your scowl.
“Just a twenty minutes than I will be all good to go.” He lies to you like the liar he is.
You know that twenty minutes will turn into three hours because for some reason when he cuddles up to you, your body decides it is the perfect time to nap. You know that you are going to wake up covered in your boyfriend and sweat but looking down at him you sigh dramatically.
“Fine!” You open your arms and he slots himself between them like he was made for it. “But only twenty minutes Jason.”
“Of course baby.”
Four hours later you wake up to the soft evening light and Jason snoring softly on your chest. But you can’t bring yourself to be angry at him so you run your hands through his hair and settle in for more sleep.
Only Jason Todd would cuddle you during a heat wave.

maybe orpheus always looks back because his very effort to reverse death means that he can't look forward. if he could look forward, he could accept eurydice's death, grieve, and keep moving in life. his refusal to accept her death is looking back. his going down to the underworld, asking hades and persephone for her life, trying to lead her out... it's all 'looking back'. he does nothing for the entire story except look back. orpheus! looks! back! it's his entire thing! the story ends the same way it begins: orpheus looked back.

* Astrophage is more like a virus that either alters people, causing them to commit crimes or violent acts, or a power that supervillains are starting to use.
* Grace is still a middle school teacher who got bitten by the spider, obviously.
* Adrian is the one who stitched up the suit (the Aunt May of this universe).
* He has all the perks of a normal Spider-Man, but he's still Grace, so he's incredibly clumsy. He does have a super-strong spider sense, and that's what saves him 100% of the time, but he absolutely does not have the agility. When adrenaline kicks in, he can do anything, but otherwise he'll trip over the most ridiculous things.
* He was wearing his yellow raincoat the first time he saved someone, so now he wears it over his suit (along with his white Converse).
* The spider was discovered by SHIELD (which is undercover as a scientific research facility that Grace works for part-time). After the original test subjects (who were only able to survive the spider mutations if they possessed a specific gene) were killed in an attack, Eva delivered the spider to Grace so he could be bitten before other villains got their hands on that power. (My boy gets unwillingly turned into a savior in every universe.)
* Simon is still an ex-convict who, in exchange for his freedom, is asked by the evil company of the day to test a series of mines infected by what appears to be blood from a meteorite (which eventually turns out to be the symbiote Ellie!).
* At first, they wanted to kill each other, but they end up becoming besties.

My personal headcanon for Ash Ketchum has always been that regardless of if his dream ever came true he'd never truly stop traveling and learning. Because despite "becoming a pokemon master" being his goal if you actually sit down and watch like Any episode of Pokemon the thing that always holds true is his curiosity and desire to learn everything he possibly can related to pokemon. And he'll try anything to! He did contests and the battle frontier. He'd do those silly little shows with Serena if they'd let him.
So I like to imagine him continuing on in life as this nomad who people don't automatically recognize as anyone important ya know? Just this goofy guy going from place to place always lending a helping hand and hes got a cute lil pikachu on him. And hes often lost somewhere with a friend just exploring the woods to see if he'll find anything cool. Ya know, as hes always been, but older now. And its only once hes drifted once more do you maybe stumble into an article on the pokeweb about him and are like... that guy??

You tag a photo or search for a term and boom, there’s pics of this guy. this dude. this man. with his pikachu. and it’s thousands of strangers from across the globe coming on line to talk about some stranger that they met briefly and then never saw again. they’ve compiled their stories and their approximate locations and mapped his journey from continent to continent, a long snaking pathway that spans decades and thousands of miles. He’s apparently one of those Kanto kids that the government let just drop out of school. Its working out very well for him.
