He chuckled softly at such vibrant enthusiasm she had. She reminded him of one of his younger sisters. Aenessa tended to be just as excitable when she was presented with a opportunity to show off something she enjoyed whether it be her needle point or her singing. This young woman showed the same enthusiasm and it spoke to Lysander that there was great love and care in her vineyard and goods.
“Oh please, it could not possibly be any more chaos and scandal than my own existence here upon this throne now would it?”, he jested at her words. In truth she would be a breath of fresh air to the company he kept. It would also give him chance to have casual conversation of Essos and whatever was happening abroad.
“Besides a young woman such as yourself should not stay alone in some tavern inn. Despite my hospitality here I’m afraid my port town is like any other port town and may not be the safest”, he said with a soft smile.
He made motion and one of the servants slipped into the throne room to show her to her accommodations. Seadragon tower would be most fitting for her stay as the rooms were fully furnished and tended to unlike most of the keep. When he’d arrived those that had remained had either been in employ of the Baratheon lord before the Dragon Queen and had not remained for long. What handful of servants he had though had been loyal to the dragons of old and remained such now.
He looked over to one of the servants that filled his goblet once the young woman was shown to her accommodations.
“See to it that our guest is invited to sup with me this evening”, he said and the young man bowed his head nodding before he departed to issue the invitation.
⇺ ☆ ⇻ “Yes, well I suppose not all scandals are unfortunate, yes?” she responded with a warm smile. “Especially one that has brought such prosperity to this island, from what I have been told.” Admittedly, Aera knew little about the economics of Dragonstone, but she did listen when those around her gossiped. In fact, sometimes hearsay was more informative than texts or histories.
While she was confident in her ability to fend for herself amongst “undesirable” sorts, Aera relinquished a bit of relief at the thought of not resorting to staying in an inn. She would have if she’d needed to, certainly, but the new arrangements certainly made things more comfortable.
After being escorted to her new accommodations, Aera set to work on making a list of everything she would need to adorn her new rooms, along with all that would be required to set up the stall for her wineries vintages. She had been so engrossed in her tasks that the servant that approached with the invitation actually startled her!
“Oh! I-- certainly, thank you. One moment-” She shooed the man from the door so she could close it and ready herself properly. She hadn’t planned to partake in company over dinner, but at least she had some finer clothing on hand.
Once dressed as she saw fit and with her hair styled, she once more approached the man at the door to lead her to where Lysander was.
“Your Grace,” she greeted him, pausing at the entrance to properly curtsy. “This was most unexpected.”
