A college freshman called me “sir” today. Dammit, I feel old.
Day 51: Most Interesting/Fun/Scary Interview Ever
So yesterday, I had my second job interview with Uber. First interview was more technical whereas this one was about as hands on as it could really be. They rented out a racetrack and tested us on how we perform in various driving conditions. Most fun one was probably controlling a drifting car. Literally everyone failed on the first try for that one.
There was also an ABS test where they had us put the car in full-throttle and then brake and steer away from a wall of cones at the last second. I actually did extremely well with the ABS, so I guess all those years of me building reflexes when avoiding cars on bike has really helped me. Haha. So if you’re ever in a car with me, you can trust that I can avoid an incoming high speed crash. ;]
I documented a bit of the interview in my snapchat (luminousquasar if you wanna add). I’m going to start trying to get back onto social media. I’ve essentially been nonexistent from social media for the past year or two, but I think putting myself out there will help me get over the slump I’ve been in. I think being boxed in within the toxic environment I was in has really done me a disservice to my mental health.
So I was driving through San Francisco, and I found out there is actually an Ocean Avenue here. If I could find you now, things would get better~ ♪♫ ♪♫ ♪♫ We could leave this town, and run forever~ ♪♫ ♪♫ ♪♫
Day 50: 2nd Interview So I got an email yesterday from Uber ATC for a second interview. I passed their first interview back in early December, but they had legal troubles with the DMV that slowed down the progress of their project. But it looks like they're finally ready to revisit their project. If I pass through the interview process, I'll be working on a pretty awesome and exciting project in SF! Little early to be celebrating because even after this interview, I would still have one more with them. But with the luck I've been having these past few months and the family issues I've been dealing with for the past week, I'll take any good news. I'm pretty excited.

This is my kinda discourse
(me screaming)
White millenials voted for Trump 48% to 42% White women voted for Trump 53% to 43% White college graduates voted for Trump 49% to 45%
The problem isn’t babyboomers, men or ignorance. The problem is white supremacy.
The problem with this post is that it’s comparing whites to whites. Not blacks to blacks or blacks to whites. This is complete bull shit sorry
Black men voted Hillary 82% to 13% Black women voted Hillary 94% to 4%
Latino men voted Hillary 63% to 32% Latino women voted Hillary 69% to 25%
Black millenials voted Hillary 85% to 9% Latinos millenials voted Hillary 68% to 26%
Non-whites college graduates voted Hillary 72% to 22% All of these are from the same exit poll I used for my original post: http://edition.cnn.com/election/results/exit-polls/national/president
It is hard to find a single white demographic that did not come up with a Trump majority (white college graduated women some up with a 51% for Hillary, a small margin indeed) and there is not a single non-white demographic that came up with a Trump majority or came anywhere near it.
I encourage you to look through those exit poll results for yourself. CNN has extensive and well-researched exit polls and the difference in the numbers is far too big to be explained away by a margin of error.
Statistically the strongest defining feature of the Trump supporter is whiteness.
Does this mean the majority of white people actively hate people of color and voted for Trump because they wanted a racist in charge? No. That’s not how white supremacy works.
What it does mean it that, as a result of white supremacy, a LOT of white people who consider themselves ‘not racist’, ignored Trump’s racism and voted for him anyway. A lot of white people did not care about people of color enough to not vote for Trump.
That’s white surpemacy’s biggest feature: apathy to the point of allowing people to die because you can’t be bothered to keep them safe.
So someone called me a "cunt" and I thought that he was trying to start something. But apparently that word is used as lightheartedly as "dude" in Australia... Well, I learned something.
If you're an opponent of Donald Trump, you've probably heard one of his supporters insist that "he's your president now, so you have to accept him," or some variant thereof. The implication here is that, because Trump cleared 270 votes in the elector
“Here’s what you can say to people who tell you that you have to accept Donald Trump: I accept that Trump is the president. But I condemn his unabashed bigotry, and his hateful comments about women, Muslims, Hispanics, and other marginalized groups. I condemn him for mocking Serge Kovaleski, and for welcoming white supremacists into his administration. I condemn him for running a campaign based on division and for lying to the American people. I condemn his inability to admit personal fault. I condemn his lack of intellectual curiosity and his disrespect for American norms and values. On the most fundamental level, I condemn Trump as a human being.”

I just learned that some websites use cookies to adjust prices. That is, if you visit a certain website a lot the price will increase.
You can tell if that’s the case by checking the same web page on a different browser if you have a different number of stored cookies for that site. I checked something on Chegg and it was $14.95 on Chrome, $19.95 on Firefox, and $16.95 on Safari.
The fix? Clear your cookies for that website.
Reblog, save a wallet.
Plane tickets almost always do this!
PLANE TICKETS DO THIS ALL THE DAMN TIME
When you’re looking for plane tickets and waiting for prices to drop, ALWAYS clear your cookies beforehand and switch between browsers. A friend of mine was looking for a flight and getting prices that were the CHEAPEST at $800-1000, I sent her a link for a round trip that was like $495, and it read as $900 on her computer because she had been hounding the airline site.
alternatively: avoid all this headache by using incognito when shopping for plane tickets, text books, etc
Hotel rooms are notorious for this, as well. Just like, go on incognito mode to look at these sites, saves u a lot of time & hassle.
Bruh I ain’t never know dis thank you man

So I started playing YuGiOh Duel Links, and it's a pretty fun throwback to retro YuGiOh. I reached the highest ranking in less than a week and posted a deck profile onto a Facebook group. I got a bunch of praise for it, but now I have 10 people from around the world messaging me for help on their decks. It's pretty fun talking to some of these people from other countries like India and Macedonia, but oh man... some of these people don't have a good foundation for how to play card games and... I just look at the deck and think "I do not have time for this" X_x

Day 49: An old perspective
So today, an old friend from high school messaged me and shared two college application essays I wrote that she helped me proofread during my senior year of high school. It was really interesting to see my perspectives on life at the time and how my upbringing brought me to that point.
I find it amazing how positive my outlook was, a direct contrast to how I see things today. Despite being raised by a single mother and being a victim of crime on multiple occasions, I had a very different perspective than many of those I grew up with. Somehow, I lost sight of that perspective a few years ago, and it gradually worsened as I was placed into a environment toxic to my mental well being in the past year. But perhaps I could learn something from my 18-year-old self. There is much adversity to be thrown at you in life, but how you perceive it will be the difference between staying where you are and moving forward.
I’m excited to move forward in the new year with a fresh mindset. With that being said, I’ll leave this short excerpt from one of my essays that I think pretty much sums up all the ideas nicely.
“Stockton does not have a crime problem; it has a perception problem. […] I want to see, twenty years from now, a significant increase in perceptive individuals willing to take on this world’s problems.”
