“The reader has come from an abusive home/relationship. She and Severus have been dating for some months and after having a really bad day for Sev, they have an argument. This results in Severus may be lashing out causing an accident? maybe the reader falls and hurts herself. Anyway, this scares the reader slightly leaving Sev to fear her leaving him. Definitely needs lovely smutting make up ending haha”
Warnings/Contents: Very brief non-descript mentions of past abuse (cigarette burns), verbal insults, praise kink, oral sex
Category: Angst that ends in fluffy smut.
Song: Forgive me by Evanescence

Severus Snape x ! Female ! Reader
Plot Description : Umbridge’s punishments are medival and savage, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that much out. But what happens when her punishments spread from the students to the teachers? And what happens when she decides to turn on you?
Warnings : Swearing, mature themes, blood, torture.
Quick Note : This little story is heavily inspired by @thebadgerclan. I highly recommend checking her and her fics out, they’re very well written and some of my personal favorites!
Point of View Used : Second.
~ ~ ~
“I know it upsets you darling, but there is not much that we can do,” Severus responded calmly from his desk, eyes flicking up from the test he had been grading to meet your gaze, his features softening as he noticed your furrowed eyebrows and stiff shoulders. You had been complaining about Umbridge’s harsh punishments towards your students, going on about how she treated them like animals instead of people. It truly angered you to see how your students were being treated, entering your classroom with scarred hands and dried up tears on their cheeks.
You let out a huff of breath through your nose at Severus’ response, he seemed to not care nearly as much as you did about the students’ treatment. Sure, he believed that Umbridge treated the students as if they were animals, but there was only so much that he could do. After all, he wasn’t Dumbledore, he couldn’t fire her, that power resided only with the Headmaster.
“There has to be something,” you said to Severus, who only shook his head at you. He knew that if you were to tip Umbridge onto her bad side, there would be a possibility that you would lose your job and forced off of the grounds of Hogwarts. He had seen what nearly happened to Trelawney, but luckily, she had been saved by Dumbledore. But with Dumbledore gone, there wouldn’t be anyone besides himself and Minerva who would come to your aid.
“There is nothing (Y/N). You know just as well as I that there is nothing that we can do to halt her actions,” Severus stated firmly. His tone of voice had you sinking back into your armchair, shoulders slumped and eyes downcast. He knew that you had a motherly love for all of your students, another trait of yours that he admired, but of course, a mother cannot protect her young forever.
“The next time she tries to hurt a student, I’ll take their place,” you mumbled, fiddling with your fingers. But as you finished speaking, you immediately wished that you hadn’t said anything at all. Severus’ eyes snapped upward, his eyebrows furrowed together and his jaw clenching. He knew that you would do anything for your students, but to put yourself in harm’s way on purpose? He wouldn’t allow it, he wouldn’t watch another person he cared about be hurt.
“You will do no such thing,” Severus stood from his desk, striding over to the armchair you sat on and kneeling down beside it. He reached out, taking your hands into his own as he gazed at you, eyes swimming with concern over what you had said. “I cannot bear the thought of you being hurt,” he added, his voice barely a whisper as you smiled softly at him, moving your hands from his own to take Severus’ face into your hands.
“She wouldn’t hurt me, I am her colleague after all,” you said with a shrug.

You could feel Umbridge’s eyes on the back of your head as you taught, silently observing your class with a clipboard perched on her lap, quill scratching against the parchment as she noted every little thing that you were doing. It was almost as if you were a student again, completing a task with the professor hanging over your shoulder. It was unsettling, but it wasn’t as if you could make her leave.
“Alright, this spell is crucial when it comes to protecting yourself. I’d like you to pair up with the person next to you and practice the protection charm,” you instructed, stowing your wand away in the sleeves of your robes as you turned back to your class, noticing how their eyes lit up at the chance to practice spells on their fellow classmates.
But just as your students stood up and began to take out their wands, Umbridge cleared her throat from the corner of your classroom, standing from her seat and striding over to you. You furrowed your eyebrows, puzzled at her sudden reaction. You had always allowed your students to practice spells on one another, how else would they memorize the incantations and wand movements?
“Just what do you think you are doing?” Umbridge asked with a raise of her eyebrows, tapping her manicured fingernails against her clipboard. You tilted your head, narrowing your eyes at her.
“Teaching my class,” you answered, lifting your arms so that they crossed over your chest. “The students are going to demonstrate Protego on one another so that they memorize both incantation and-”
“The Minister has already proclaimed that students do not need…demonstration in order to know a spell Professor,” Umbridge snapped, cutting you off in such a way that already had your blood boiling.
“How will students know how to perform a spell if they don’t practice it?” you retaliated, your voice raising slightly. Your students had quieted by now, opting to listen to their favorite professor yell at their least favorite.
“They do not need to practice a spell in order to perform it,” Umbridge replied simply, lifting her chin as if she was taller than you, though you had just enough height to tower over her.
“Professor, I believe in allowing practice, that is the way that I have taught my class. There is nothing wrong with performing a spell, that is how wizards learn,” you explained calmly, though you were itching to curse the stout woman in front of you.
“The Minister would beg to differ. You know, I believe that you are just as dismissive of the rules as your students are Professor!” Umbridge said shrilly, her voice drilling into your ears and etching into your mind, which you mentally cringed at. You sometimes wondered why Dumbledore ever let her onto the team of professors in the first place, did he not run background checks on the wizards/witches he was hiring?
“Dismissive of rules? In this classroom, I make the rules!” you yelled. Umbridge’s eyes widened, and your students had grown so quiet that a pin’s drop could have been heard. You regretted yelling instantly, hands flying to your mouth as you blinked. But the damage was done, there was nothing that you could do to stop Umbridge’s rage. This was it, the moment that you would lose your job at Hogwarts.
“I think that you and I need to have a talk. Wouldn’t you agree Professor (L/N)?” Umbridge asked through gritted teeth, gesturing to the door with a too-sweet smile on her face. You swallowed the lump in your throat, and though you wanted to disagree and stay with your class, you nodded.
“Class is dismissed. But I expect an essay on the Protection charm and its usefulness by Monday,” you turned to your class, shoving your hands into the pockets of your robes. They groaned back at you, disappointed, but they all filed out nonetheless once their things were gathered. Once the last student shut the door, you returned your attention to Umbridge. “Dolores-”
“Don’t even begin to reason with me, you are just as bad, if not worse, than the students I have to deal with every day!” she exploded at you, and you winced, chest tightening with each word that she practically screamed at you. She shoved a hand into her robes, digging around for something before she removed her wand from her robes, tip already pointed at you.
“I believe that there is only one punishment that fits what you have done today,” Umbridge practically growled at you, and if she wasn’t this mad, you might have joked that she resembled an angry bulldog. But now was definitely not the time for jokes, your life was possibly on the line. “The Cruciatus Curse ‘ought to make you respect your higher-ups,” she gave you another too-sweet smile before raising her wand at you.
“Dolores, this isn’t nesse-”
“Crucio!”
Your body felt as if it were on fire, little flames erupting on your skin as you fell onto your back, eyes screwed shut. And here you thought getting hit with Stupefy hurt, this was one hundred times worse. Your lips parted, but no sound came out of your throat, it felt as if it had closed in on itself. Your head burned, your chest ached, everything hurt, but it wasn’t normal pain. This was pure torture, and there was nothing that you could do to stop it, all you could do was lie on the floor.
Finally, after what felt like hours, you found your voice, and a blood-curdling scream echoed throughout your classroom. You’d think that Umbridge would realize what she was doing and cease her torture, but it only seemed to fuel her anger, and she twisted her wand. The little flames turned into forest fires, and you screamed again as every bit of pain you felt intensified.
Just outside of your classroom, striding down the hall, was Severus. He’d finally found a moment of peace between his classes, and planned to spend what little time he had with you, knowing that you’d make him feel better instantly. Usually, when he was down the hall from your classroom, he’d hear you teaching or hear spells being cast and student laughter, but it was eerily silent.
And then you screamed.
It was a sound he’d never heard before, and one that he never wanted to hear as you fell silent again. His once brisk walk sped up to a sprint as he threw open the door to your classroom, horrified to find you twisting and turning on the floor with Umbridge standing above you. He felt like the world stopped rotating as his eyes took in the sight in front of him, he’d seen this before, but this time, he was able to do something about it.
“Enough!”
Umbridge’s wand twisted before falling back down to her side, her head turning to face Severus, who was positively fuming. You were laying on the ground, unmoving but breathing, and Severus rushed to you, one hand cradling the back of your head while the other checked for a pulse. And when he found one, he nearly broke down at how weak it was, had he been even a second late…
He shook his head at the sudden thought, his arms hooking beneath your legs and supporting your neck before swiftly lifting you from the ground. “And just what do you think you are doing?” Umbridge reached for Severus’ arm in an attempt to stop him, but the look he gave her had her stepping away from him. He adjusted you so that you were comfortable in his arms, your head tucked just beneath his chin as he stepped around Umbridge, striding towards the door of her classroom.
And just before he left, with a swift turn of his head and fire burning in his eyes, Severus finally spoke to her, his voice a raspy growl.
“You will not get away with this.”
* *
The pit of worry that sat in Severus’ chest was sickening, his leg bouncing with that same worry as he waited outside the grand oak doors that opened up into the Hospital Wing. He didn’t know how long he had been sitting there for, it could’ve been minutes, hours, hell, it could’ve been days, and Severus wouldn’t have known. He didn’t have a care for what time of day that it was, all that mattered was you being alright.
The hands that rested on his clothed thighs curled into white-knuckled fists as his mind replayed how he’d found you, lying on your back with your head tilted just a tad to the left. Your robes were scratched open, as if you’d been attacked by a rabid animal. Your eyes were shut, but they twitched every so often. Your limbs were shaking as if you had been through a snowstorm with nothing but your undergarments on. You were in horrible condition, to put it bluntly.
Just as he was going to stand and enter the Hospital Wing, the digustingly familiar sound of heeled shoes clicking against stone rang out in the otherwise empty corridor. Severus’ shoulders stiffened, his spine straightening out as Dolores Umbridge approached him, her eyebrows furrowed and her eyes burning with an emotion that he couldn’t put his finger on.
“You have no right to be here,” Severus murmured, his voice deadly quiet as Umbridge paused, her gaze flicking to meet his own, and he sensed a twinge of guilt in the stout woman. But his thought was quickly shut down when he remembered your state, and that she was the reason you were here in the first place.
“I have every right to be here,” Umbridge replied flatly, her shoulders rising and falling with a sharp breath as she took the seat besides Severus, who visibly scooted away from her with a sour expression on his face. “I only wish to remind Professor (L/N) that her time at Hogwarts is finished,” she added quickly, and Severus could already feel his blood boiling.
“You will do no such thing,” Severus replied curtly, his eyebrows furrowing together as Umbridge clicked her tongue. She opened her mouth to say something, but fell silent as her gaze flicked to someone behind Severus, and the Potions Master almost let out a chuckle as he watched the color drain from her face. He knew who stood behind him, and he knew that Umbridge was royally screwed.
“Good evening Professors,” Dumbledore smiled with a delighted twinkle in his eye, his hands folded comfortably in front of his periwinkle robes. Umbridge couldn’t muster a reply, she merely swallowed the lump in her throat. “Oh! I do have something for you Professor Umbridge, a little..well..gift,” Dumbledore smiled again as he reached for something in his robes, removing a rolled piece of parchment that he pushed into Umbridge’s hands.
Umbridge hesitated, her eyes flicking from Dumbledore to the rolled parchment before she finally opened and read whatever was written. In a flash, her eyes burned with anger and she sprang up in her seat, glaring at Dumbledore so fiercely that if looks could kill, both Dumbledore and Severus would be lying on the ground.
“You’re firing me?! That can’t be right, surely this is for Professor (L/N)!” she said angrily, her fist curled around the parchment as she continued to glare at Dumbledore. But he didn’t react, he only shrugged and pushed open the doors to the Hospital Wing, smiling at something that only he could see.
“When you learn to treat others with respect, perhaps you could become a professor again. But for now,” Dumbledore turned his head so that he stared straight at Umbridge, who was still postively fuming. “I’m sure you don’t need someone to guide you to the exit.” And the older wizard smiled again as Umbridge stormed off, muttering something that only reached her ears, or perhaps, he simply didn’t care enough to listen.
Severus stood beside Dumbledore, gazing into the open Hospital Wing, his eyes falling on a figure hidden by white curtains. But the shadows cast on the wall showed that whoever was in that particular bed was sitting up, and seeing as there was nobody else in the Wing, Severus felt his heart soar.
You were okay.
In the halls of Hogwarts, where secrets lie,
Is a Potions Master with a twinkle in his eye.
Amidst the snowflakes, a touch of his sneer,
Yet a hint of merriment this time of year.
With robes as dark as a wintry night,
He brews his potions all day and all night.
But deep down within, a glimmer of light,
A Christmas spirit, shines so bright.
He will scowl and grumble with disdain
But in his own way, he feels the holiday's refrain.
For even Snape, and his mysterious ways,
Can find joy in the magic of the long December days.
•Here’s alittle sev Christmas poem I wrote along with the cutest picture I could find to envision what I was trying to portray:)) Merry Christmas and happy holidays🎄🖤

Imagine going to the Yule Ball with Sev, dancing with him through the night just having a wonderful time together🥹
staring at you like you’re his whole world and he doesn’t want that moment to end, I wouldn’t either🖤
I’m not very big in Sev having muscles or being super muscular cause I just think he wouldn’t have been.
BUT…. This photo HAS ME WEAK YALL😩🧎♀️
Look at that stare🧎♀️
Sev had this way of shielding his feelings under layers of cynicism and irony: sometimes he succeeded so well that they languished in the shadows until they were lost.
Severus Snape, with his piercing gaze,
Was a man of few words, and even fewer ways.
But hidden deep within his heart,
Was a love that would never depart.
She was a witch of beauty and grace,
With a smile that brightly lit up her face.
Snape loved her with all his might,
And knew that she was his shining light.
Together they'd walk in the Forbidden Forest,
Their love a secret, but never a mistake.
Though his heart was heavy with guilt and pain,
He knew that his love for her would never wane.
So he kept his love a secret, hidden and true,
And in her arms, he found a happiness anew.
For Severus Snape, the potions master,
Had finally found a love that would last forever.
my man knows me all too well. my obsession for sev is so bad, bad in a good way though🥹🖤

We all want, myself included, to hope he was alive.
Sev was tired, exhausted.
He didn't live.
He was trying to survive.
Ive heard some say they believe he couldn't wait to die.
I don’t think that, I do think he wanted out from exhaustion.
He didn't deserve to perish, like that, in any way.
But can a person with such a great sense of duty never fail to do his job?
He carried it out until his last breath "Anything" was the reply, and so it was.
Would a wizard as powerful as he survive?
Yes.
But did he want too?
I feel at times a lot of his life was just a duty owned to Dumbledore, not a free life.
It breaks my heart, he deserved a much better fate, a much better ending.
To Severus.
The bravest character I’ve ever read about🖤
POV: you and sev had an argument and he brings you flowers because he felt bad for making you upset🥺
This picture is so beautiful🖤
The surface does not create difficulties. Depth creates a lot of it and for that reason it was better to judge him. Knowing him meant entering his complex/difficult soul.
Nobody wanted to know him.
Sev didn't do much to make himself loved, but his behavior in reality was pain, he didn't feel worthy of friendships nor a happy life.
This is heartbreaking, and so sad. Sev was a deep person and depth is scary.
The surface keeps us safe.
The depth makes you think.
Severus Snape as a character in Barbie 2023
Severus, if he had the opportunity to live.
Because with the defeat of Voldemort he could have his life back.
But..
Rowling killed him, forgot him in the Shrieking Shack and there wasn't even a decent funeral…
His body has never been found, which leads us to hope that he is alive somewhere, hopefully...
Anyway…
Sev deserved better. I think he would’ve went somewhere in the muggle world where no one would bother him again and lived his life in peace.
That’s all he ever wanted was peace:(
