You can round the edges off a character to make them more “relatable” or whatever, but you also run the risk of losing what defined them in the first place. The end result is bland and generic.

ARMYs really ruined BTS for me tbh… I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I’m just so tired and wanna rant

Before I continue, yes I understand that not all ARMYs are toxic, a lot of you are some of the nicest coolest people I’ve ever talked to

But because BTS is so big and the fandom has grown, there are plenty of toxic people within it now and it’s soooo fucking annoying

ARMYs start shit all the time now… like all the time, they say whatever whenever because they think BTS are THE only talented Kpop group for some dumb reason

“This groups rappers could never compare to ours” “Ok but has anyone noticed they’re copying BTS?” “It’s cool that your group won that little award, but BTS went to the BBMAs so…”

I’m so sick and tired of this shit

I know that in some cases y’all are just trying to defend yourselves, but honestly the majority of the time now, I see ARMYs starting stuff before anyone else, not just saying things out of defense

Y’all constantly talk down on other groups like they aren’t talented or something, just because BTS went to the BBMAs, well news flash: Western recognition for a band doesn’t determine their level of talent

All Kpop groups are talented and have worked very hard to get where they are

YES! Even idols under the big three companies! They all trained for years, stay up late working on songs and choreo, and put in lots of time to be the best artists they can be

All Kpop idols have put in their fair share of time and work to be recognized. They all deserve recognition. I’m proud of all of them.

Let me repeat that:

BTS IS NOT THE ONLY KPOP BAND WORTHY OF BEING LOVED AND PRAISED

Don’t get me wrong, I love BTS, and I have for many years. The boys are so talented and I’m glad people are seeing that

I’m just annoyed that y’all will shit on every other band, start rumors about members, and trend rude things about them on Twitter because of your weird obsession of keeping BTS at the “top.”

Which once again, I’ll mention, getting recognized in America isn’t really the “top.”

BTS love other Kpop bands. They love being friends with them and hanging out with them. I’m sure it rips their hearts out when you attack their friends for no good reason.

Other bands deserve the love BTS has, so stop acting this way. It’s embarrassing for the rest of the fandom that knows better and it’s embarrassing for BTS. The way y’all talk about them now paints them as arrogant jerks, but we all know they are far better than that. I’m tired of hearing

“BTS knows they’re better than all other groups” “They won’t let other groups ride on their coattails” “BTS knows they ended all other groups”

Like seriously stop, BTS doesn’t think that way about other groups, those people are their friends, they’re not constantly trying to show them up or be above them.

BTS is doing what they love. They’re making music and sharing it with the world. But because of you guys their messages don’t come off the same way they used to. And people don’t see them the same way anymore either.

You’ve turned them into a spectacle, not artists.

It’s not about you ARMY. It’s about the boys you’re supposed to love and support and carry through everything.

It’s not about starting fanwars or acting like other groups aren’t as talented. It’s about sharing how amazing BTS is and showing the world how truly talented they are.

Just share positivity. You know that’s what your boys want. They want you to be kind to others and enjoy their music. Stop constantly hating other groups and accusing them of copying BTS and other such nonsense. (Y’all almost ruining Minos life the other day by passing around misinformation bc that’s how ready y’all are to destroy anyone who isn’t BTS is a whole different rant of mine).

Just love. Spread love. Be kind. Support don’t discourage. Lift up don’t take down. Love don’t hate. I know you know better ARMY. Do better for your boys

Yes I know, not all ARMYs, I clarified this originally, I know there’s plenty of people within ARMY who aren’t toxic, I get that, I’m just saying that ARMY grew significantly recently for obvious reasons and therefore by sheer numbers of new fans, there’s a lot more toxicity within this fandom recently, many new fans don’t know how to act and surprisingly I’ve seen a lot of people feeding into their attitudes instead of condemning them for starting shit

Yes I understand that other fandoms are toxic too, I understand that there’s toxic people in all fandoms, I concentrated on ARMY bc they’re the fandom the whole world is looking at right now due to BTS going to the BBMAs, however just because I used ARMY as an example doesn’t mean what I’m saying doesnt apply to all fandoms, it was a message for all of you to take to heart and understand that fan wars are ridiculous and they need to stop, and if we just let toxic people be and ignore it instead of condemning it as some people suggested, the toxic people will just get worse since they aren’t facing consequences for their harmful behavior, everyone needs to be kept in check

4. My only message here is to stop hate, it’s not to encourage you to push blame to another fandom, or try to argue why someone else is worse. I wasn’t trying to tell y’all you’re wrong for only liking one group. It’s completely ok to like one group and one group only. But it’s not ok to be rude in any way or form to another. That’s my whole message. Stop hate.

the first time we get to see all four elements working together for a common enemy, blah blah blah, but i started laughing because

sokka’s fucking boomerang. sokka threw a fucking boomerang at princess azula, renowned lightning bender and heir-apparent to the throne of the fire nation.

Azula considered Sokka to be the biggest threat in this group and countered him first. What this picture miss is Sokka sanding nearby. All members of this group unleash their attack at same time, but Azula reacts to boomerang first. If you watch this part in slow motion, you could see that Sokka’s boomerang was the first thing that would hit Azula and may even incapacitate her making her unable to continue to fight. So she had to counter in first. She deflected it with well placed shoot.

Then and only then, when there is no immediate threat, she starts to create her blue fire wall to counter other elements.

Lets think about this. How hard should you have to throw something to make it move faster that any elemental attack? Either all elemental attacks are slow or you are pretty strong. That said nonbenders with good aim and strong hands could easily overpower benders if they timed it right.(Aang got captured by Yuan archers who are all nonbenders.) Azula knew of this and acted according to it. She is talented bender and you may think that she should enlist other benders to help her track and capture Zuko, Iroh, and later avatar, but instead she uses her nonbender friend to help her.

Even if you have no bending you can still fight… and win.

When Aang, Sokka, and Toph all confronted Azula, she proceeded to make them chase her and waste their time. Azula is not only talented, she’s sly and smart as hell. WHO WAS THE ONE WHO SAW THROUGH THAT BS CHASE?

NOT ONLY THAT but after Sokka explains to the Gaang that Azula is just baiting them, Azula actually verbally attacks Sokka. Not through fighting, but through words, knowing not only that an intelligent person like him could only be brought down with emotions BUT that Sokka was the leader and if she could get him the stay, Aang and Toph would follow his lead.

Azula knew Sokka was their strength and took him down. WOULD SHE DO THAT IF HE WASNT A SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO HER!!??!

No. She wouldn’t waste her time and energy on someone she didn’t think was capable of actually getting in her way.

We’re always talking about YG being shit, but some of us like to pretend that JYP is a loving family. JYP is just another company with the wrong priorities. In order:

1. Fuckboy

So some losers who were looking for dirt found Jay Park’s old Myspace page and the comments he made when he was a 17 year old trainee on the other side of the globe from his family. Basically that he hated being in Korea and that the training was hard. Pretty standard stuff tbh. Public outrage occurs and JYP “fires” 2PM’s leader. Jay goes back home. 

But people winded down. They realize that a teenager who was homesick and undergoing JYP’s harsh training system didn’t deserve the vitriol and hate he received. Fans wanted him back! But the damage was done. Jay Park wasn’t coming back to JYP. 

Jay did come back. And created his own company and sub-company with very little outside support. According to industry rumors, he and his company were blocked from music programs and award shows for years by JYP. Jay’s song “Fuckboy” is apparently about this.

2. “There is only one China.”

So Tzuyu briefly waves a Taiwanese flag on a TV show and some uber- nationalist Chinese people get their panties all caught up in a bunch. According to them Taiwan doesn’t exist, it’s all part of China anyway and 16-year old Tzuyu not “supporting” that fact is some kind of assault or some shit, I guess. A bunch of Chinese netizens call for Twice to be banned from performing in China. 

And JYP responds with a video of Tzuyu apologizing to China for her horrible statement. She bows and reads her apology off a piece of paper in a monotone voice; “There is only one China” she says. In Taiwan, the former President came out to say that Tzuyu had done nothing wrong and had no reason to apologize. Political tensions between the two countries momentarily worsened because some kid waved a flag in South Korea. 

The fact that JYP would A) prioritize Chinese yuan over Tzuyu’s right to identify with Taiwan was fucking gross. And that he B) made Tzuyu apologize for her actions like some kind of political prisoner in a country with no free speech is extra disgusting.

3. Dating is Illegal

Day6′s Junhyeok is apparently dating a fan. Maybe. No one is 100% sure. But his fansites shut down because they couldn’t stand the heartbreak~~. Eventually, the fan in question provided screenshots of messages with him to prove that they were dating which was honestly, the shittiest thing she could have done to her significant other. She outed their relationship and JYP effectively kicked Junhyeok to the curb. 

Most international fans didn’t care about him dating as much as some of them cared about him “putting Day6 in a negative light”. Some will still tell you that JYP made him pick between his girlfriend and the group, and that he chose his girlfriend. Lmao, sure. Junhyeok showed up on the survival show, The Unit about 2 years after the incident because he wanted to somehow continue his music career. 

4. Ice Cubes for Lunch

Twice had a stream about two weeks ago, and they started talking about dieting. And it wasn’t that surprising considering how we know that all our idols have to go to extremes to maintain their figures. But it was definitely disturbing when Momo mentioned that she spent a whole week without eating any food in order to lose 7kg (15lbs). 

“When I lied down in bed to try to sleep, I was scared I might not wake up again”. Momo ate an ice cube and was scared that she would gain weight. They all had to lose weight before Sixteen aired so they went to a sauna where Sana collapsed. And Jungyeon, whose official profile says she is 169cm (5′5″) had to be at 44kg (97lbs) at weigh-in. That’s fucking underweight. 

This isn’t even everything. Chaeyeon was punished for sneaking food (as a growing 14 year old), Sana and Momo would chew bread and then spit it out, Momo was constantly spitting in the hope that she would lose water weight. This is so fucked up and I feel like it’s strange that Onces haven’t asked for any feedback from the company for behavior and requirements that are frankly, abusive. Especially considering the girls were all developing teens as this was happening, and not grown women.

5. JYP Dungeon and Favorites

The YG dungeon is legendary at this point. So is YG’s knack for playing favorites. (Lee Hi who?) But you’d have to be seriously misinformed to think JYP is any better. Day6 have been trudging along practically all on their own because the company does shit to promote them. Got7 was hitting up in popularity until Twice exploded and then had steady drops in music video and song quality. 2AM is apparently, technically still a thing. It isn’t though, that’s straight up nonsense. Most of 2PM is in the army while Jun.K does his solo thing in Japan.

And where the fuck is 15&???? They’ve had 5 singles, and no albums since 2012. And those singles did well. Their last single ‘Love is Madness’ topped all 7 charts in position #1 or #2. That was three years go.
