1) It’s rude, plain and simple. I make an effort to respond quickly and in depth to any inquiries, and you are not doing me the same courtesy.

2) It leaves me hanging. I don’t know if you’re still interested or not. As far as I know you may have dropped off the earth never to be heard of again, or I may randomly hear from you 6 months later saying you have the money and are ready to commission now. Pretty much this goes back to number one, it’s rude and leaves me uncertain where we stand.

3) Perhaps this is me reading too much in to it, but the implication of the ghosting always seems to be that I’m asking too much money for my pieces. My works are detailed and require quite a bit of hand sewing. They take a considerable amount of time, effort and materials. They are art, and I refuse to under value that, and the perceived implication that I’m overcharging for my work always triggers my “fuck you” response. I’m not getting rich off this and handmade work deserves to be valued.
