Day 6 of @jatp-week: monday mix!

sky high au!! tho not really an active fandom, i watched sky high again recently and been throwing around this au with essie ! aaaaand it was fun to do more mid-2000s styles for the gang since the movie is from 2005 :D alex, luke, and reggie are sidekicks at sky high and julie, flynn, willie are heroes! there's a whole plot about caleb being the (villain) headmaster and he's secretly recruitung villains from the hero class (like willie) to help him become more powerful. sidekick alex kind of messes up the plan when he falls (melts) for willie tho ;)

Imagine Julie’s lookin for Luke but cannot find him (if he’s not with the boys and not with her where the heck is he) Reggie and Alex kind of guess where he is bc ever since being given Unsaid Emily Luke cannot help but still go to his parent bc ever since being given it, it has changed some aspects of their everyday tasks that Luke can see, the atmosphere in the house is less heavy of course they’re still sad about not having their son but to get that song, knowing all these years he felt bad too about that night he ran away gives some closure for their side.

When Luke poofs back Julie asks if he wants to talk about it, before he didn’t share that he goes there but she just wants him to know they can talk about things like that. (I just feel like he was apprehensive about saying where he goes but also why he interrupted Alex when he was going to clarify who Emily was the first time she found Unsaid Emily bc he probably thought it would be insensitive to be like “She’s my mom who’s still here.” to the girl who just lost her mom.)

Julie can still see he’s apprehensive but she gives him a tender smile as she says, “We can talk about that stuff, I promise you I’m okay with it, she seems great.”

And then he cracks a smile and he starts telling her things about his mom, and how being there at his parents as like a fly on the wall is comforting, it’s like he’s making up for the time that went by without him that they went through. As he’s talking he says, “She’d probably really like you.”

She smiles at his statement. There’s silent between them but Luke then gets an idea as he grabs his journal, flips open to a page, “You know… there were these ‘planning Unsaid’ pages.” He rips out some pages as he extends them to her to take saying, “Just to help them more.”

She’s apprehensive this time, “Are you sure?” He gives a reply, “I promise you I’m okay with it. It might be helpful to all parties.”

From there Julie goes occasionally to the Patterson house under means of “hey I found more songs your son wrote” (which in some regard is true) but Emily finds comfort in this girl, a connection to her lost son and she also seems interested in hearing what she has to say.

Doesn’t take long for Emily to cook a famous recipe of hers and Julie gets to experience it and see that Luke was spot on in saying she’s a great cook.

It doesn’t take long for Emily to pull out the photo albums and Julie seems a timeline of the long friendship Luke, Alex, Reggie and Bobby had. There’s countless Halloween pictures of the four, them on vacations together, them being at the Patterson house as their main spot. As the albums are being gone through Emily mentions bits about the Mercer’s and Peters’ that she knew just from how often their kids were at her house. She also mentions how she misses them too since she did see these boys grow up.

HOWEVER, when Emily tries pulling out the Luke baby pictures there’s suddenly there’s this gust of wind that keeps the book from opening. (Luke’s a fly on the wall again when Julie is there and he is very adamant about that album not being seen especially by her 💀).

It doesn’t take long for Emily to open Luke’s door (to the room that remains untouched ever since he ran away). More as a glimpse into who her son was to this girl who she assumes is under the impression she doesn’t know said son. Julie sees the kind of left messy room. But she notices how the shelves in his room there’s a solid line of dinosaur figures (that boy has a dinosaur wallet, he was/still is a huge dinosaur nerd you cannot convince me otherwise). “He’s always been into them, whenever I come in here to dust, I make sure to not reposition them bc that was something he was always particular about.” She informs. (Which Julie totally brings up as soon as she learned he’s a dinosaur nerd.)
