I know the idea of John constantly watching Sam as a kid, looking for demonic influence, trying to see if his son can be saved, is deeply sad. But its also kind of hysterical.…..Sammy’s doing normal kid shit and John’s having a mental breakdown about it. He bites a kid in kindergarten and John looks at him sideways for a week. He makes them transfer middle schools when Sammy gets assigned a history project on the Salem witch trials. When Dean and Sam pretend to be Arthur and Merlin, and Sam starts “doing spells,” John yells at them and then has to go on a three day bender to cope. Sam doesn’t show the same natural inclination towards guns that Dean does and John’s like “good good good, this is a good sign!! ….unless thats what he WANTS me to think…….😠”
