there are tropes that make me uncomfortable. so what I do is that I avoid these tropes. but I will never shame or harass people who enjoy them because what fictional things a stranger likes is literally none of my business, especially when theyβre not harming anyone in real life.
so by βsupportβ I mean I think people have the rights to create and consume whatever they want. I may hate the things they enjoy, but I will always defend their rights to exist without being censored.
initially I didnβt think βletting people do whatever they want, avoiding a certain topic while defending its rights to existβ meant I supported it when all I did was βnot care about it but would defend it as well as every other thing in fictionβ. but if some people want to say this means I support it then I support it.
I will still avoid certain tropes that make me uncomfortable. but even though I avoid them because I personally hate them, I will support and defend their rights to exist.
Did you know that it was prohibited in North Korea for their citizens to dye their hair (anybody who violated the rule would be punished) and it was also a strict rule that everybody must wake up before 6 AM everyday?

"North Korea has added the βrooster hairstyleβ and blouses with see-through sleeves to its banned fashion list, saying they βobscure the image of a socialist system,β sources inside the country said.

The new regulations were detailed in a video lecture shown to people, with hairstyle violators forced to shave their heads, a resident of the northeastern province of North Hamgyong told RFA Korean on condition of anonymity for security reasons.
