"Yab Yum" started out as an experimental and atmospheric psych folk side project from Blasting Rod. It's evolved (devolved?) into a minimal, and loose, rock'n'roll duo road testing ideas for Blasting Rod.
For this show I borrowed a @fender amp from @tsukienko and used only one pedal, a @jhspedals Foot fuzz, turned on for all but one number, with a true-bypass @tcelectronic tuner. These two pedals both fit easily into the @epiphone Casino hard case, along with the cables for this small stage area, and there was still room for two of each Blasting Rod CD. Only the Fender's "Vintage" channel was used. All finger picking.
Chihiro brought her snare and kick, as usual, but none of her own cymbals, and played with multi-rods. For her, multi-rods are a one-show disposable item because she's usually destroyed them by the end of the set, if not song, trying to get her usual stick tone, but it does mellow out the sound for a small venue like this. She also opened a pop-up for her apparel line, Chee's Trick.
All of the other stuff "on stage" was for a really fantastic sounding reggae band from Toyohashi called Jamming-U, the headliner.
