Like the man will fully blame himself for things that were horrible events that happened to him and ppl around him despite said events being completely out of his control. And then at other times he'll "well it is what it is. Womp womp. Nothing anyone could have done" to things that were very much in his control (or just straight up caused by him). Like no buddy that one is your fault, i think we need some sort of middle ground you shouldn't blame yourself for being abused by family and strangers either (or whole ass institutions). I wish later runs would have kept this aspect of his character instead of just keeping the 'cocky bastard who ruins shit while looking cool' aspect. Like that man is a victim and it needs to stay a core part of his character, because once again, ugly victims that don't fit neatly in most people's mind as deserving of empathy are very fucking important. Horrible mistakes and bad harmfull coping mechanisms and all that

How did I get into hellblazer you ask?

Well.. I’d just gotten V for Vendetta for Christmas, and after finishing it I couldn’t get enough of David Lloyd’s art style. So when stumbling upon a cover of the family man on Pinterest, with David Lloyd’s name on it, I had to look further into it. And now I’m here.
