She has all those moments with a facial cream and reading fashion magazines, and sometimes it feels like she is that rich vain girl worried only about her appearance. Except she is so far away from it. She is a way drowning in a dept that is not possible to be paid, she is often struggling to survive, to live another day, we see her doing a lot of disgusting stuff.

Another thing of this way Faye is presented is the idea of vanity, futility, lack of complexity. Overly interest in looks because of the lack of anything inside. And Faye feels like that. She doesn't see herself as a complete person because of her amnesia. Her personality, her values, her morality it is all gone and she suffers because of it.

Besides there is her problem with letting people getting close, being vulnerable. It is more than understandable why she has problems trusting people and her vain looks and her façade that implies a simple and not deep personality are as much as a coping mechanism as a way of survival.
