I am very old and remember the ship wars back when Hueco Mundo was still coming out and fandom was on LiveJournal... sad some fans have not progressed... so sorry you seem to be getting the brunt of it lately

I wasn't implying that you were an IR fan. I brought it up so as to give the full context of why the fandom is the way it is today. It's not as simple as "annoying fans of the canon ship roughshodding over everyone else bc their ship is official and therefore think everyone else is wrong". I'm sure the new fans who got into Bleach after its conclusion are more likely to fall into that category, but those fans are still a minority. Bleach has the popularity and longevity that it has bc of fans who have been around since the OG anime. If it weren't for them holding up the fort Bleach wouldn't have even gotten the war arc animated and opened up the franchise to these new fans. So in the context of fan wars, what we are seeing is old, angry IH fans who put up with being the little guy that all the other ships bullied severely for years getting their lick back. It's not fair, and it's not right bc nobody deserves to be bullied over anime characters, but it's the natural consequence of the pendulum swinging the other way. IH still *is* the smaller ship, not just in comparison to IR but there are far more ppl who either don't support the ship or support a different ship than there are IH shippers. I barely see any fan projects being held by that fandom, meanwhile IR month is still going strong every year and I've seen several zines, as well as different UH projects. The difference is you are more likely to see IH shippers engaging with Bleach related things collectively bc it still interests them and they are (for the most part) happy with the way the story concluded, while the other ships are more likely to only engage with Bleach in controlled spaces where their favorite character/ship is involved and where they can find ppl who did not like the ending.

As a multishipper who has been around for a really long time (I'm talking around the conclusion of the first anime) I wanna say that the fandom was significantly worse prior to the manga ending, and 90% of the harassment actually came from ichiruki shippers (who also tended to ship either UH or IsH). There were some big name accounts actually here on tumblr (so-unrequited immediately comes to mind) who existed for this purpose of solely harassing fans and ofc the deathberry forum while it was active was incredibly toxic and targeting IH fans. There was even an incident of an IR fan (who I believe is still on tumblr to this day) that went as far as faking a suicide attempt to cause drama and point the finger at IH shippers. So thinking about IH shippers being on the receiving end of the worst harassment for over a decade prior to the manga finale, I don't really blame them for how their side became more emboldened after IH was canonized (though everyone should still behave with common sense and dignity, I can't stand harassment of any kind over ships). Even now IH fans are the minority. They only seem "loud" bc many IR and other shippers have taken a step back from Bleach and from the fandom in general.

I'm sorry to bring you into negativity especially bc these ppl (multishippers) follow you, but i'm tired of how overpoliced we are especially regarding our negative feelings to I//H like damn we are chill, never engage in discourse, don't keep going into other folks accounts or fanarts being hostile, but just because SOME (bc this fandom has plenty of multishippers) dislike or say UH is better than I//H we are devil incarnate? Even worse when we point out how most of the harassment and hostility comes from that fandom and we are told to not generalize??? Or it's a "two sides are wrong" stuff when again WE ARE IN OUR LANE! Disliking or critizing I//H =/= harassing the shippers? Their fandom needs to start taking accountability bc UH is not the only one they keep disturbing.

Heyyaa are there any encounters between Ulqui and Ori in the new bleach novel? Or just Ulqui since he interest me the most. Can you share some if its okay? Thank you regardless 🌹
