Lovely Haiku

Two sleepy Siberian Huskies

Dozing right beside me

Where you don’t sleep at my side

I realize I want all your nights

For the rest of our lives

Her warnings and waning sense of confidence.

She pulls at her clothes

Her eyes shying away from the mirror

As her head reflects over every piece of her body again and again.

She’s still not sure what you see in me

Because she’s too busy overanalyzing everything she can’t be

and twisting every future into tragedy at her fingertips.

She’s sees the similarities between the “other” and me

And she hyper fixates on all the deepest insecurities.

Like how my bones still call out to the eyes from their place on my small frame,

The breasts that have no “bounce” to their name,

And the demons begin to call out my name again.

Ignoring the soft whisper from the deepest of my demons calling for bloodshed

As I shelter between the sheets of my bed

Begging for reprieve from the thoughts inside my head.

I’m trying to be the bigger person,

In all your beautiful intricacies

And all your deepest hues

All I had lost again

On this road to you.

My dear, I don’t resent you

For falling so fatally for him.

For he is divine wine upon my lips

The sweetest and sickest thrill at my fingertips

The words so intoxicating from his mouth they drip.

I understand why you ran yourself through

On your own sword

But you must understand

He never wished to leave you feeling scorned.

He was clear in his intentions

All of this time,

And I’m sorry you are seeing the fantasies

Of you and him entwined begin to unwind,

But I also must be clear

That he is indeed mine.

Should you decide to speak from poisoned lips

Or draw forth a malice for him at your whims

Than you could ever dream.

Should your friendship sour

Over my presence in his life,

I will excise you like a cancer

For causing for him such strife.

You may belief that what you feel is love

Savoring the scent

Of your cologne

I am initiating

It is my hands roaming,

Pleading for pleasing

Fuck the deadlines, dinner times, and bedtimes

To quell the emotions
