“The point is,” Fawn rattled off, if she was even being listened to at this point was irrelevant, “dachshunds and chihuahuas are more likely to be aggressive than pit bulls, and pitties aren’t even considered to be a large breed. Despite what you may have heard, they have the smallest bite force when compared to other ‘bully’ breeds, and 81% of dog bites don’t cause injury. You’re more likely to have temperament problems with a beagle or a border collie. Yet they take the number one spot for dogs brought to the shelter, and 75% of shelters euthinize them without even giving them the chance to be adopted.” 

He listened with an easy smile placed on his lips, as a fully grown old english sheepdog walked in circles around his legs. At the end of her passionate speech, he crouched down and placed a hand on top of Max’s head. “75?” He asked, glancing up at Fawn. “I think they should get rid of euthanasia on dogs all together. Even if it’s a Chihuahua or whatever, I don’t think dogs are born violent, we make them violent. Least we could do is give them a home.”

Elsa struggled to keep up with things early in the morning. She didn’t want to be someone who drank coffee every day to survive, but on days without coffee like this one, she seemed to be completely out of it and unable to function. Breaking herself from her daze, she turned to the other, “I’m sorry, did you say something?”

“I could’ve just given you the key to life and you would’ve completely missed it.” Eric pointed out with a fairly fake disappointed look for a second, before cracking up a smile at his friend. “What were you daydreaming about?”

“ i genuinely think culture club was one of the most underrated bands of the eighties. though there are loads of underrated eighties bands, but boy george is a personal favourite ! ”

“Huh... I don’t know. Maybe the band? but they did make a movie about him and then there’s also The Voice, that sort of put him on the map again. It was a good year.” 

he was so much more handsome than ariel remembered — tall, with some of the most beautiful eyes she’d ever seen. she was certain the picture she’d painted to her memory over summer nothing in actual comparison to seeing him here and now ( thankfully, alive and breathing ). it was the closest she’d ever been to the sailor since the night of his birthday and with nowhere to hide, the young redhead did her best to look anywhere else but at the figure who’d just sauntered up to the front desk. but she’d always been the curious type and she couldn’t help but wonder what it was he was doing here. a mere beat passed and before she could stop herself, nimble fingers were parting at the red wisps of hair that had fallen like a curtain over her eyes, temporarily shielding her from the male. or so she’d thought, cheeks flushed with the sudden realization that he was…looking right back ? 

With a little squint of his eyes, he noticed as the redhead turned his way– and correct him if he was wrong, but was she... peering over at him? Eric returned the glance with half a smile, his head not quite wrapped around the situation. Tempted to take a step forward and introduce himself, a part of him stopped him before he could take the step. With a glance back at the chart and the clock announcing the time for their shift to start, he slowly made his way towards the hallway leading to the assigned area instead. 

He didn’t even fight the laugh that appeared this time around. “Ay, so very true!” Miguel chuckled. Even so, the aspiring musician had to wink at the older male. “Don’t worry, you still have a way of encantador la señoras.” He reassured. “I’ll stop though….for now.”

With a shake of his head and a chuckle, Eric took a sip from his drink and raised it towards the other. “Please, continue.” He spoke with a grin. “I was just messing with you, you sound a whole lot better.”

“Is the world ever really ready for any trend or fad to come or go? Not really. I don’t remember many people batting a false eyelash when the VCR slowly went extinct.” Ken pointed out with another roll of the eyes. “That might be true, Grandpa, but I find that people find new ways of discovering new music and artists through other means. But, I find your connection to technology of old to be super endearing and adorable, so I’ll drop it. For now.”

"Why, thank you.” Eric replied with a nod and a chuckle. “I’ll enjoy the radio while you let me, then.” The man closed his eyes fro a second with a smug expression on his face. The song coursing through his body, relaxing his muscles and matching his heartbeat to the rythm (in a way of speaking, at least). “I think VCR’s are cool, by the way. I have a whole collection of them in my library.”

“Exist,” Shock said with a roll of her eyes. She didn’t like him. And it was purely based on the fact that he was too….chill. Shock had zero chill so he didn’t make sense to her therefore annoyed her. “I don’t know what was worse; the song or your singing.”

"Oh my singing, definitely.” He agreed with a nod and yet another smile. His head too far into the song and his state of mind to notice the other’s growing annoyance. 

“Not if you’re going to sound like a dying cat if you do,” she teased back, unable to hold in her own laughter. “Now, maybe if you take a few classes from my sister… Then I’d reconsider.” 

“A dying cat?” His brows rose as he pretended to be hurt by her words. All in all, he knew all too well her description was an accurate one. There was a reason, after all, for him to have chosen the flute as an instrument and not a guitar. “Now you’ll never get the honor of an actual serenade from me. Your loss.”

“I met Kit practically in diapers and it’s been a pleasure to watch him grow into the charming and handsome young man he’s become. Seriously though, he’s probably on of the worst and best things I’ve had in my life– worst because of the damage to my liver and some not-so-great grades in my report cards throughout the years. All in all, he’s family. One of those people you just know they’re in your life for the long run.”

“Ken is... one of a kind. We’ve been through some good, we’ve been through some bad... we’ve been through some pretty bad, but it’s usually a blast to have him around. Great person and friend.” @lifeinplasticken

Kida chuckled, clapping to the beat of the rhythm that played over the radio. Her shoulders moved up and down while her head wildly bopped side to side, blonde strands tossed haphazardly as she did. Kida then began to sing the chorus of the song with abandoned care.

His hands yearned for his silver flute. Sitting right behind him, awaiting to play along to the song as Kida sang her heart out throughout the chorus. In situations like these, he wished he could have an extra set of hands to do both the driving and the playing. Instead, he settled for doing some pretty awful harmonies and tapping his hands against the steering wheel.
