That morning is still fresh in my memory like it just happened. I still get scared when I see an ambulance, even if you're right next to me. I still remember how you looked when I saw you in the hospital bed, unconscious with your head half shaved and a tube down your throat. I still remember how limp and cold your hand was, and for once in my life I had no words. I thought of how life would be without you and to this day my eyes still sting and my stomach still knots when I remember that my worst nightmare was almost my reality. Before then I always thought bears or cannibals were the scariest things on Earth, then I almost watched my mother die, and I realized what true horror was. I love you to the moon and back Ma 💕🌙
