Surface design brief- 2nd year Ceramics LSAD.
My original source of inspiration was from the year my grandmother was married (1960). For these designs I am looking at her affinity with flowers, particularly the three flowers of her wedding bouquet (lily of the valley, carnations and ferns).
I’m also looking at representing her personality through words, color and old photographs. This is a starting point, these strips of 2D imagery are the dimensions of a small mug when printed and stapled together the make a handy maquette to see if the design is strong enough to bring through to the making stage (3D).Â
