20 years.

I find it so beautiful that this little rat's life has been remembered with love for 20 years and will be hopefully for decades to come. Truly a marvel of the internet.

So, if you haven't heard, CEC has introduced a new type of store, basically stripping a CEC of its arcades, replacing it with claw machines only to supercharge the child gambling, and added some bigger play zones.

On top of this, the building is a SLURRY of ai slop on every wall and marketing material. On top of this they are showing fully ai generated ads for the place.

With a fandom that's only here for the creativity and imagination the past of the company brought, of course this brought the wrath you'd expect. Especially once it was found out that employees were posting 5 star reviews before it had even opened.

Immediately the Google Maps page starts being flooded today with bad reviews. By the evening we're down to 1.3 stars. There's a few other 5 stars in there that maybe were fake, but we weren't unsure. Someone claimed however they heard employees mentioning they were gonna review-bomb back to boost the stars.

In the meantime however, a corporate employee on Tiktok who had posted some Adventure World footage sees the criticism in the comments, and makes the most stupid response you can ever imagine. CEC has not currently commented on the use of AI, and after 2 hours of these comments being up he deletes them.

But sure enough, by 7pm tonight we start seeing those reverse review bombs come in. Literally a single minute a part each. It does start slowing down, but we go from 30 reviews to 50 in half an hour.

Even worse, we have now confirmed that 5 of those names are people working at CEC corporate! This is deliberate.

EDIT: And right after this it seems Google is checking and shadowbanning reviews (you wont see if yours is deleted). Mine was thorough and yet it got removed. The rating has gone from 2.2 stars to 2.3. If you leave a review expect it to be mass reported i guess!

Adventure World's Grand Opening is slated for the 12th, and I'm sure they're trying to save face and get those ratings up beforehand. If you wanna continue reading on this saga as it goes on our thread is here:

This is Ed and Oucho:

Ed Petrie is a comedian/presenter, and Oucho is a Cactus. No, don’t go saying he is a puppet. He is an actual talking pot plant. It is blasphemy to say otherwise.

Ed and Oucho did get their own show eventually, but the golden years were when they were just the presenters between shows. You’d keep watching for the whole afternoon, every day of the week, because there’d be a continuous story going on with them, just in 2-5 minute segments between (totally awesome) shows like Grange Hill or Horrible Histories or Shaun the Sheep.

Like that time Oucho got sick, looked his symptoms up online, and decided he must be pregnant. And that Ed must be the father and should therefore get a proper job to support his family:

And then Oucho made the baby a Pinky and Perky (They’re cartoon pigs) themed mobile out of sausages and bacon:

And then they named the baby by playing countdown:

Or the time Oucho did a degree in men, and the university sent him a traffic cone so he wouldn’t have to steal one later:

Or the time Oucho dressed up as Dolly Parton and got engaged to a Gangster he’d fallen in love with:

And Oucho was obsessed with bananas (or nananadi, in the cacti toungue):

And Ed had a smarmy, self-obsessed TV rival called Ted Metrie who insulted the veiwers and hated children, even the countless children that would turn up every day claiming he was their father:

And every wednesday, Ed and Oucho would have The Big Debate, in which they’d debate which was better out of two random, unrelated things:
