So— the tail end of their stories where never published so the show runners came up with the rest of it themselves. None of it was how any of it actually went down. But they did get one but right, Castiel was in love with Dean. It wasn’t just subtext huh. Anyway In the show, Dean openly rejects Castiel (a bit to cruel it seems because Dean could see his Cas getting visibility uncomfortable at the scene itself). They handle it so horribly to.

They show (movie) Dean getting uncomfortable at Castiel’s touches and looks, have him make really weird comments/jokes that belittle Castiel’s feelings and even add a constant bit where Dean flirts with women in front of Cas, the camera pans to Cas being uncomfortable and making him the butt of the joke.

Not with your eyes. With theirs.
