I understand why everyone is pro-transfem jax, and i'm not anti-transfem jax, but in my brain he will always be transmasc. and that's part of the horror of going back to the "macroverse"- the real world- he'd be going back to a body and voice that DON'T fit him. despite the fact that he HATES the circus, at least he can be an asshole teenage boy in peace- and this ADDS to the horror of being forced into things like the maid dress and the golden suit, being feminized. Plus, caine says that he has a program that perfectly encapsulates the user's mind files to give them the perfect body (and if we are taking his word for it). so what if that's part of the reason jax starts the series out being kind of okay with being in the circus? He can be a guy, and just have that be uncomplicated. plus, this theme makes sense with his "worst fear" in the whole lets-torture-the-cast montage at the end of episode eaight- being stripped down and seen for "who you really are" and having others laugh at you for dressing up as someone you're not- that's dysphoria for you baby! and I see why pepole headcannon jax as transfem, because all of these peices of evidence can be taken the other way, too (being feminized when she isn't out yet, going back to an entirely too male body that feels more "real" and triggering, and even being stripped down to her real self, being exposed for who she realy is, ext. ext.) I'm just saying that I like transmasc jax because I like to project onto him basicly and I think either way you take it trans jax is real and true thank you and goodnight

it's funny to me that while toy story 5 is going on and bonnie is having trouble making friends, andy is probably like two states away and going through hell on earth on indeed.com

Lestat: I am an unreliable narrator. I love to lie.
Half the audience for some reason: I can’t believe how reliable this narrator is. He would never lie to us.
# a lot of viewers have made the mistake of treating lestat's voiceover like an inner monologue. like we've been granted access#to his unfiltered thoughts. ...instead of questioning the context in which we're hearing it#which is: this is an audio diary recorded by lestat at an unspecified later date and sold at auction to a wealthy buyer#who purchased his life story for a sum of money that a limited & privileged number of people have access to.#that framing device alone should challenge you to scrutinize this tale as closely as louis' account in dubai (if not even more closely!)#especially when the first thing he says on the recording is to the winner of the auction. HE RECORDED THIS TO BE RELEASED AND SOLD.#(the tapes are an admitted performance) what is his agenda and why is he telling This person This story in This way (we're doing a rewrite)#(the other lot at auction was burned. only this account remains)#when was this recorded? why? who (if anyone) was present? did anyone challenge his memory of events like daniel did with louis?#(he openly admits to taking liberties with the danlou scene because He Was Not There and can't truthfully say what occurred)#(and we can't trust that a verbal note to edit something out that remained in the final version means his entire story is unedited)#i think the presence of daniel in lestat's tale and existence of the documentary also plays into this#the audience instinct is to trust daniel to keep the story on track and tell us what he finds to be true#but this is not daniel in the flesh like he was in dubai. this is a reconstruction by lestat himself giving the illusion of an unbiased POV#daniel is not the one telling us this story and all documentary footage is edited into a narrative by someone with a point of view#until we know why This point of view exists or what tale lestat is telling his listener (& who the listener is) we Should question it#and assume everything we see has been filtered by time and/or bias and is being shown to us by a man who is a master of lying by omission#for a purpose we still don't know or understand (via nothinglikeweplanned)

Interview with the Vampire
god i'm so glad louis killing bruce was as fucked up and empty and hollow as it was. i've been thinking about this moment for years now and like you can't bring her back. you can't go back in time and choose her over lestat and you wouldn't anyway because she was right and it's always been about him. you can't be there for her when it counted. lestat can't be there for her when it counted even though he understood her pain in the most direct sense. no matter how much bruce deserved to die killing him does absolutely nothing for claudia now and was never really going to be anything more than a consolatory gesture for the benefit of the people who weren't there for her when it counted. she was right. it's never been about her.

the difference between interviewing louis and lestat is that louis has spent the past decades ruminating in depressed silence and it’s going to be very hard to say something he hasn’t already thought to himself. daniel can say “have you thought about how your kid’s death was your fault” and louis will be like “extensively.” meanwhile lestat has been living in such avoidance loops that you ask him if he’d stuttered as a child he won’t answer because he needs to have a party drug orgy about it
