I think that Logan was looking at going to medical school before the ODIN strikes happened. He originally wanted to be a healer, not a killer. He wanted to help people live their lives to the fullest.

And looking at Logan’s potential future in this way is what makes the cod ghosts campaign even more tragic. He never wanted to hurt people, never initially set out to do that, but he did. And it turned out that he was good at it.

trying to be simpler with my painting style

The Walker house got really fucking quiet after Hesh enlisted when he turned eighteen. It was great for him, sure, that he knew what he was doing with his life, but Logan, sixteen at the time, couldn’t help but wander the quiet halls of his house after his brother left, feeling an immeasurable sadness within him that he couldn’t really do anything about.

Because Elias was usually gone all the time, Logan and Hesh used to have the house all to themselves (and their mother, when she was still alive). For as long as he could remember, it had just been the two of them.

But now Hesh had moved out, and it didn’t help that Logan had been the more quiet of the two of them, so now the house was super eerie. It seemed abandoned despite the fact that there were still two inhabitants- it was just that the loudest, most lively one of them was gone now.

Logan just missed his brother. It was like he was missing a piece of him.

Hesh definitely allowed Logan to hang out with him and his friends as kids, not because Elias or Mrs Walker told him to, just because he wanted to.

Going to the park? Logan is coming, game night? Logan is playing as well. Some party that Logan definitely shouldn’t be at? He’s there, being watched over by Hesh obviously, but he’s there having a good time.

Which totally led to one of hesh’s friend telling him that Logan needs to stop tagging along because “it’s lame that Hesh has to babysit his brother” In which in turn Hesh told them to find another friend group because where Hesh goes Logan goes too.

I like to think that Elias was genuinely retired from the Ghosts business up until Grim+Torch went missing. Or as retired as he could be in wartime…. Like he was handling things on the backend, supply and training, etc. not in the field like he was in his glory days.

Then one day Merrick shows up, probably just aura farming until Elias notices him. Of course Elias is cheesed to see him and ignores a more professional handshake to lock him into a bear hug, which Merrick doesn’t fight but also pretends not to enjoy. Then to business. “Sir, something serious happened. Grim and Torch went missing, a few days ago. The second their bodies turned up, Ajax went MIA.” “Where’s Keegan?” “Accounted for. And very angry.” At which point Elias picks up the mantle again.

He was still training Logan and Hesh for the Ghosts, don’t get him wrong, it’s just that he expected them to join under Merrick. Not him. He’d be leaving things in good hands adding two incredibly capable members to their number to strengthen the team since he’d be gone. He was happy with that vision of his future.
