He operated on Derek Shepherd with a gun pointed at him and never got the credit or the leeway Cristina Yang did.

He lost his friends in shooting, his mentor and ex-girlfriend in a plane crash.  And a son minutes after birth and is still functioning.

He’s a plastic surgeon, not because of the money, but because it gives people confidence.  He also works on burn victims and transpeople.  

He refused to cash in on his legacy, and often backed out of great opportunities so other people could succeed.
