I blame most of the issues in the digital circus fandom on the fact that it’s a series intended for a specific demographic of grown adults and maybe older teenagers, but instead has a fan base consisting mostly of young children thanks to the show getting launched into the mainstream, being used for brainrot targeted towards little kids, being falsely advertised in places like Netflix or Target (getting labeled as pg and thus put on the “for kids” accounts and tadc merch being found in kids toy areas in stores), and the idea that any colorful animated comedy that doesn’t feature drugs, gore, suicide, bdsm tropes, or intense language is a cartoon made for babies
