{I made this almost a yewe or two ago when I was HUGE into ranger's apprentice. also I ligit didn't know I had any writing skills😭 I just read this for the first time in a year and I was like "bro what magic was I using??"}

//Prologue// Coby, being ten at the time some how knew what he wanted to to when he grew up. It was a dark cloudy night when disaster struck. The wind howled louder than usual. and then there was an ear splitting CRACK! Coby's father, Jordan quickly opened Coby's door yelling " come quick its a tornado!" Coby launched himself out of his bed and ran after his father. "What's a tornado?" Coby Yelled at the top of his lungs. "Ill tell you later!" his father answered back. HOWL the wind seemed yell. Then he heard another type of howl. a girl screaming. Coby changed directions running towards the scared kid. " hello?" asked Coby. "Is anyone there?". "I'm over here." answered a quiet voice. Coby rushed over to see a girl, looking to be about his age hiding under a pile of wreckage. as an after thought he jumped into the small space. WOOSH! A piece of timber flew by where he was just standing! then everything went black. wait… Coby was still awake. there was just something blocking the entrance. "Are you ok?" asked Coby. "Yeah I think so." answered the girl. Coby noticed that is was getting hard to breathe. he clawed at the rubbish that covered them. Slowly slowly slowly he broke though. he made a hole big enough for him and the girl to fit through. "looks like I'm going to have to carry you." Coby said when he looked at the girl who was now passed out. he gently lifted her up and stepped out of the rubbish. WOOSH! BANG! CRASH! HOWL! everything was so loud and things were flying everywhere. " Where to go where to go." said Coby. "The cellar!" Coby shouted. he didn't know why he was yelling no-one was there anyways. Step by step he slowly walked towards the cellar. flying objects hit him in the head arms and legs. his adrenaline rush was just enough to keep him conscious. there! that's the cellar door! Coby walked with a new energy knowing his dad and who knows who else made it in there would open the cellar door for them to get in. he could already imagine a warm bed and a cup of water. water. water sounded so good right now. Coby's throat was so dry. Coby finally made it to the cellar. BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Coby pounded on the door trying to have them open it. nothing… BANG! BANG! still nothing… BANG! BANG! nothing. it was no use he wasn't going to be let in. they was going to die out here. TAP. TAP. TAP. Coby turned to see a young man around 19 years of age. "Come with me!" he managed to yell over the noise. the man picked up the girl and started to walk away. Coby had to keep up with him! they finally made it to a small wall. the three of them sheltered by it. before he knew it Coby had gone unconscious. when he woke up it was early morning. "Finally. your awake." said a strange voice he didn't recognize. "Who are you? asked Coby. " I'm Levi Mitchell, scout troops member. " the man said. " I'm Coby Lander. what's a scout? " Coby asked. "A scout is a trained tracker and spy. we train with a sword and a sling. we also work in groups of two. I can't tell people much else because most of the stuff we do is top secret and for the Queen." said Levi. " On another note, why were you and meadow out in that storm?" asked Levi. Meadow was the girl he had found. In the end Coby told Levi the whole story, While thinking about the scout troops. "How old do you have to be to start training as a scout?" asked Coby. "13, and ill wait for you." Levi smiled as he was talking. he seemed to know what Coby was thinking. Coby wanted to be a scout.
