When my absence doesn’t alter your life, then my presence has no meaning in it.

No amount of time will ever make me feel better about you being with someone else. I don’t care that you live thousands of miles away or that we live completely different lives now. Instead, I will hold on to the whispered thoughts and moments we shared with each other and the memories that we promised to hold forever.

When something bothered me, I didn’t talk with anyone about it. I thought it over all by myself, came to a conclusion, and took action alone. Not that I really felt lonely. I thought that’s just the way things are. Human beings, in the final analysis, have to survive on their own.

You never, ever, ever, get over some things. And time doesn’t heal them. You just learn to manage them. But they’re always there.

It always takes two. For relationships to work, for them to break apart, for them to be fixed.

I long to swim in your ocean. Please don’t drown me.
