is this anything
with love. you have to fact check shit. yes you. you still have to fact check shit. a lot of people are great at fact checking stuff they don’t want to be true, but somehow are still absolute ass at fact checking stuff that’s rhetorically convenient to them. even people my age, who I KNOW grew up doing internet/bibliography literacy workshops, and being warned not to believe anything that isn’t reliably sourced, people who DO harp on fact checking conservative output or whatever, are still kneejerk sharing unsourced shit that is partially or wholly untrue or misleading, because it suits whatever narrative they’re pursuing in that moment, without even a “take this with a grain of salt”. fact check!!!!!! look at the sources!!!!! yes it’s a drag!!! do it!!!!!
a reminder that "you should probably fact check that" is not an attack on your beliefs. if it's true then you have nothing to lose from fact checking it. and if it's false? you have everything to gain from fact checking it
They don't deserve you, Yoosung

Oop, Nick’s done it again.
The NYCC exclusive Danny Phantom pins referenced/traced @umbrihearts art!
Oh fucking hell.
Quick update: I did message them. We'll see how this plays out. I'm hoping to settle this civilly.
Still waiting on a response from Nickelodeon. -_-
So with NYCC less than two weeks away, I've decided to make a public post about it. I really really REALLY didn't want to do this. But this is unfortunately the fastest way to get their attention so that the pins can be pulled before the convention.
saw your Time sketch and damn never noticed how fine he was
Glad that my silly lil sketch became an eye opener for you. Welcome to the club
Low-key fear about this lady considering this face preceded this:
How strong is she? How strong will she be when she's fixed?
How strong are the people around her that she needs knights?
Okay so one thing I love about Knights of Guinevere is the lack of cynicism about Guinevere herself. Despite the fact that she's an android and not human, despite the fact that she seems stuck in a pre-programmed fantasy world, despite the fact that she is the face of a marketing empire, Guinevere herself is not evil.
She's everything we were told as kids that princesses are meant to be. Friendly, graceful, wanting to be there for and protect children. She is a princess in need of rescue who tries over and over again to rescue herself while waiting for her knights. She is just as abused under the corrupt system in place, if not more so. Yet she still fights to protect the people who are trying to save her when she is broken. The surveillance system used by the corporation over it's citizens is something she uses to fondly remember the children she befriends.
I just love that despite how scathingly and rightfully this show criticizes Disney as a company, it never points the finger at the audience for loving princesses and wanting to indulge in fantasy, and the creativity that brought these fantasies to life were done so out of genuine love.
And anyways, that's why I'm crying over an animatronic park princess from cyberpunk horror cartoon on a Saturday morning, have a good weekend everyone.

Memories can't save you
Excuse me while I overanalyse the visual storytelling in this scene because it makes Olivia’s character even more heartbreaking.
What I didn’t pick on on my first watch was the balloons. Balloons are associated with joy and celebration. With birthdays. Park Planet was a birthday present for Olivia. Olivia isn’t a little girl anymore, she’s a frail, bedridden old woman, but she’s surrounded by remnants of her childhood.
The bedroom floor is dirty. Pills are scattered over the floor. Cracked bowls spilling sugary, colourful cereal over the floor. Children’s cereal. Is cereal her comfort food? Considering her condition, all that sugar can’t be doing any good for Olivia’s health.
Look that how the robots are positioned: knights standing guard over the princess.
“A princess locked away by complicated machines that run on blood and fear” indeed.
