(JOSH WHITEHOUSE+ CIS-MALE ) â Â Have you seen LOGAN CAINE ? This TWENTY SEVEN year old is a PARALEGAL who resides in MANHATTAN. HE has been living in NYC for HIS WHOLE LIFE and is known to be TRUSTING and CURIOUS, but can also be SHELTERED, FOOLISH and RESENTFUL if you cross them. Â People tend to associate them with TALKING TO HIMSELF and SELF DEPRICATING JOKES â ( Jess again, filling in as the Caine sibling connection)Â
tw: anxiety, @codstartersâ
The middle Caine brother!! here to learn how to live & be his own person!!
Dislikes: cheating, liars, caramel (he used to have braces and it would stick to his teeth), being kissed on the cheek by his aunts, camping, fighting,Â
Logan Caine was born in the middle, and that perfectly described who he was. He wasnât as charismatic as Sam, and he wasnât as likable as Abigail, he was always kind of just... there. Being weird in the background
So much of his life was spent trying to appease his parents. He took AP classes to get into a good school, he studied to be a lawyer because thatâs what his father wanted, and he kept his head down because thatâs what the Caine family did - they didnât ruffle feathers.
He didnât mind being in the background for most of the time, or being the âgoodâ son compared to Sam. The boy lived off his parents validation and approval, without ever considering what it was that he actually wanted. As Sam kept rebelling, and his parents kept forgiving him, Logan got increasingly frustrated over the attention Sam still received. Here he was, doing exactly what they asked. He should be the golden child, yet he never received any of the praise he wanted.
With this frustration building inside of him, Logan kept studying and kept trying to be the perfect son. He barely drank, never broke any rules, never partied with the other college students, most of his life was  hidden in a library where he would spend hours consuming as much knowledge as possible. This of course gave him terrible social skills and made him incredibly repressed. He could rant to you about X-Files, art house films, and the law, but being easy-going? Being chill? nope.
Despite Loganâs extensive study, and graduating law school, he has still yet to pass his bar exam. Each time he tries to complete it he is met with paralyzing fear. It seemed that no matter how hard he tried, how much he studied, the anxiety got the better of him. Not wanting his son to be left without a job, Loganâs father contacted their family friend, Antonio Saravia, who has taken Logan on as a paralegal.
When the news about his fatherâs other child, Rosalie Roberts, broke and Logan finally gave up trying. What was the point to pleasing a man who also made mistakes? Why was he constantly battling for his familyâs attention when nothing was even real anymore? Was it all smoke and mirrors? Logan began questioning the whole life heâd built up for himself, whether he liked things because he liked them or because his parents liked them. He became disillusioned about everything.
Finally starting to understand how Sam felt when he rebelled all those years ago, Logan is trying to live life on his own terms, for the first time in twenty seven years. Â He wants to make up for as much lost time as possible, to try as many things as possible. Â Does he want to be a lawyer? Who knows. Does he know how to take care of himself? Nope. Is he incredibly afraid of whatâs to come? Definitely.
CONNTECTIONS: people who can show him how to âliveâ, roommates, best friends, friends from high school, childhood friends, new friends, , wingman, x-files fans, friends of his brothers (sam & arthur), his first ever one night stand, exes, unrequited crushes (rip him), crushes, former competition in uni/high school, people he used to compare himself to,Â

Sutton: I think we can
Sutton: I have not. I haven't decided if I will yet...
Logan: you're right, who am I kidding? I love our jungle
Logan: :-( they will? what happens if they don't get adopted? don't do this to me Sutton

âYou take it everywhere, donât you?â she asked, smiling. Arden loved to hear about his list, and, in all honesty, sheâd listen to Logan talk about anything for hours if thatâs what he wanted. âI spent the entire morning trying to find an excuse to see you again. Gatorade and snacks seemed like the easiest thing. I think thatâs when I realized I really liked you.â She remembered how her heart nearly beat out of her chest when he had opened the door and how having so many feelings was scaring her. His hand squeezed her knee. âOh, yeah?â she said, taking a sip from her drink. âWell, good news for you is that Iâm a doctor.â Her eyes met his and she placed her hand over the one resting on her knee. âI know tomorrow is officially Valentineâs Day, and, if you want, we can stay in bed and watch movies or keep binging the X-Files,â she suggesting, knowing it was his favorite show. âIâll even make breakfast, too. I have a killer recipe for french toast.â
...
âI do, I think Iâm rather attached to it now,â Logan nodded, cheeks flushed, pulling out his wallet from his back pocket. From inside the wallet, he tugged out a folded piece of paper, covered in numbers and items all over, the list that started it all, âIâve done more from this than I ever thought I would. Feel like I shouldâve put, âmeet a really cute girl and somehow get her to date meâ on the list too.â He joked, nudging her a little. âI genuinely thought you were just being nice, but then, well, you stayed. And fell asleep on me. It was confusing.â With all the people around them, Logan only had eyes for her, this girl with her kind heart and pretty face. At her words, his grinned widened, âlike Scully. My medical doctor,â pressing a kiss to her cheek, all Logan wanted was to take her home, so they could be alone properly, âIâd love that. You make French toast, Iâll get us some coffee⌠though Iâm not sure staying in bed all day will as as fun as it is when weâre faking sick.â
waking up late had not been on kitâs agenda for the day, but due to her having one too many glasses of wine the previous night, she had forgotten to set an alarm for the following morning. mistakes were made and with half the afternoon already gone, she figured it would be best to take her plans for the day and make them tomorrowâs.Â
after a quick lunch and a goodbye to her dog, kit headed out the door of her apartment and to the nearest coffee shop. while she had slept in, coffee was still a must. after ordering and waiting for the barista to make her drink, she took a seat in the corner and retrieved her laptop from her bag. a few minutes in and she was typing away, unaware that someone had joined her at the table. reaching for her latte, she looked up from the screen and was startled to see the other person. âyou know, i wasnât exactly looking for company.â kit commented, the coffee cup making its way up to her lips. âfor all you know, i was saving that seat for someone elseâŚbut i guess you can stay, if you want.â
Years had past and Logan still recognised Kit anywhere. It was as the barista was handing him his coffee that he saw her, sitting behind her laptop, typing away with the same focused expression she had on her face when they were in college. Without thinking Logan stepped towards, her, taking the seat across from his ex-girlfriend and offering her a complicated smile. âAh Kit, still the same welcoming attitude as always,â maybe he wouldâve sounded more confident if the words hadnât rushed out of him. Shoot. âItâs me, Logan? your ex-boyfriend? You probably donât remember me since uh⌠Iâve changed a lot recently.â He spoke smugly, despite the fact he looked exactly the same â right down to the same briefcase heâd been using since university.
Thomas glanced over his shoulder, not realising anyone had been listening in to his little vocal presentation, and his face grew red. âAlright Iâll take the high notes,â he said quickly, feeling more than a little embarrassed. His embarrassment faded though as Logan demonstrated his low range, and he grinned. âThat was good, dude,â he said enthusiastically, giving his friend a pat on the shoulder. He listened with intense concentration as Logan outlined some basic moves for the choreography, and he nodded along, impressed with his ideas. Clearly neither of them knew a thing about dancing. âThat sounds awesome,â he replied, mouth hanging open in a mixture of awe and excitement. âI guess for the rest, we can just improvise. I mean, it canât be that bad, right?â he said, giving a small shrug. He liked to think he was a half decent dancer, but deep down he knew he just looked like a baby giraffe taking its first steps, but a hell of a lot less graceful than even that.Â
The people that were on stage finished up, and he took a deep breath. âAlright. Letâs do this thing,â he said with determination, placing a hand on Loganâs shoulder and steering him towards and on to the stage. He quickly whispered to the guy running the karaoke what song they were doing, and then, it was go time.
Thomas and Logan were the dream team, and it wasnât just because their voices complemented each other. They were two kinda weird, kinda geeky guys onboard for trying new stuff, and it worked. Logan grinned as his friend complimented his singing and dancing, proud receive praise from such a talented musician. âOh, for sure, improvisation all the way⌠maybe some mime? Physical comedy?" As the people before them finished with a bow, the nerves rose up inside Logan. There was that voice in his head, who usually sounded like the old-Logan, telling him to run away, but he refused to listen. âLets do this,â he breathed out, letting Thomas guide him toward the stage, nerves building up as they stepped on. Grabbing both microphones, Logan handed one to Thomas, and gripped the other tightly in his hands. The familiar beat of the song started ringing in, and Logan nodded at his friend with a nervous smile. He started singing, miming along with the words as he did so, putting all his nervous enthusiasm into the song.

âYeah! Weâre pretty excited. Iâm just happy to be doing something as a family with her. Sheâll have a pet at dadâs house,â Sam went on, a truly genuine happy smile put on. âAh, right. Weâll do whatever Sutton advises. Canât give her more reasons to dislike me,â he teased, though after their earlier encounter he had a feeling she would ease up on him. Or so he hoped. Listening to Logan, Sam just nodded, followed by an offended look. âMe? Tell them? Why would I do that?â he questioned, though it was definitely something he would do. âOkay so maybe things have slipped in the past, but Iâm not really speaking to them more than whatâs necessary so donât worry,â he added on, making sure he was put at ease. âThatâs amazing. You deserve it,â he responded to the news, patting his brotherâs shoulder.
...
âIâm really happy for you Sammy,â surprisingly, he meant it. Logan was tired of being mad at his brother, for holding onto a grudge of 27 yearsâ worth of pain. It was stupid. âYeah, sorry about that⌠sheâs just a really good listener, I didnât mean to make her hate you.â Multiple times his housemate had come home and listened to him rant about his big brother, it was bound to rub off on her. She was a good friend. âYouâre not speaking to them either?â Logan asked in surprise, Sam had been the more likely of the two to listen to their parents lately. Logan was still fuelled by resentment toward them, âthanks Sam⌠you should meet her some time. Youâd like her... just, try not to like her too much.â A pause as Logan looked at his hands, failing to fight what heâd been holding onto for months. âLook, Iâm sorry shoving you in the Christmas tree maze.â
Thomas hadnât really thought about the fact that he hadnât done half of the things Logan had on his list either. Maybe he was right, and everyone else was doing the same as he had been. Hiding from the world, or sticking to the norm to save face. Or maybe he too had just had too much to drink and was looking for a deeper meaning. He laughed at Loganâs enthusiasm, and he nodded along, glancing at the two girls currently on the stage and singing some obscure hip hop song that he didnât know. âWeâll blow these two out of the water,â he said with confidence, grinning lazily at his friend. âBut first, we gotta figure out our harmonies. Whoâs going high, and whoâs going low?â He took it upon himself to then demonstrate his range to Logan, first with a low note, then going as high as he possibly could. He saw the person stood next to them giving him a look of pure disappointment, which just sent him into hysterics. Once heâd managed to recover, his expression turned serious again. âChoreography. We havenât even had a chance to think about choreography,â he said quickly, throwing his hands up in exasperation.
...
Logan listened intently to his friendâs singing, taking the role of designating who would sing what extremely seriously. Both Thomasâ high and low notes sounded better than anything Logan could pull off, but the way he hit the high one left Logan staring at his friend in awe. âBy the looks on those girls faces, you should take the high,â Logan grinned, shooting the girls a smug look before clapping his hands together, âIâve got your back with the looow,â he dropped his voice as deep as he could, not sounding too bad. On singing and team work alone, they might do amazingly but choreo⌠that could be their downfall. âAlright, alright, alright, maybe I go left you go right?â He shifted his upper body to the left, âand then switch,â he shifted to the right, âand maybe a telephone,â he held his hand up to his ear, miming being on the phone, âfor the âcall me maybeâ part?â
Arden had never been in love, but she had a feeling it felt something like this. Sheâd never felt like this before. Something as simple as a kiss to her cheek had her heart practically beating out of her chest. âOkay, we got to write that down to kep better track of that,â she laughed. âHalloween is still the best.â Arden still thought about Halloween all the time. It was when she truly realized what Logan meant to her, and that she wanted him around for as long as possible. He pushed a strand of hair away from her face. âYou donât give yourself enough credit, you know,â she said, after taking a sip. âThink we can get a few to go when we go home?â Arden leaned her head against his shoulder. âThis is the first Valentineâs Day Iâve spent with someone, and Iâm so glad itâs with you.â
...
âIâve gotten so used to carrying the list around that I can probably carry another, too,â the crumpled piece of paper had become somewhat of a talisman for him. It represented hope and possibility, and a bunch of other cheesy things that if you got him drunk enough, he could ramble on about. âHalloween will always be the best,â he agreed, knowing they were both thinking of the same night, âI remember the next morning, waking up and you being outside my door, I thought I was dreaming.â It was odd how sometimes you meet someone and you donât realise how special theyâll be to you. His hand found her knee, squeezing it and resting there contently as he watched the other couples around them, âI couldnât possibly know what you mean,â he joked, knowing just how low his self esteem could get, âI think I still think itâs a dream. Like one day Iâll wake up and thereâll be doctors around me telling me Iâve been sleeping since that day we crashed into each other,â a pause, he met her eyes, âbut dream or not, Iâm really glad Iâm here with you too.â
Thomas cackled at the expression on Loganâs face as the girl partaking in karaoke went an octave higher. It was a look of pure agony, and it took him a minute to regain his composure and bring his laughter under control. He knew his friend would be up for singing a Carly Rae Jepsen song, and he grinned widely at his reaction. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning, and Thomas clinked their glasses together. âCarly it is.â He gave his friend a pat on the back as he thanked him for accompanying him on all of these little adventures for his bucket list. âHey, you know me, Iâm always up for doing fun stuff. Plus, half of these things Iâve never done either so itâs a win win,â he said with a warm smile. âWho cares if it goes on social media,â Thomas said with a shake of his head. âIf it goes viral then weâll be rich. Maybe Iâll even get a record deal out of this,â he said as he downed the rest of his drink. He was a little anxious about this himself but he wasnât going to show Logan that, so he got another drink to settle his nerves.Â
..
With a few drinks under his belt, and the promise to sing a song by an icon, Logan was almost ready to make a fool of himself on stage. Thomas knew exactly what he needed to shake the pre-list nerves and get pumped. âCarly it is,â he beamed at his friend, joining him in clinking his glass, âitâs interesting, so many people who join me on the list havenât done half the stuff on there either,â Lo mused, pausing to take a sip of his drink, âhere I thought I was the one hiding away from the world, but maybe everyone is too? That, or Iâm at enough cocktails to make me think everything has a bigger meaning than it actually does.â He shot his friend a happy grin, clapping him on the shoulder, âright you are! We need to kill it up there, the music gods could be watching... or future employers, but Iâm trying not to think about that.â Following Thomasâ lead, Logan downed his drink, ordered another, and gave his friend a nod, âwhat do you say? After these we go up? Carlyâs waiting for us.â

If you HAD to get one of your friend's face tattooed on your butt, who would it be?
Thomasâ hands down. Heâs done so many of the items on the list with me, Iâd have to thank him somehow... though Ardenâs best friends keep hinting I join them in theirs, and Iâm a little bit too afraid to say no.
Arden couldnât remember the last time she even had a boyfriend, and she never expected to find herself so incredibly happy having someone by her side. Logan kissed her cheek, causing her to blush. She had a stupid grin on her face, as she turned to face him. âOh, youâre the best. Remind me to never go back to that last place. We should start a ranked list of who has the best in town.â She turned from her martini back to him. Her hand resting on his thigh, and her cheeks still stained red as he complimented her. Leaning in, Arden kissed him. âWhat did I do to deserve you?â she wondered. âThank you. I promise itâs not too much.â Holding up her glass, she clinked it against his before taking a sip. Her eyes widened in surprise. âI think we might have a new number 1.â
The red band around his wrist was worn with pride as Logan stood by his girlfriend, tipsy on cocktails and love... not that heâd ever say that last one out loud. Even her smile had him giddy. âOh, Iâve been working on one, up here,â he tapped the side of his head, âlast place was, well, last. That first place, on Halloween, they were excellent...â he trailed off, remembering the start of their something, how nervous heâd been, how nervous he still was. The biggest between now and then was he could kiss her freely without fear of rejection. So, he did. Pulling away from the kiss, Logan smiled at his girlfriend, using his free fingers to brush away her hair, âI ask myself that every day. Surely you must have made some God somewhere mad, to end up stuck with me.â He clinked his glass against hers, sipping the cocktail before giving her a wide smile, âitâs brilliant. Even better than Halloweenâs.â
