2025 WDC Lando Norris

I still think about how Lando Norris executed that one stop at Hungaroring so beautifully that he basically gaslit the haters into believing that he was given the better/preferred strategy

“so when people you like lose its not funny but when people you dont like lose its absolutely funny” well YES thats the whole point of sports??

while i’m on the topic of defending lando as a driver, his wheel-to-wheel and racecraft are much much better than people give him credit for. yes he doesn’t have as many flashy overtakes as other drivers, but he’s extremely patient and careful in his overtakes, which means he’s one of the cleanest drivers on the grids and very rarely dnfs due to crashes or receives penalties. like yeah it’s not the sexiest thing in the world but there’s huge merit to being a consistent, clean driver who usually manages to find a way through when it matters (see jeddah 2025, abu dhabi 2025) without risking a dnf. he’s also an incredibly good defensive driver (silverstone 2023, austria 2025) and i just think people should open their hearts to a broader understanding of “wheel to wheel” than just overtaking
