Another year in the bag. In that time, Llelo and I have embarked (pun very much intended) on a cross-country move as I started a PhD program. I'm so very glad he's been with me every step of the way.

Do you have photos/videos of your poodles?

Having already done the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed health video, the next breed that got voted on is the popular Poodle!

I prefer to get average or typical pictures of the breed for use in these videos, rather than rely on stock footage of show dogs. So if you have footage of your (or your family’s) pets, with no kids in them that are too young to consent, and you’re willing to let me use them in a breed-health video (credited with your username), pretty please add them to this post or the Dropbox link below.

Whatever username you’ve used, or saved the files as, is how the credit will appear, and background noise will be edited out of the clips.

I also genuinely enjoy seeing people show off their pets.

Of course, no problem! I do have books on this topic.

The three books that helped me better understand dogs and how to take the best care of them were Ethics and Ethology for a Happy Dog by Anders Hallgren, Canine Enrichment for the Real World by Allie Bender and Emily Strong and Making Dogs Happy by Dr Melissa Starling & Prof Paul McGreevy.

For books with just practical ideas and how-tos, there's Happy Dog by Chelsea Barstow, What Dogs Want by Mat Ward and Enrichment Games for High Energy Dogs by Barbara Buchmayer.

There's also Wag: The Science of Making Your Dog Happy by Zazie Todd, I just haven't finished it yet.
