From their prison in the Veil, the spirits of the titans lure power-hungry Tevinter magisters into the Fade to release them. Instead of a city of gold, they find a Black City. The first Blight is released.
So the magisters were originally lured to the Black City not by the evanuris, but by the spirits of titans?

And I do think they should’ve brought Sandal back in Veilguard, because if he made the trick lyrium dagger, handed it over, and said “Enchantment!” I wouldn’t even bat an eye or consider it a deus ex machina moment. Like yeah of course he could make a perfect copy, and it would be so similar that it could trick Solas. It’s Sandal.
The plot hole would be that his copy would absolutely be capable of rending the Veil.
Bonus points if the Caretaker is like yes, that's Sandal, he just shows up here sometimes. No, I don't know what his deal is, but he seems fine.

I’ve never played his romance but is there a reason why Solas only offers to remove a romanced!Lavellan’s vallaslin? Since he only sees them as slave brands (and not a cultural rite like the Dalish), I would think he would offer that to all Lavellans, though I can understand limiting it to high approval/friend Lavellans.
My theory is that when he says "the truth..." and trails off for just a moment, he was about to reveal his true identity. But then chickens out and needs something to quickly cover himself with. So I don't think he went into that conversation actually planning on talking about the vallaslin.
It is!! There was an interview with Trick Weekes, Solas' writer, and they said that Solas brings you to Crestwood to tell you the truth about himself but chickens out, and furthermore that he's contemplating staying with you when he kisses you afterwards. But in the end pulls away because staying with you will betray himself 😭
