I wrote this in 15 minutes while on my way to the zoo so anyway enjoy

Riley and Lydia laid stretched out across her floor in the early hours of the morning. The champagne was all but gone as was the food, though there were still a few chocolates from his late night stop at the Adamart that he was carefully hand feeding her.

The mood was light and carefree, both laughing and talking about everything and yet nothing as she rested with her head against his broad chest.

"So Angel, I have to ask-" he rumbled softly as her lips delicately wrapped around offered chocolate. His pupils dilated, his tone turning more sober as he leaned his horned head down. "You're single now. I'm single…" She sucked in a breath as he dragged his rough thumb down her chin and tilted her face up towards him as her cheeks flushed pink. "So what are you doing for the rest of my life?"

Sure, the pickup line was cheesy. But he meant it in earnest as her nose wrinkled and a gentle giggle escaped her. "Oh I don't know, Mr. Mercar," she teased as the alcohol and his attentions made her head swim. "Maybe I should see if Nae has any other friends before making a decision…"

He growled low, a sound that was half-joking and half-serious as her laughter only increased in volume.

"Oh come on, Big Guy. You know I was only-"

But any other words were cut off by the press of his mouth to hers, a brief kiss that tasted of champagne and chocolate and something that was uniquely her.

He wanted to leave no doubt what she would be missing out on if she decided against being with him. And it seemed to work as she sighed wistfully when he finally pulled away.

"Well that was-" she stammered in a breathless whisper. "-nice."

Inspired by this random fic I wrote last year about their meeting, here is the first crappy lobster hand and etching of a butt, to the final product which had me screaming into the void (as after finishing Illario x Lilya for next AWWF chapter I never want to draw armour again ((and yet look at me, lying to myself!!!)). Nearly 30 layers later — and it’s done. Shout out to hubby Dave for shading the goblets as I have no idea what I’m doing there 👉👈

Illario stood there with a mug in one hand and a plate of cake—crowned with golden baked apple slices, arranged like he’d tried very hard—balanced precariously on top. His hair was wind‑tossed, his shirt slightly askew, as if he’d jogged there and wanted credit for it. “I finally found you,” Illario said, breathlessly implying he wanted Aydenne to notice he was breathless. “You weren’t in the garden, or the courtyard, or the kitchens, or—Maker, do you know how many stairs this place has?” Aydenne blinked, expressionless. “…I’m working.”
